Now, I'm going to tell you the side of the Apalachee High School Shooting in Georgia that the media will not tell you, the side of the good guys with a gun.
Amid the chaos of the Georgia High School Shooting, there were heroes.
Two School Resource Officers (SROs), already on campus, rushed toward the sound of gunfire.
Within minutes, they found the shooter. The officer who confronted him wasn’t there to negotiate-he was there to stop the threat, one way or another.
Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith stated, “Obviously, the shooter was armed, and our School Resource Officer engaged him, and the shooter quickly realized that if he did not give up, that it would end with an officer involved shooting.”
The shooter was left with two choices: surrender or face the consequences.
Realizing he was outmatched, the shooter dropped his weapon and surrendered.
The SRO took him into custody without further bloodshed. No drawn-out standoff, no more lives lost. That officer saved countless lives that day, and yet, this heroic story barely made a ripple in the news cycle.
Ironically, during her first presidential campaign run in 2019, Kamala Harris called for the removal of armed police officers from schools.
"What we need to do about … demilitarizing our schools and taking police officers out of schools. We need to deal with the reality and speak the truth about the inequities around school discipline. Where in particular, Black and Brown boys are being expelled and or suspended as young as, I've seen, as young as in elementary school," Harris said during her first presidential campaign.

As a father with a sophomore at Apalachee High School, I just want to say that is pronounced APP-UH-LATCH-EE. And you're right. The two FULL-TIME SRO's were there in seconds and stopped an unimaginable tragedy. All I heard from the White House was an opportunity for more gun control. The Barrow County Sheriff's Office training range is about a mile behind me house through the woods. The day after the shooting at the high school they were back at it, training at 8am and through the morning. Someone on my neighborhood Facebook page posted about it, saying it was "bad timing" and they should "take a break" for the rest of the week. As a parent of AHS students I responded that I was glad they were there because they are the ones standing between my children and the unthinkable.

It's good to hear a comment from the perspective of a parent. I once worked as a photographer and was doing yearbook photos in an elementary school. One black child got a mean look when the school resource officer walked by. I asked him why. He said the officer was a bad guy and wanted to put him in jail. He had been told that by his parent(s). I told him the officer was actually there to protect him and his classmates. I asked him, "If a bad guy comes in that door and wants to hurt you, which way would you run?" He pointed away from the door and said "That way." I then told him that the officer would run towards the bad guy to try to stop him. The look on the child's face changed. He has been brought up to hate those who would actually put themselves in danger to protect him.

All across the front classroom windows were at 2' to 5' height with no bars. A 10 year old could throw a brick through it and walk right in. There is no secure single entry point or metal detector. I grew up in Chicago, my dad and I were robbed by two men with guns when I was eleven. I bought a derringer kit a few weeks later and began carrying a gun, all through junior high and high school. I still carry to this day over fifty years later. Many of the men in my church carry. I've stopped two armed robberies merely by being present and carrying, no stories ever covered those robberies. Every day "armed police and civilians" stop crimes merely by being present. A couple months ago, my niece and I were threatened by an idiot trying to merge without looking and getting angry. He backed off and found a side road to leave the main traffic area. I carried an M-16 for twenty one years in the Marines. I expect I'll carry for the rest of my life. @JusBidniss
@JusBidniss 8 дней назад
I don't think Colion forgot it, it just wasn't the point he was making, and they aren't mutually-exclusive points. His point, again, is that the media is silent on the fact that a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun. That little fact doesn't comport with their narrative that the only way to stop violence is with gun bans. The measures you mention helped put that good guy in place to stop the bad guy. Still doesn't mean the leftist media aren't tanking what is to them an inconvenient fact. They'd rather focus on their fairy tale that the gun itself, a sentient and evil being, crawled up into the hand of an unsuspecting and innocent lad, and of its own volition started discharging, and that the only way to stop such violence is to ban these evil objects, because then the troubled youth will have no other possible outlets for his violent tendencies. Which is all hogwash, of course. It was the good guy with a gun.

