Agree. I have been with her from first book, incredible wisdom, but boy, I had to stick to the books, so i didn't let her edginess turn me away from the teachings. Glad I kept coming back. Kind of interesting observing her journey. She has definitely helped me.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. But, I'm grateful that you got away. From such a toxic and dangerous person. You deserve to be healthy, happy, and safe. I divorced over 15 years ago. He was a raging alcoholic who lived to verbally and mentally abuse me. It was going in the physical abuse trajectory when he asked for the divorce. He also had an affair, but that was just the icing on the crappy cake that was our marriage. He also abandoned our profoundly autistic son. Hasn't seen him in 16 years. For years I hated my ex. But, with therapy and a renewed faith in a higher power (whatever name you want to give it, God, Buddha, Allah, etc.) facilitated my ability to forgive my ex and MYSELF. The latter is more important. I blamed myself for years for my marriage, my son's diagnosis (which is ludicrous), my bout with cancer, my crappy situation. I was so full of anger I wrote a fiction novel to escape my pain. But, it took me to forgive myself to heal. I was always afraid that if I forgave myself or my ex for the past, it was as if I was condoning the abuse. But,, forgiveness is not synonymous with forgetting. I wasn't forgetting how I had been wronged or how my ex wronged our son. That forgiveness was for me so that I could have some peace and happiness. It is still a process and very hard to do. But, my faith in something bigger than myself helped me to move on. I hope you get some peace in your life. I am sorry that you went through that, but you are a survivor now. You don't have to feel like a victim. You are a survivor and will be empathetic to others in a similar situation. Sending positive energy and thoughts to you. And one day you will celebrate the date of your divorce as your personal Independence Day. I do mine every November. Hugs!!
