Jackie, I really appreciate the way you conduct your videos because as someone with adhd, it's really rare for my attention to be captured the way it is when I watch your stuff. You're so engaging! And excited! And genuine! And a million other adjectives! You make 30 minutes not feel like 30 minutes for my brain. So thank you. Please keep being you :)
Emily S Yes!!! Same here. I have very very bad ADHD & I can rarely get through a whole video, but something about Jackie just kinda captures my attention. It’s amazing.
Ms. Jackie Coming from a 51 yr old black women who can count on one hand how many times I have worn makeup. I wish I had someone like you when I was in my teens. You are the best.
She does it in almost every video where she mentions she's going to lighten areas of her face.. Which just goes to show how much people actually complain and misinterpret what she's saying. It's totally ridiculous that she has to do that.
I love that Jackie is actually using her pallet and that it is clear that she is using it. Cause, some other you-tubers and influencers creat a pallet, use it for promoting and then never again Edit: this is the most like I ever got in anything
Jackie has so much integrity that even after being taken off a pr list (for constructive criticism she’s given in the past) she’s still giving support to a brand. No other influencer does this
Skylar Moraldo I feel like makeup revolution and the Nubian brand from Ulta has palettes with a lot of these colors. And nyx has the butter glosses that work really well for like 3-5 dollars. For foundation nyx, revlon, makeup revolution, morphe, Black radiance all make good foundation that is affordable and can give you this look. Ulta also had coupons like 20% off and 5 off 15 that you can use on these brands. And if you don’t like something you can ALWAYS bring it back to Ulta. Sometimes make up is ridiculously expensive but there are some really amazing dupes out there for this look! Good luck!
HUGE AGREE. I am a college student who is off work due to health issues and live in a super rural/remote area that's close to Alaska and we have LITTLE to nothing here in terms of local makeup. We really only have a Shopper's and then a couple of dollar/bargain stores.
LA Colors is at dollar tree. It's the same as LA Girl. Both are owned by Beauty 21 Cosmetics. They have color correctors, eye shadows, brow pencils, concealer pencils and liquids, eyeliners, mascara and some foundations. This can help you get started on a budget. Also, wet n wild has nice brushes there too!
Listen, ever since I’ve started doing the powdering of the primer, I go from grease ball to matte instantly and it lasts much longer. Thanks for the tip 😌💘💘
I love the "Soft Glam" look. Could you also do a matte neutral 90's supermodel look with the strong brow. Also, I would like to say Jordan Woods makeup-look on Jada Pinkett's Red Table talk was also very soft glam.
@Jessica Marsh I feel the exact same way!! She made me aware of Huda's initial lack of inclusivity and when I saw the thumbnail included the nude palette from Huda. I said to myself it's time to take Huda off the blacklist. LOL I've noticed the improvement from Huda Beauty myself.
watsonar70 I’ve honestly really liked Huda’s products, they are usually worth the money. When I saw Jackie’s video addressing the Huda & POC it made me really sad that Huda wasn’t using dark complexions on her IG or campaigns. I’ve noticed she started using more darker complexions. I have to give props to Huda too, she didn’t clap back, she didn’t try to justify not using dark complexions, she didn’t try to make excuses, she just made the changes. I’m just so happy that the line of communication is open & changes are being made.
@@jessicamarsh9779 Yes. I agree and one thing that Jackie said previously that she had questions regarding the sudden change to start including darker skinned women being sincere or just going after the all mighty black dollar. I feel it's a combination of both however she has been more consistent with her inclusiveness so I'll purchase her products because I do like them myself! Happy Holidayd to you and your family!
Me and my 5-head watching the video: she better slide her scarf back or she’ll have a foundation line. *squints and realizes that she’s just got a small/normal sized forehead* 😫🚶🏾♀️
I came back to this video just to say this literally changed my blending game. I've followed this eyeshadow blending technique with colors that work for me and it has been life changing. I'm excited to try this with different colors
pshyeahtischelsea we are all our worst critic. Hopefully she was just trying to be humble cuz if Jackie truly thinks she is average in looks... what would she think of us!!! Jk but seriously, hopefully the beauty community/industry hasn’t given her body dysmorphia 😰
PSA to the girls that Jackie’s ABH palette is a bomb Christmas gift to give. Like, I loved the packaging so much I decided against getting wrapping, and just got a ribbon. Thanks for making the packaging so pretty and extra, Jackie. 😭
Jackie created a STAPLE with her ABH palette. I literally reach for it everytime I do my makeup without fail. I’ve not had that with a palette in a MINUTE
Not even BROKE but just have different Priorities. NYX and IMAN cosmetics can compete with Estee Lauder and Lancôme for coverage and stay power. Even if you are a millionaire why spend EXTRA
Nailed it. I’m a GenX kid and you’re making the 90’s cry right now remembering itself. 👍🥰 I cant think of any major influencer that hit this soft glam as on point as this.
@@kristv6496 well the point is, the word women of colour is elastic as it includes other women who are not white. When talking about issues concerning black women alone, it's ambiguous to say women of colour instead of bw. On the other hand, when such issues affects women who are not white (including black women), then you can conveniently say women of colour.
we should not still be thinking that “covering up darkness” is trying to not be dark, its boutta be 2020 yall come on get it together, allow yourself to cover up your eye bags its okay
I was dumped on Monday and have been in a funk all week, your videos are helping me so much. you are such a joy to watch and I adore your candor. thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️
My Boyfriend asked “What are you watching?” My response was “Jackie, Jackie, Jackie, Jackie, Jackie, Jackie, Jackie, Jackie, Jackie, Jackie (the same rhythm and tone)”. His face was so priceless after he heard the intro 🤪
Lauryn H. girl i was the same way. i will say though once i started branching out my makeup game became so much more interesting and empowering!! i definitely recommending trying it whenever you get more comfortable.
I was so glad to hear and see you mentioned because you are the epitome of soft glam, and you always slay! Plus..we know our girl is the queen of eyebrows.😊 I feel very proud of Jackie for giving you credit where credit is due.👍🏾
I just recently started watching Jackie’s channel and I must say I regret not watching her sooner, she is very informative and knows her face so well and knows what products work for her
I love the soft glam looks, but why u bringing this back when I'm learning to use colors, Aunty?? (But fr, please give us the drug store version for the queen on a budget.)
I'm more 2000s than 90s (born in December 1997) and the song brought back long forgotten memories. It might because I'm South American so like... things took a few years to get here lol
I love how she give a chance to huda beauty and decided to try her products again. She literally uncancelled them and I love it. Why no one is talking about this?
I’m watching this in bed and my husband turns over and asks me to put on headphones. My response? “Don’t talk when Aunt Jackie is teaching”. He’s now trying to sleep on the couch in the living room 😂
I have to say youre the queen of real and we need more like you. These influencers now days act as if we need them and on some other ish. Miss ur realness
This foundation is beautiful on Jackie. I also own 310 Shiseido Synchro Foundation & in my opinion this is the best foundation for her skin & the rest of us who are a NC 50 in the MAC Studio Fix Fluid, I don’t know what’s going on but NC 50 is not the same anymore, it’s become more red & that is a pet peeve of mine when cosmetic companies keep making foundations with red & orange undertone as if people with a cool undertone don’t exist, it’s annoying.
