@@nulnoh219They learn from their mistakes. They try new things when old stops working. They made a lot of mistakes and amends. Their citizens actually get out, protest, and try to hold their politicians accountable. France's 6th republic, if it happens, will continue to be a better place for a common person than a wokeistani subservient and weak country like Canada.
They got 3 million more votes than the other parties. They're definitely on the rise, but the other two parties teamed up togheter to prevent their victory!
The problem is the far right, not normal right wingers. They keep showing their bigotry and normal people don't support it. Only reason far-right will win is when Left and Centre liberals fail the populace and they don't see any hope. That's the only way normal people will vote for far-right en-mass. Look at history and what was going on right before far-right fascists win in certain countries. Left brought us all the progress we have today. Far-Left is as evil as the far-right. Liberals and normal Left is what most people support. When they fail to deliver is when citizens look elsewhere such as far-right or far-left.
In the first round French gave LR over 50% win = over 289 representatives. In the second round French gave LR win of 143 representatives (still higher than any other single party). Only loosers are some disshonest people that call LR „far right“ but not „right“.
Yes cause that was what made RN poll number one. And not the Neoliberal Reform of the Retirement Age. Something that Marine Le Pen wouldn't repeal. Because she hates French workers about as much as Brown People.
You can tell this is a bot comment because they don't bother referencing any details, any information. Just here's a lie, in poor English, source is my mom.
@@DolphinWithIgloo-fg3ow see I said "do you got any actual details bot." You reply with a one liner which in your post history you have used over a dozen times. Now do you understand why I call you a bot?

Agree, Macron's political gamble absolutely paned out. They see this from the perspective of Macron's party but he is France's president and as president he puts France fist and not his party. And, all consideed, today, France won. If he wouldn't have done this, far right would have obliterated the polls at the next election and probably at the presidential one as well.
@@catalina5382 I say this as a Macron fan... you know the left despises macron too and probably will not cooperate with him, right? who do you think has been vehemently opposing him on pension and labor market reform? not to mention his staunchly pro Israel stance.
the French Left and Centre need to be careful. The right have not been defeated yet. The Left and Centre may have won this battle - but if they're not careful they might lose the war.
It is always a constant struggle to keep the fascists at bay. Hopefully they keep doing the right thing and we follow their example when the time comes here in Canada.
The public voted against the far right party and decided on the party that will make positive changes. As usual if the party in power fails to produce results they are voted out. Democracy works.
@@maya2adore232 It is the number of votes that count not were in France they come from. La Penn’s party lost considerable seats, showing the majority rejected her.
She literally said « nfp will discuss peace deals instead if sending weapons to Ukraine…. there is no reason to be optimistic » so optimism is about funding wars … not striking peace deals
I am from Canada, and seeing over 200 candidates that could have been in the second turn, retiring themselves from the race, feels like the election was manipulated by the candidates. Not really fair for the people.
Yes of course, but the french fifth republic is a presidential constitution & the voting method in legislative elections are manipulated in the 1st place to give an absolute majority to the head party in the elections. + in France, we don't make alliances between parties after the elections but before, so everything is completely twisted... Vive la France !
The most pathetic thing in this win is not a single french flag is waving … all i see is the palestinian flag … good luck france …. In 10 years enjoy sharia law

If your going to call the National Rally "far-right" then call the new popular front far-left please. Or just call both left and right like they actually are.
France freed itself from the corrupt reign of neoliberal. Electing a racist wouldn't have gotten them any freedom, unless you believe foreigners are somehow the problem.
RN got about 39% if I recall correctly. Disaster has luckily been avoided but the left really needs to get Neoliberale like Macron in line and invest in the rural regions. The extreme right thrives on poverty and neglected voters.
@@fabianelsen3716 - I would not call blocking 37 % voters from influence in the national assembly avoiding disaster. It is a democratic disaster in my opinion.

Quite biased reporting: 1. it is clear that Macron's gamble failed, whether it was meant to increase his majority in Parliament or the sick experiment of a far right that was meant to rule but fail just to "teach France a lesson". 2 The Left alliance is not new nor cobbled up in a few days. It has been there since 2022. 3. Their program is well constructed and better financed than Macron's tax cut utopia. 4. French people belong together, even though Macron wants to divide, disenfranchise or frighten them for his own benefit 5. It is good for Europe 🇪🇺 A third term of Macron would be a shameful disaster for Europe.
"France could face years of political instability" Ha! I admire the French for their political engagement culture. The people have spoken, they rejected the far right.
For Macron, it means the people don't want him. For France, it means a hung parliament, and for EU, it means the old powers will no longer be strong enough, and it's time for counties like Poland to rise
This is a sign to USA democrats. Kick out Biden. You have a dozen highly qualified young candidates. Act now and choose a new candidate, as you can see it can be done. Do not act out of fear and stick to old doddering man.
Actually, it looks rosier from the outside than the inside. With their parliamentary systems and proportional representation, France's neighbours are adept at forming coalition governments. It's more rule than exception. France has a learning curve.
I went there for a couple of weeks and I was amazed how things run smoothly. From public transportation, to the price of food, or so many situations I saw where groups stuck together to have better outcomes (prevent monopoly, decrease price of electricity, etc). Everything was better than in Canada. I don't know exactly what "governable" means. But they definitely do a much better job at running their country than we do.
Because, until then France was supporting Israel by sending them weapons such as drones..., but the left-wing alliance that just won the elections in France want the recognition of Palestine as a State, the immediate Cease-fire, sanctions against Israel's government, etc...
It is obvious that they did not learn from history. About what communism did to Europe in the 60s and 70s, and why it fell in the 80s. He who does not learn from history is condemned to repeat it.
@@briandelaney9710 Oh yes, I know all about that, but that is like assigning the far left to Peter Hitchens because of his past and the politics of his brother. It is such a shallow, inaccurate view of reality.
Ah yes, more troubles, such troubles as fair taxation for billionaires (basically 80% if not more, as it should be), redistribution of wealth, equal opportunities for women and minorities and welfare state.
