Great video Karl! I think it was great that you put the note in at the end that this was recorded right after he lost. It shows the type of character Shane is. A lot of pool players, after they lose, won’t even talk to anyone let alone do a video. Great guy and great ambassador. And Karl you are good too! Haha
I met Shane before. HE truly is an absolute GENTLEMAN from my experience. Darren Appleton, Alex Pagulayan, Dennis Orcullo and ALL of the Phillipines Players have ALL been absolute Gentleman in my experiences!!!❤❤
Karl, thanks for this! Been waiting for it for so long! The South Dakota Kid is really like a kid. Look at his smile when he opens the bag and pulls all the shafts and stuff out. You can see how much he loves the game and his equipment. At least I myself feel it this way. SVB is a really nice and genuine person. Karl if you don't make a note, we can't tell he's just lost the game lol Nice one Karl, keep it going :)
You know what I love? I love seeing his interactions, his humor with other people now. Few years ago I saw him not asking what he didn't understand or just beeing very quiet, not more! Just not caring, and that's cool. He's just doing his thing, unbiased by his hearing impairment. And that's just beautiful. He's such a great player, a role model for so many kids (and grown-ups) and a really nice person. I had the opportunity to meet him briefly a few years ago here in the Netherlands. I really like him, he was really long there for his (european) fans, giving autographs and talking to everybody. Plus: He did some unbelievable shots in the exhibition back then. SVB's just a cool guy in my book.
Hey my man. Lovely video yet again. And this time it's with the G.O.A.T. SVB is just an incredible/amazing guy and you can see his face with it all. And even losing his semi final (nice wee note at the end karl) he still do the video just goes to show you why SVB is a class man. He could open a shop with all them shafts lol. #MuchLove my man. Bring on the #WorldCupOfPool #HeyPoolFans #PoolLife 💛🤝🏻
there's nothing to hate about this guy, SVB is a great representative for this sport! The fact that he caries pens with him for autograph tells you everything about him
I am ordering a SVB Ghost Edition 11.8, as I play pool 7 days a week for hours a day and want more cue ball control. Was between that and a $1,700 custom Casino CF Meucci. Will save the Meucci for my next birthday.. The Meucci is overkill for the pool hall I play at lol.
You would think since Karl is European and Mosconi Cup Co Captain he would not appreciate SVB. But the way Karl talks about SVB you can see his real appreciation of SVB.
Here's me having owned 4 different cues in my entire life and then there's Shane sporting 4 different shafts just for his break cue alone! What a guy! :D
Im euro fan in mosconi, but idk i love SVB, everytime i see his face it reminds me a comedian face, it just look like funny guy, humble guy, friendly face 😂, idk i just love the way he smile 😂
Is his playing cue 21 oz and the weight of the extension that seems like a heavy cue. I would think taking the weight bolt out then adding the extension do you think thats what svb does?
Damn Lots of shaft. Lots of accesories and then only to be beaten by the man with just one break cue, one playing cue, sand paper and johnsons baby powder in the bag hahahaha
Does Shane use the extension he mentioned on his break cue also ? It sounded like that but this would be pretty unusual If so his 19 ounce break cue weighs more like 21 oz as he mentioned This was not clear in the video - trying to find this out So is his break cue 19 oz or 21 oz ? I know his playing cue is about 22 oz with the extension he always uses and keeps on
You didn't ask him the playing tip hardness! I tried a how soft and it was like moosh. It wouldn't burnish and it would mushroom so fast so I went back to kamui medium
Finally! Because of Earl. Best respecting one of the greats. He has obviously joined that league but it’s admirable to know to give credit where it is due.
