What These Artists Really Think About Art School! 

They speak very intelligently. Their reasoning is both smart and sound. However, there is a problem among artists today: a proliferation of philosophers has emerged, who articulate their thoughts eloquently but struggle to translate their ideas onto the canvas. While their concepts may be promising, the execution often falls short due to a lack of practical knowledge. Art schools and academies have long ceased to function as they did in their classical form. It is quite unfortunate that modernists have begun teaching the younger generation of artists how to engage in philosophical discourse, rather than equipping them with the skills necessary to realize their ideas in a manner that is clear, appealing, and marketable. Instead, their works frequently appear incomplete, as if still at a preliminary stage. For artists, what they think about various matters is not as important. They can certainly articulate their thoughts, as is evident. What truly matters is their proficiency in classical practices. An art school or academy should first strive to develop a student into a competent classical artist before encouraging them to become a philosopher. A staggering 95% of contemporary artists struggle to find their footing because they lack skill in their craft. A good artist can captivate their audience without uttering a word, for it is the canvas that speaks most eloquently for the artist.
