For all you French speakers out there Reggie has purposely used the Japanese pronunciation for the name of the brand so please forgive if it offends you in anyway. Our intention is never to offend but to educate others on the industry we love: fashion.

I first got into this brand when it showed up on a couple of my favorite Korean and American fashion bloggers and had no clue it was a Japanese brand?! the name suggested a French origin to me 😅

I like to think that 'Comme des garcons' fell off because HypeBeast found out the real translation and thought it was a little creepy.... I mean who would wear a shirt captioned: "Like some boys" or "Like boys" .... It could be misinterpreted. Sub mess. been around for a while...

I studied fashion design, so I understand extreem expressionist fashion. never really being a fan of avant-garde design in general..i do like parts of the idea when choosing clothes for myself, i do like unique pieces, and understand that fashion shows...especially cdg fashion shows..are just that...a show...but dam is it ugly.. i do like all the ready to wear lines.

Im a big fan of CDG, in a way that I feel like it caters very well to people of all shapes and sizes. Interested in the brand but don't want to drop mega bucks? CDG Play. Interested in the brand but want a step up from play? CDG Black Want to experiment with your wardrobe and silhouette? CDG Homme/Homme+/Ganryu/Junya Watanabe And then the brand also invites you in with the Dover Street Market's, which, after seeing the New York location, are highly recommendable because of the almost Art Installation type appeal that the store's design has, plus also being a purveyor of all things off-kilter and interesting within the fashion universe. CDG is admirable, successful, and accessible, and really satisfying at all levels. There really aren't many others like it!

Even just the logo is great: Simple yet eye catching. Known to those who are into fashion, but unknown to those who aren't.

I started with CDG play then I got into CDG. Nowadays, I go for Tricot which is by Tao Kurihara, another Junya "student". It has that nice rustic look with mostly wool. Noir Kei Ninomiya is also a cool line from CDG which focuses on origami and geometric design.

What's your opinion on Denim by Vanquish and Fragment Design?

Earlier in 2017 I visited the flagship CDG store in Tokyo and the store had a very "industrial-meets-art installation" feel, as the Play line was folded and placed like a normal clothing store, but some of the much more expensive high-end fashion lines were seemingly displayed like works of art. One thing I never hear about CDG is their fragrances, but what I tried in their store smelled wonderful-much of it could be unisex. All in all as a budget-conscious consumer I hope to one day afford Comme des Garçons, but for now I will have to be satisfied with window-shopping.

bought a blue grey stripe play button up, its worth every penny if u get it for less than retail, which is pretty easy to find. the shirts are one of only items from cdg that runs true to size. if anyone is deciding whether to get it or not i highly recommend you do