Think about that they make 25 dollar individual chalk pieces that are “supposed to help you be better” an the world champion plays with damn masters chalk gotta love him
He came in my local pool hall, played on of our better local players, $100 sets, as just sort of exhibition! Really cool to do that! And to witness that break, in person, sitting 4 ft. Away,(10 ball) was really something to behold
@@Blessed.2.Teach.4God 👍👍 We've had quite a few top players come through, Mika, Appleton, Allison, Rodney, by far Rodney and Shane, and John Schmidt, were the most courteous, Went to the bar next door had drinks with Justin Bergman, who's just a riot! ♥️🙏🇺🇸
SVB is such a genuine and humble guy. You can just look at him and see the love and passion he have for this game. Great ambassador for the sport and best role model for any player to emulate.
YEAH LETS ALL JUMP UP ON POOL TABLES, THEN GRUNT AND BANG YOUR CHEST LIKE A CAVEMAN.. THEN CONTINUE UP AND DOWN WALKING ON TOP OF THE POOL TABLE. YEAH GREAT AMBASSADOR FOR THE SPORT. OR WHEN HE ROLLS ON HIS BACK ON THE TABLE WITH FEET IN THE AIR, TOTAL AHOLE
He has two spare 11.8’s, in addition to his main one, so he probably tried both and is just lazy to change out the 12.5. Don’t look too much into it. He even said he’s never touched one of the spare 11.8’s before. It reminds me of people asking better players: “do you get nervous when you play?” And I fell for the same trap before too. I once heard someone ask a top pro this, and they looked very irritated at the question, but still responded nicely, “of course, everyone does.” They aren’t superhuman, they’re just like you and me. They’re just damn good at what they do.
Karl we love those whats in the bag videos!! Would be great if u could also ask about how they take care of their equipment maybe? And also if they use soft/ medium...etc tips and how that makes their game different. Big ups, love your content Karl!!
Thank you. Great video Karl! would you ever shoot a video with what you had in the bag when you played professionally? That would be sick to watch, I have a feeling you carried much less weight than Shane does
I definitely got the sense of some 'oh yeah, that's in there' from him. A world champion being human, who'd a thunk it. Awesome. I've always respected his skill but this is the first interview of any type I've seen of him and just from that little bit I can tell he is such a chill laid back guy. Shane, I'm now a fan.
omg Karl you getting backstage passes is awesome! I wanna thank you for this and yea his fishing bag probably is a similar set up haha with all the poles he has and stuff. I do have the white cue with the white extension and it’s changed my life I feel so confident with my game now.Shane is so humble and feels honored that Cuetec sponsors him and he has all this nice stuff. Also Karl your one of my favorite commentators
This videos are great but could offer a lot if they ask questions like why SVB has different shafts with different diameters? Which one he prefers, he has 11.8, 12.5 and some more don’t even know what diameter they are..
I LOVE these WHATS IN THE BAG videos! They show you everything. And it's just so cool to see these pros' equipment spread out and talked about. Very nice idea and good execution.
But what kind ferrules are those brown ones? They don't come on the cuetec synergies they actually sell, so he must have a custom brown ferrule? Then the tips are either all worn out, or they are all white on the side and blue at the tip. One seems grey on the side, prob from burnishing I would guess.
Correct: HOW tips are black, so something else is going on here. The only possible HOW tip is at 1:57, 2nd closest to the camera, & @2:52. The rest seem like ultra pigskin or something else
Broooo, my propel shaft got chipped. How is it even possible to chip a carbon fiber shaft. I'm so sad it's quite newwww. Shane pls help me get warranty and replacement 🥺🥺🥺
very sweet man humble and very self-conscious of his hearing issues which you see the interviewer picking up on almost immediately....the reason for his speech is the fact that he couldn't hear the words pronounced as a youngster....plus as you see he still relies on lip-reading to assist his hearing....
Professional pool players use whatever cues are provided by their sponsors. It's not the cue, its the cue holder that matters. Efren Reyes illustrated that when he was handed a cue at a pool demonstration and proceeded to make a difficult kick shot while his own cue case was hanging from his shoulder.
Shane is THE absolute f'n man! Affable is a complete understatement. Such a great guy! I've met him a few times. He signed a picture that still hangs in my basement. He'll only get even more fans after this video.
