Ever wondered what actually happens behind the scenes when SuperYachts don't have guest onboard? Do the crew actually work or do they use the boat for their own enjoyment...
This video was filmed before the vessel went to full lock down due to Covid-19.

Chefs must be a different breed to cope with the temperatures they experience every day. That air-con must be the most important on board.

Servicing the dishwasher STOPS or REDUCES the chance of dishwasher fires, I recall you have had a terrible experience of this in the past, I still recall your chilling video of your personal experience. It sent chills down my spine. 👍👍👍🚢🛥⛴🛳🚤😎 Cool shout out for Nick and Aquaholic.

I absolutely did like this video! I may never have the opportunity to ride on such a fine vessel, but it is absolutely beautiful to look at and I feel extreme satisfaction getting to see what is behind every door/hatch on it! If I were on the AWOL for a trip, I couldn't care less about where I was going; I would have absolute joy just exploring the boat!

Very interesting Tristan. Only comment I have is that surely you could put in de - centralised air con for the Chef and in the little Laundry area? It must get so hot in these areas. Oh and one final point is there now no guest toilet apart from their bedrooms? I don't think that I would be too happy about that.

So I got this "Recommended For You" , and since I'm on " USA Lock Down" , what better time to spend it by binged watching 'Super Yacht Captain' ... Although I have a boat (Pursuit OS 325) it's nothing like the magnitude that you are Captain of (and many hats off to you for accomplishing that at such a young age,)..But you have opened my eyes to some pretty important facts about the world of vessels of the sea...Anyways, I like your channel, I subscribed, and can't wait for the next video..... Praying that the whole crew Stays Safe, Stays Strong & Stays Healthy !!!

Incredible amount of complexity, and by extension, an incredible amount of engineering in AWOL! Great video! Something I have been curious about is docking. Especially in a wind, it must take equal parts of knowledge, experience, and ‘feel.’ If sometime you could pull up a previous docking video (not the one with the mishap, just a docking that required a high amount of experience), and just walk through how you did it, what was important to know, and the controls you used, it would be fascinating. Thanks!

Hello Tristan, great videos! I am sailing every year on a chartered sailing yacht (usually 40-50ft) with friends and it is very interesting for me to watch how everything is technically complex on motor yacht like AWOL. As I have seen more of your videos, I am curious whether the (high) level of maintenance is usual in the industry or your owner is just perfectionist:-)?

Stupid question: why dont you install those sensor lights that lights up when theres movment in a space? You dont need to bother about turning on and off lights, and in places like the laundry it is one thing people dont have to manage/remember to shut off when their hand probably are full with stuff. In commercial buildings (in some countries) this has become pretty common - specially in spaces where people usually only enter occasionally.

Nick Aquaholic says the heads is singular in British English, head in singular in US English. Name is historic from the sail era, toilet activity was done over the front of the ship - the "head" of the ship due to wind directions.

*Questions: (1) Will you show us what the other side of the escape hatch @**8:24** looks like? I know it's from the port twin bedroom but many may not. (2) Can the crew open the door to escape to the guest room since I don't see a unlocking wheel? (3) Would the guests know where to go to climb once in the crew mess if no crew where there? (4) Will you climb up the laundry room escape hatch ladder and exit completely so we can see where it all goes? (5) Do the bedrooms lock? If yes, how would another guest get into the escape-hatch bedroom if it were still locked? (Like maybe the person in the escape-hatch bedroom was unconscious or already escaped and forgot to unlock their room door?)* Thanks for your channel and all your videos and information. 🙏
