@@gggg-hq4td That's correct. I was playing off the joke of Drewski saying that the warning was his lane assist. I apologize if the joke was too complicated for you.
0:38 "He's a bit new so we'll be showing him the ropes of how to fly and fight in the Flanker." Drewski: "Alright, the best tactic to literally park on a highway, wait for someone to fly over you, then launch into them. I made a whole video on it so you know it's legit." Also respect for going to the GS server for your hunting.
the GS server is hardly a challenge, bluefor is just full of hornet noobs spamming amraams way up high. They never pay attention to what's around them.
Holy shit. This looks exactly like what i saw last year. Basically, i live a few kilometres away from a military training ground in Croatia in Lika, a mountainous region. This gameplay reminded me of when there were 2 and on one occasion even 3 F-16 fighters training over there, and they did manouvres that i could clearly identify as some kind of strafing run because they'd do big wide turns to gain altitude and then dive down. A hill was in the way so I didn't see them actually firing until i climbed a bigger hill and could clearly see smoke coming out from the plane as it dove. So hell yeah i saw an F-16 do a strafing run multiple times. It was epic, because they were also doing some low altitude flybys, maybe non intentionally but yes i got a good look at them. Quite epic to see when living in the middle of nowhere. I think they were either American pilots or Croatian ones, as we were at the time in debate over buying the F-16 or the Rafale, however nothing i could find in media mentioned what i saw. It was really cool tho and to see aircraft like these fly in formation is always cool. Cheers.

One of my friends loves this game so much that he bought one of those full-motion hydraulic gaming chair things, and then had a custom cockpit built around it, and then had it built so that he could move the control stick from the center to the side to make it accurate to the type of plane he was flying, and then paired it with a VR headset. Talk about wanting full immersion. lol
Man, the flanker is such a great plane. Sure you can have 6 aim120 with a f16, but you'll never have so much fun flying it at high alt, as you can have with this one hiding between mountains
The Flankers are an absolute joy above angels 30. An ER off the rails at mach 1.5- Mach 2 is pretty much a guaranteed splash if they dont defend all the way down to the deck. Thats when the ET would finish the job.
Aim 120-C is getting an overhaul. Hard to fight with R73 or R77 specially when you have hold the lock for a while. Meanwhile you can shoot an Armram and crank and it will still seek. Reason why the F15,16, and 18 are op in PVP 🤷🏽♂️
@@rageknight2340 i agree they are powerfull but still imo a flanker is more deadly than a f16 (i use an f16 btw and when i get killed its always flankers lol once there was a squadron of 6 flankers on the gs server they litterally destroyed us lol but still amraams are better missiles imo ) bc of the mid range ET missiles they dont even give a warning and u can be so far that the enemy wont even see you its kinda op but 120's are the king of bvr imo and non stealthy fighting
I was playing ace combat’s tdm; what I found was a bunch of jets flying around in circle firing at each other. Seeing this gameplay is a sight for soar eyes.
@@no.7893 That's why I want an F-20 Tigershark mod. It's possible that the F-20 would have gotten data-link if it had been put into production, but that never happened thanks to Reagan I think.
Man I LOVED the editing in this video! All the different camera angles when pulling tight turns, firing missiles etc was so cinematic and immersive. Much more interesting than if you just showed cockpit view and we were just watching dots move slowly across your canopy... I know it's a lot of extra work and is time consuming, but PLEASE make more videos with editing like this!
"I didn't kill anyone" "well we shot at the same people, so if I didn't get them you would have. So together we got 5 kills." Behold: The Team Player Award.
I have been flying Eagle Dynamics Su-27 Flanker since 1995, now packaged in DCS. Thanks for promoting this sim to larger audience and the legendary Flanker, you are doing us a great favour. Regards from our 51st Bisons and 100 KIAP regiments.
There were so many times you were coming over the crest of a mountain, and on my screen it was so close, my butthole puckered waiting for that mountain face to be just a bit closer than you planned for. Excellent flying by both of you. Fly high, kick ass, and make them wish they had kept their feet on the ground.
Forgot which campaign for the F-18c. But one of them has you doing a base emergency evacuation during heavy fog through the valleys only on instruments since you could only see about 2-300 feet in front of you and you had to stay low to avoid radar.
YES. DCS video. Love these vids so much. You inspired me to get a setup of my own and try this game and it has quickly become a massive passion of mine. F16, F18, even a bit of the sabre. So thank you Drewski. Keep up the great work!
Oh dam. 5:28. I had fun for a bit with AH, even though it wasn't pretty trash, but the OST was deffo worth saving. Straight slapping me with the nostalgia.
