Their enslaved ancestors were smuggled into Alabama in 1860, long after the United States had banned the import of slaves. The smugglers burned the ship to hide their crime, and for more than 150 years, the ship's remains lay on the bottom of the Mobile River. There is a new wave of small group black Americans who believe they are native to America. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Ive read where they actually believe only 40 enslaved people were brought to America from Africa. I just dont get their logic. America had 900k enslaved Africans. The island of Jamaica had double that of the USA., Brazil had the largest slave port, yet they actually subscribe to their only being 40 people brought from Africa. I find it rather sad. I'm black American and I dont subscribe to being Native to the Americas. I think it is disrespectful to my ancestors to minimize the atrocities that they have faced.

Tifi Paul those people are foolish and willing to be anything but descendants of enslaved people. This is not to negate the fact that natives and slaves did mix due to proximity and slavery but that is not related to what these loons online spit.

Bowzy Minnesoldier It’s not the Bible that’s the problem, it’s the religion! We are the Hebrew people of the Bible but we let our oppressors give us their understandings and versions of who we are. Mix the false teachings of the Bible with BS Eurocentric history and you got yourself a brainwashed black Christian. But if you read and study the Bible closely and do your own research into ancient history, all of a sudden Christianity becomes the biggest lie propagated on African people! The Bible is OURS and we must read and understand the word of God and Europeans will be sent packing along with their false Christ they got the world foolishly worshipping! Black Christians are stubborn mental slaves and don’t know the difference between religion and the truth! Psalm 62:10 KJV [10] Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

Bring the ship up and put it on display. Have a model next to it that shows it in its original condition. If there is a ship's manifest put it on display. If you can identify the descendants of the people enslaved, see if you can tie them back to their homeland, their African tribe, their African village. If possible connect these descendants with their African relatives. Let's put Africa town on the map. Celebrate the survival of those enslaved.
