I agree with a lot of this, but we also have to be honest: a big reason why people don’t like the Haneys (largely, Bill) is because they overpromise and undersell. To the point about people resenting Dev’s story: Errol Spence is someone who grew up “the right way” with both parents, wasn’t in the streets as far as we know, and a lot of people rock with him.