BROOOO I loved that Ace Combat OST!!! I wasn't sure if the first track was from Ace Combat at first but when the OST dropped I was sure it was from AC, great video as always and plz keep using OSTs like this!!!
Love your DCS content, Drewski! You mentioned Growling Sidewinder in one of your earlier videos and I've been watching him ever since. He sure is the better pilot, but he can't compete with the action and the beautiful canyon carving that your videos offer!
0:30 Belkan priority airspace B7R.. AKA the "Round Table"... Drewski, you killed it with the Cinematics with your buddy, gave me an Ace Combat Zero nostalgia trip from when i was a kid. Keep up the good work!
@@pigeonsil240sx I tend to be all over the place in automotive and to a large extent in tech and gaming. :D I have a game programming degree, but I do car social media now for work. Go figure. XD
That's good to have the link to the accessories. I'm in need of a new HOTAS and I have no idea that VIRPIL existed until watching this video. Thanks man!
this brings me the old days of F16 game that was such a realistic game back in the time . this game looks exactly what my brain tells me what F16 game looked like..... till i search for the gameplay its converts to 144p turns out my nostalgic brain was rendering all of the old games scenes to 4k because this is not the first time i get this feeling🧡🧡
Falcon 4 has an active modding community (Called Falcon BMS) that keeps it up to date. In many ways, it's got things that DCS doesn't (mostly a way, way better single player/campaign system) and for it's price of like 4 dollars it's a no brainer to get started with. Look it up bro, won't regret it.
100%. I play Elite Dangerous and sometimes purposefully enter the atmosphere a while away from the station just so I can belly-scrape by way there along the ground :)
On the Georgia map, best flanker tactic either take the r37 or the r73. Both work. If you take the R37 fly high fly fast and splash things with a mach 8 missle. If you take the r73, fly low and stay in the mountains, and one up high to radar check, and just pop in behind and splash them with a point blank shot from the rear.
Another great vid! For some reason parts of the music you chose for the fist engagement really reminded me of the dogfighting music from Battlestar Galactica.
Oh my god. THIS is what I have been wanting. I didn’t know I needed this until now. I’ve always wanted to be a pilot, and hearing you use actual terminology brings joy to my heart. I found you for SCP Overlord, didn’t expect to see this! I’ll be watching you for more of this! (p.s. Did anyone else think he was gonna clip his wings on the ground over those mountains? :) )
Buddy of mine is a long time DCS player. A few years back he was at a german air force (Luftwaffe) event where they let people into the simulators. When he got into it they asked him if he was actually a pilot cause he knew so many cockpit buttons from DCS. Seems to be very realistic then :D
Absolutly love it, gimme moooar:D Such an interesting game, i wish i could play myself, but my PC not good enough. I even have pedals, throttle, joystick and TrackIR, which i bought on your recommendation years ago xD Served me well in Arma 3^^ LOVE those cinematic shots :)
the amount of distance between you and the ground when you are evading gives me so much anxiety, your cockpit is literally 5 feet away from the ground and yet im sitting here waiting for your wing to slightly clip the ground then you get sucked out of existence by mother nature herself! love the videos, hope we can play sometime! haha!
Editing, absolutely amazing. Flying skills top notch. Great Balls Of Fire. The art is playing Flanker at Angles30 (10km) and perform there and not be snaky in the mountains with vertical and 77 ,27ET and 73s but be flanker with 27ER and do long range combat properly, that is true skill.
I have a friend who was like "Why would a map matter in DCS? Its all in the air!" I said "First off, air to ground matters. Second off, air to air uses the ground." and sent him this video
DCS is worth learning if the following conditions are met: (1) You're wealthy, and therefore don't have to worry about a job. (2) You have no wife and no kids. (3) You don't value sleep. Or You're living in your mother's basement.
Man what you said about surfing around low level in the mountains until you get into a fight is so true! Best way to play way better then cruising at 25000 scanning radar
WTF at :06 I legit thought that was video footage til the third shot where you can see the trees up close, just goes to show how far proper coloring and composition can go to creating a believable illusion.
I worry about his high angles of attack, and altitude during dog fights, this isn't a A10 buddy having altitude and range IS beneficial ya know., having a low altitude when going in on hround targets is okay but not if there are aerial threats
Quite honestly your growth through the world of DCS has been the most well documented so far. Seems like not so long ago Ralfi was doing the same thing with you.
I love the kinda shakey zooming camera shots you do! Reminds me of the Battlestar Galactica shakey cam, which is just so perfect for this kinda combat involving missiles and manoeuvring fighters.
