Jfc. It’s not this complicated. 1) adding performance cats would 100% make it quieter than adding resonators. 2) the simplest thing to do would find search the forums and find a muffler you like with longtubes. Then cut out/unbolt the mufflers of the extreme, and put your new ones in. 3) put stock exhaust back on, and swap out mufflers.
Honestly bro, I think almost anyone could have told you catless LT headers + an aggressive muffler or axleback was gonna be extremely loud. Id say just stick the stock mufflers back on and see how you like that, sell the extreme mufflers for whatever you can get and swap out the tips, probably the best eaistest way to cut your losses and keep the power gains from your headers.
I love my extremes. Don’t have long tubes YET, but I think if you get your active working it would change your mind. Mine in quiet mode is quieter than stock.
I think you should keep it the way it is, I had the same setup and I enjoyed it. Maybe have a friend to drive the car and actually hear it under load outside the vehicle....you'd end up liking it more.
@@coderomes give it a shot man, personally it's the best sounding exhaust although it is obnoxiously loud. Magnaflow has too much drone inside the car, Solo performance is a nice exhaust setup but it has some slight drone and is still very loud too.
I personally think you should put your stock headers back on. On my 2020 GT, I only have the corsa extreme cat back with the active exhaust with stock headers. like you said in one your previous videos, “it sounds like a demon trying to escape the car”. that video of yours alone was the reason why I dropped 2k on that exhaust. best part is that when you put it in quiet mode, it actually goes quiet. it’s a tough decision to make, but i think you’ll be happy going back to just the cat back exhaust setup with stock headers. keep on the great content my man 👍🏼
I just ordered long tubes and I have extremes now. Knowing my neighbors, I knew I’d want to go quieter but my problem was cheapest axleback for corsa touring (ab) sport (cb) was $1300. So with the lethal performance HH pipe from corsa release, I saw their cat back was only $200 more so I’m gonna keep both mufflers depending on real life sound and sell the mid pipe to recoup some money. Figure you could always do the same.
If your goal is maximizing power and the sound bothers you i’d look into a new catback. If you are more focused on quality of tone/volume and only sorta want more power i’d put the factory headers back on and put that money to something else you’d like.
I’d put it back to stock exhaust for now. Sell the corsa get some money back. You’ll also get to see if your exhaust modes work with the stock exhaust on and if they do just keep it for a while until you decide to get a new exhaust down the line. I think I remember you saying you had bought the actuators for the active exhaust anyway to fix your active exhaust issue so you’ll have to drop your exhaust either way.
I can relate to your exhaust issue bro. I've contemplated in getting a set of corsa touring axlebacks. Also, ive heard that installing a pair of vibrant resonators towards the mufflers help reduce the volume about 25%. Someone from mustang6g told me this. Definitely keep the headers, they sound amazing. Btw corsa touring axlebacks with the double x pipe equals "sports catback" and the sport axlebacks with the double x pipe equals the "xtreme catback".
I think I’m going to try the Vibrant resonators first just to see if it can time it down enough for my liking. I don’t want to cut or weld the Corsa system so u was going to put them right after the headers but before the x pipe because there is a straight pipe right there I can take out and out the resonator. I wonder what the difference is between that and closer to the muffler? I just recently learned about adding the x pipe to a muffler makes it the next louder Catback. Thanks for the info!
@@coderomes yea I'm with you, I wouldn't want to cut up my catback either. Good question though, I'm really not sure if it would make a difference where you located the resonators.. if I were to do it, I'd place them were my current high flow cats are. That way by removing my cats, it would look like I still have cats in place.
i used to have roush axle back with x pipe and long tubes (probably close to corsa extreme in dB levels) i switched to corsa sport cat back. when you floor it, its still loud. at highway speeds you cant even hear it over the tires on the road.
I have kooks catted longtubes with Corsa sports and it's stupid loud and I feel like I'm annoying everyone around me. I keep the windows rolled up now. Xforce catback is on the way. The car's not fast enough to justify being that loud lol.
Fuck it bro put on the stock headers and sell me your old headers to me lol but all jokes aside do whatever you think is right for your ride and pockets
Corsa active axle back is the same mufflers that comes in the xtreme catback. Part numbers the same. The double x is what makes it extreme. Keep the headers. Put your stock resonator back on and have shop cut your stock exhaust after the resonator and put your corsa axle back back on. Problem solved and you will love it. Basically just replace the double x with stock resonator
the borla ford performance cat back might be an option, it’s pretty quiet but paired with the headers it should be not too quiet but not too loud. just throwin out suggestions
Even with a “sport” type muffler its going to be loud paired with the headers. Your better off looking into touring mufflers paired with headers, will still be loud but not as loud as your current setup.
Hey man just to throw it out there (could be an option) I have Kooks long tubes catless tied in with MBRP sports catback which comes with a H pipe. It is a full 3in system from headers to mufflers and when I’m cruising you would think it’s just a muffler change. Only time she screams is when I get on it. I know people don’t like a H pipe because they think it’s restricting but really there is really no difference with these new mustangs. Look into different H pipe brands who knows you might like one.
There is not sport w extreme active exhaust... just get the flowmaster tru x pipe it’s kinda a bulkier x pipe to cancel out the sound a little.... or go with mbrp street
It appears that your active exhaust is still broken, possibly it remains in track mode, so get that fixed (say an hour's labour) and then drive in normal or quiet mode.
Or I heard 2m sells an adapter for cats that allow you to install and remove at any time.im planning on running catted headers for my xtremes when the time comes so the sound is tamed while sounding amazing
Teflon 5.0 lol bro you straight piped a car and then paired it with the LOUDEST possible cat back there is for it. But in all seriousness get the MBRP street cat back. I have a ‘17 GT with off road headers. I swapped my cousins cat back on it because he wanted to get headers but wanted to hear how the MBRP street cat back would sound with the headers. The only time it gets loud is on a cold start and WOT pulls. Other than that they are a very mild volume exhaust compared to the extremes.
Teflon 5.0 oooof yeah I forgot about the active exhaust on the newer models. Not sure if they make them. You definitely would have to do some research.