I live in Winder Ga, my 17yo son was in a classroom across the hall from where the shooting started. He told me he had literally just came back from the bathroom just 2 minutes before it started. He said there were a lot of kids sitting in the hallway waiting to go into their classroom when he walked by. The other part of the story that isn't being told is that the estranged mother had called the school 30 minutes prior begging them to get her son out of class, that she thought he was going to do something terrible. They not only pulled the wrong kid of the same name, but had 30 minutes to act on the information but had no sense of urgency apparently. Thank God for the armed resource officers willingness to act so fast in the face of danger. They LITERALLY saved my sons life!

I live in Georgia. This morning while I was drinking coffee at a coffee shop I overheard several middle aged white males (I am the same demographic); talking about this shooting. One of them men commented several times about the lack of an interview with the SRO. He wanted to know what happened from the SRO's point of view. On my way out I asked if I could chime in. The thought I offered was maybe the SRO doesn't want to talk about it. He might know that student, might have been friendly with him. It must have been awful to confront a kid that just killed other students and staff. I would assume the officer doesn't think he's a hero. He's probably grateful he prevented more deaths. That's his job. That's a job we shouldn't need to hire people to do. What do you want the media to do here? The kid is 14. He had an AR-15 style weapon purchased by his father AFTER the child made threats to do the very thing he did. If the 14 year old kid didn''t have an AR-15, he wouldn't have brought it to school. It was a moment in time between two people that brought this to an end. In one of the comments below someone asked what law could have prevented this; there is no minimum age to possess a rifle or shotgun in Georgia. Maybe that's a start. In GA, rifles are common on farms to clear out animals that are an issue for their crops etc. .22 caliber rifles are great for this. But a 14 year old kid with an AR-15 and a known threat to harm others? I bet you the SRO just wants to be left alone. Don't use him. It's an awful thing he had to confront. He was paid to do it. Thankfully he had the ability to connect enough to Colt to shut it down before everyone else died. A lot of things fell through the cracks in this situaion. As much as the discussion is "protecting the 2nd Amendment" the flip side is the 1st Amendment, First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. The press can cover the news however they want to provide content their audience is interested in, just as you profit off of your viewers that enjoy your content. A grievance by many people is that there are constant mass shootings. I am not talking about criminals and crimes related to gangs, money, trafficking people , drugs, etc. Those are the criminals that won't care about gun laws. There is a difference between criminals who use crime for gain, and a person that should clearly not have access to weapons in which a crime is committed. If people want to vocalize their grievances for the dead by means of these weapons, they are on equal footing with 2nd Amendment rights advocates who are resistant to make any accomodations for the rest of the citizens. I don't know how to get to the point of balance where mass murders by kids are stopped and people on both sides can depend on the 1st Amendment to allow a forum to create change. The First Amendment protects words, which are not directly lethal no matter who says them, while the 2nd Amendment, protects lethal devices that kill thousands after thousands of peopele when they are in the hands of people who have no business using them. These are two very different levels of intervention that should be on the table. It is ironic that 2nd Amemdment folks say there is a need for weapons because other people have weapons.... The gun manufactures sell to anybody; is this a mission of giving every citizen the benefit of the doubt (nah, they aren't a criminal and not about to give this to a kid to shoot up a school), vs, "if we make it, they'll buy it, and someone else will need to buy something else we sell to protect them from the last thing we just sold. Championing increasing mag capacity is only relevant because other PEOPLE have weapons with increasing mag capacity. Personally, I am looking at a Smith and Wesson 9mm EZ as a first gun purchase that will go in a biometric gun safe where nobody but me will know how to access it. I obviously watch your channel, you have good content. On this though, I don't see eye-to-eye with you. So, in closing, I don't think how the news channels are covering this is irresponsible. Nobody won. Another mass shooting happened when a child had access to an AR-15. A paid law-enforcement officer interviened. Couldn't we agree that it would have just been best if the shooting didn't happen at all?

