Xcaret has been creating a new attraction to visit called the Xibalba Reserve. This large nature reserve is an incredible project that will let visitors be immersed into the jungle of the Yucatán and be transported to another world. This reserve is a collection of beautiful cenotes that are connected by tunnels, bridges and anything the architects could imagine building.
Xilbalba is the name given to the underworld by the Maya. Not only will you have fun exploring this world created by Xcaret, you will. Learn about the Maya and how they lived and how they live today. Thanks for watching our video. it was a very quick tour of the new project, so we took video as fast as we could. When it opens we will be sure to take our time to show more about what this reserve will be like.

It should be noted that the opening date of this reserve is on hold. No official date has been given.

This is so exciting!! Once you Xcaret, you can’t imagine doing much else! 😉 I watched many of your videos before our trip last year and I’m ready to plan another one. ♥️ This place looks soooo beautiful, peaceful, and grounding. Thank you for introducing this new park!! 🌟

Thanks for watching. We had been waiting for the press visit to the new park. It got a little delayed, but the park is scheduled to open in 3 months! We know what you mean by visiting the parks of Xcaret. This one is even more planed than the others, plus it is a reserve, so more natural setting.

Si hay justicia en Mexico ,esperemos jamás se abra esta aberración de parque de diversiones que ha hecho un ecocidio y afectado 8 cenotes solo para el enriquecimiento de unos cuantos, aquí no veo ambientalistas

La idea de que esta tierra está siendo destruida o contaminada no es realmente la verdad. Va en contra de los intereses de todos. Si el agua estaba contaminada, nadie podía visitar, nadar o incluso tomar buenas fotos. ¿La construcción es perfecta? No. Pero aún peor son muchos de los proyectos de vivienda y construcción alrededor de la península que realmente están dañando la naturaleza, pero nadie se queja de eso.

Hi, my brother lives nearby and told me it is not open yet. It will be open in Decembe 2024. There have been delays. Unless this is a different one. He lives close to Valladolid.

I was looking forward to Xibalba for months, but it seems that when I’m in Mexico (5-24 november) it will still be closed. I secretly hope you’re gonna tell me it’s gonna open next month, but my gut feeling says no

We think your gut is right. We have not heard anything. The highway between Riviera Maya and Xilbaba is under Reconstruction for the train Maya. So it is slower to get there. So we imagine if it gets open, it will be after the construction.

Well, since this park is not open as of now, it has been postponed until a future date. It took a full day just visiting this adventure without swimming, so we would say that when it opens, it will be a full day activity.

I believe Xibalba is at a standstill because of environmental issues, so it's not open. The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources claim that Xenotes Magicos, which works for Grupo Xcaret, violated certain environmental legislation.

@Niphates From what I read on Yucatan Times, Elizabeth Vilches, ALMO'S spokesperson, said that Xibalba lacks environmental authorization , so PROFEPA has imposed a temporary closure of the project. This environmental group says Xcaret has caused irreversible damage to the environment already.

Once open it should be. All of the Xcaret properties are linked to the hotel and offer tour services.

This is near Valladolid in the center of the peninsula. It is not currently open dues to delays and environmental concerns. We do not have a doubt that it will open in the future. We will announce it when it does.

They have purchased Yal Ku which is another inlet with snorkeling in the Riviera Maya. There are additions coming to Xplor and to Xcaret Park.

hello how are you. im having a question. i have found recently that only according to the government. uxmal was more popular in the 1990s for example in 1996 according to the goverment it received 350 thousand tourists. i dont believe in that given that it was not yet declared an unesco world heritage site and was unknown. that confused me. how is that story?

We cannot attest to the numbers of visitor at each site, but now, Chichen Itza receives thousands of guests each day. It is accessible form both coast and even tours come from cruises that dock in Progresso.

@@pedrodeltoral778 it means we don’t have the numbers of visitors available to us and we cannot confirm the numbers. There are hundreds of Mayan sites that are not excavated in the Yucatán Peninsula alone. The ones that get prototypes are ones of cultural significance and of possible interest for visitors.

thank you for telling us a good answer. why it is difficult to estimate the number of visitors at uxmal. the goverment says that uxmal received 350 thousand tourists in 1996. for me. in this case the goverment is wrong because uxmal was not yet declared an unesco world heritage site. so why does the goverment statistics say that uxmal was more popular in the 1990s? i found that at estadisticas de visitantes from the mexican goverment. for that reason i sometimes dont believe in goverment statistics of visitors.

There are no official plans for this, but it would not surprise us if they built something in the future so guests can stay in the area and visit more places.

El tren Maya también está talando muchos árboles y aún así se llevará a cabo, el crimen organizado controla aserraderos, y destruye nuestros bosques, y nadie hace nada, este proyecto, por lo que se ve, funde el parque con la naturaleza, ya que esa es la idea, atraer turismo para apreciar la naturaleza de la península, el parque se ve acoplado con la naturaleza del lugar
