She should absolutely be on the Olympic Team. The real question is ... would the other players play fairly with her? I've only been watching WNBA for a couple months (because of Caitlin) and all I see is jealousy.
@@quentelhill5074 , I don’t think she is entitled. This is just plain dumb. This was a huge opportunity for the Women to grow their game. The 42 year old player is not one of the best players anymore. If there wasn’t something personal between the older players in the league and Caitlin , she would be there. It appears right now that Caitlin Clark, could be capable of making a huge difference to the WNBA. She is their only big drawing card. She is selling out arenas all over the league. The players seem to be sabotaging this opportunity. I get it she would have no impact on the playability of the USA WOMENS BASKETBALL TEAM. The bigwigs who pay for this league can what is happening , they can’t be happy.
Not bringing Clark with them only shows, that they dont believe the rest of the team could stand Clark outshining them. They took the desicion to avoid fights breaking out. ^^
Would be amazing to see Americans cheering for Clark to win on an Italian team. If that did happen it would show the world how much of a bubble the WNBA is, and Clark is the needle that is popping it.
Only THIS could raise viewership to an even greater level than her being on USA would bring. Talk about must see tv. Would this make it the highest viewed sporting event in history?
Fever BEATS THE SKY TWICE! ITS OBVIOUS THAT SOMETHING VERY,VERY FISHY HAPPENED HERE! I DONT BELIEVED THAT THE TEAM OWNER DONT SEE,DONT HEAR and Do NOTHING?
Clark already has a few gold medals under her belt. She won her first gold medal at the FIBA Americas Under-16 Championship in Argentina. She led the United States to two other gold medals at the FIBA Under-19 World Cup in 2019 and 2021.
Those are the players on the international Olympic teams that will play in France. International play, under International rules, against International players. Seems that the No “experience” argument doesn’t hold water. Like @varj7’s argument.
Of course she is. But with the palpable hatred of her by dianasourus taurasi and other OG's on that team she should not go. She can use that time to get back into her practice regime and include a floater for when she drives and is blocked. She should also work on left hand dribble and drive. She is under attack not only from opposing teams but also from some of her team mates and coach. She just got a shooting green light at last nights presser so she can spend more of her game time on her own stats now.
Yes I plan to watch the All Star Game especially when I think I heard Caitlin and Angel may be on the same team. Wow, can you imagine those two pairing of together feeding each other the ball?
@@kennedybj1 Woops ! Come to think of it you may be right but if Angel, wants to show the fans she is a true champion she will pass off to Caitlin I hope. Ha Ha !
Angel will pass to herself off the glass just to prop up her rebound numbers... Later, she'll pass back to Clark when it should happen... but most of Clark's passes to Angel should end in high percentage shots by Reese... (lay ups, close up shots, uncontested shots, etc.)
If I was her I would hope that the womens team got shut out and sent home at the start and the next time it came up for anything allstart or otherwise I would turn them down saying if I was not good enough for the Olympics then I am not good enough for this
Hi. NBA fan since the Warriors got the ring 75' 76' Fun question. Is there any chance that C.Clark could tie or break Clay Thompsons's 3 points record at 13?
This is what happens when you have haters on the Olympic committee. They should be lookin on what she can bring to the team as far as FANS and revenue. This is a loss for the WNBA. The US Olympic committee messed up hard!!!! Oh yeah, forgot to mention that she’s the best player since the 1980’s. I know the league started in the 1990’s. But no one was as good as Cheryl Miller, until Caitlin Clark. Miller played for USC from 1982-1986 and is one of the top 25 all-time scoring leaders.
@shillery65 Was MVP in 2021 U19 at Debrecen Hungary. The current 2024 Olympic 3x3 team is made of 3 players from the 2019 U19 team that won gold (Brink, Howard, Van Lith)
The she's-not-one-of-the-best-12-players excuse is complete and utter bullshit. Clark already is the most complete guard in the league, the ONLY one among the top 16 players in points, assists, steals and blocked shots per game as well as 3-point field goal percentage. And she has done this as a rookie with one of the worst supporting casts (yes, coach included) in the league. By the end of the season, she'll be one of the top two or three best players at any position. Minimum.
@@Geewasright Clark attempts more passes than any player in the league. Furthermore, a review of game films confirms that approximately 40 percent of her turnovers are the result of teammates who lack the focus and/or hand-eye to catch a basketball consistently. Clark is too advanced for them, apparently, even though the WWNA claims to be a pro basketball league.
They'll find out when they get silver or bronze due to sub par players since they didn't want the current best player in the wnba just because she is a rookie
Mitchell is a score first, second, and third player. Doesn't do much else. Glad she is on Indiana, as she is able to spell Clark offensively (primarily by going into score mode) but definitely not better than Clark. Clark is by far a better all around player than Mitchell and better at making others better.
As soon as the Fever gets rid of Sides, and gets a coach that actually knows how to utilize the talents of the entire team. The Fever will be a force to be reckoned with. Sides has no idea how to coach those ladies.
@@locklife4336 They are now facing 8 games (five away and three home) heavily weighted against top tier teams through July 17th. They would be very fortunate to win half of them IMO. At that point they get a month off for the Olympic break. They need that time to get healthy and prepare for the last third of the season. As I understand it, their target is to just make the top 8 teams so they get to the playoffs. (is that correct?) They are 9th now in the league today with a 7 & 11 record. They are however 6 & 7 in their conference. Can anyone explain how conference standings come into play for the playoffs?