If the dad knew that the kid threatened to run over people and was told to keep the car away from the kid, but instead bought the kid a car, then the dad would have been culpable and should be charged.

I agree completely! I graduated 1993 Little Rock Central High School, if you do not know it, check it out. HBO did a segment covering that time as well. We had locked classroom doors, security guards at ever corner in hallways meeting and greeting and whatever was needed to keep the peace, and metal detectors at every entrance. Sad stupid days we live in when 30 years later they still refuse to protect our children and play the blame game for agenda or profit.

I want to see the real weapon. For this to be pulled off, there's only a one set of features needed... 1) SBR 2)Foldable stock and a backpack, if the weapon doesn't have these two features I question the whole msm story

After seeing the news about the shooting, i wondered how did it end. It was never mentioned. Thanks for your work on helping us maintain our right to bear arms.

i live in Switzerland, WAY more pro gun than the USA will ever be. half the teachers are male all have military service backgrounds and ALL are armed with a pistol and AR. aint no school shootings here, oh n did i mention kids learn to shoot at 12 ? buy a gun if you are swiss ONLY at 14 and military service is obligatory ? did i mention ALL men who are swiss are required BY LAW to practice shooting once a month and Ammo is tax free and as much as you want. crime is all nearly zero here too. im British btw Ex army, love it here, no BS in sight be more like the swiss

Lmao what a foolish comparison. What is the population of Switzerland? Smaller area's are much easier to control. Take away 5 US cities with the strictest gun control and the US becomes 189th in gun deaths so switz and its weird laws dont seem all to great.

Hard to say swiss are more pro gun when we have 77 million known gun owners. The Swiss are also very homogeneous which helps alot with keeping things smoother because less diversity (not as likely conflicting cultures which is where the US is experiencing gangs of different cultures). If it works out for you guys that's great and I respect the Swiss for being pro-gun. The other point you don't mention is that some of us can't serve in the military due to physical problems (like me with back problems I was born with) so there would have to be some kind of way for a guy like me to be able to still serve otherwise you're taking away my ability to be able to own a gun. I don't want to be like the Swiss sorry. Learn some things? Sure but I don't want to be like you guys exactly to a tee

Agreed. What is the deal with these idiot. My wife is a teacher and they have a resource officer. I’m so tired of hearing people complaining about installing metal detectors. “I don’t want my kids to feel like they are in a prison”.

When I was in school we had a threat and they set up the entrance like tsa for a month then took it all down. Metal detectors and bags should all be checked at the entrance and it would stop a lot of this from ever happening.

It's always the few making the millions of law abiding gun owners look bad. But wanting to take our guns after a mentally ill person shoots people would be like taking all of our cars away cause someone got killed in a DUI!!!! NUTS!

My greatest frustration with this whole thing given it happened 30 minutes from where I'm at is that surrender never should have been an option. Sorry if people think I'm too harsh on this, but I firmly believe that this awful excuse for a human being should have no right to live when so many others lost their right to live and even more have had their lives permanently altered. I don't believe that life imprisonment in any case where there is zero doubt of guilt is justice.

Maaan! Same in the 80s and early 90s. Middle school and high-school had at least 1 if not 2 sheriffs as SRO's. High-school also had a "hall monitor" Retired LEO that cruised around on a golf cart and was in constant radio contact with Rso's and principals. Kinda feel like that played a role in deterring certain actions. Plenty of students had pew pews on them but no mass shootings. Definitely different times. Beefs got settled with fistacuffs. We had 2 race "riots" while I was there. Even then no bullets went flying.

In my high school in the late sixties, the students brought "weapons" to school, and kept them in their vehicles, LEGALLY! On a rack, in the window, behind the seat, for all to see! Times have surely changed! Forgot to say that I'm from Mississippi!
