The jetstream is designed to be an outer layer due to it being wind proof.

It’s an outer shell not meant to be the warmest layer ever, Sitka is meant to be layered.

My favorite Sitka piece.

It’s good for spring turkey and fall turkey, beyond that it’s bulky to use late season

It’s a jacket made for moving while you hunt. Sitting still not so warm. Moving you will sweat.

Outer layers aren’t supposed to be warm? Isn’t that what you mid layers are for?

I consider the Jetstream jacket as a thicker version of the Mountain jacket, but quieter and a bit more versatile. I agree with you that it is not, and should not, be considered a warm insulated jacket. Like you said, pair it with a good base and mid layer and you'll be warm deep into the late hunts.
