Never knew a thing about building a PC until this week. Watched your tutorials and was able to build a beast PC in a few hours. I am now a total computer nerd and am hooked on watching your build videos!
A very minor recommendation for DDR5 builders is that I wouldn't enable xmp UNTIL Windows is properly installed. It isn't a big issue with DDR4 but I've seen some instability with DDR5 even if the kit is rated at that speed on their website. It can be even more finicky if you're populating all 4 dim slots on your board. It is technically still an "overclock" at the end of the day and you'd want to remove any potential reasons that could cause hiccups during the installation process.
Nope not for me if i can't run xmp during windows installation means it ant gunna work properly then ull have to dial down speeds to see where its stable
If u cannot install Windows with xmp enabled u have a issue with ur ram and i would rather know during the installation process then getting into Windows and its lockes up while doijg stuff trust me ive been there ive had corrupted data from a pc locking up while moving data it ant pretty ive lost it all
There are a lot of key sellers and free tools available to activate Windows 11. I tried a few different sources but they all stopped working after a couple of months. After some in depth research, I found a company. They are not cheap but the activation is stable so far.
How did you get windows 11 did you use another windows computer or did you do it a different cause I can’t build my first pc cause I don’t have another windows computer to download windows 11 on
@@Michael12689 do you not have any access to any computers at all? Like maybe a friend? Parents? Or if you have a library near you.. just get a flash drive and install the Windows OS and you should be good to go. I’ve never seen anyone do it with a mobile device so I’m not really sure
@@gejamugamlatsoomanam7716 thx, i use 4x8 because i saw vids it could give up to 10% better performance and it seems to work fine (zen 3). GM and Hardware unboxed. But they also said stability is easier with two sticks.
Being a first time builder of a gaming/streaming/video editing pc this was incredibly useful! 🎉 I have to slow it down a bit to keep up but this was incredibly helpful. Much love my friend and keep up the great videos. ❤
I knew that i had to do this, i was an idiot and i didnt check what storage i had on my usb sticks so i had to get a new one that is coming later so i can only play the next day@hollowgonzalo4329
Hi, I downloaded windows 11 newly onto a usb and my existing pc that I used before doesn’t work anymore and says I’m not signed in, do you have any idea on what happened?
I want to build a PC for my first time sometime soon, and I thought I might as well go over some videos beforehand so I have an idea of what to expect. This guy is great at helping
Ive gotten all kinds of advice on how to install Windows 11 on my new gaming PC from programers and network engineers but this was simple and streight forward from the first turn on to system monitoring. You cleared up a lot of my questions

@@riyoszuwould i need to reset and reinstall windows again if I did this mistake? My game keeps crashing even with cpu and gpu temps down. My ram isnt faulty and I run a dual monitor set up 😢
Just built my first PC last night and I thought everything was setup correctly but there was no display, the pc turned on and the fans were spinning, RGB ram was lit up but the only thing I didint do was connect the mouse and key board as I didint think I’d need to press delete button a bunch of times, gonna try later tonight and hopefully that’s all it needs 😅 if so your a life saver as I’ve watched many other videos on why it won’t display and nobody mentioned you might have to press delete button a bunch of times.
ah finally, a good video for what to do after getting a new pc, just the put the cable on the gpu i never heard it before and on my there's protection on it so i couldn't see it. Thanks for this video!
Great video, but I personally had the problem that turning on the XMP profile for the ram before even installing windows completely messed up the bios and it started to freeze and windows installation went into a direct blue screen, also changing back didn't save. Resetting the bios and leaving the ram on lower MHz for now fixed the problem. Found this to be the reason since several people on the Internet experienced that before.
THANK YOU. MY GOD THANK YOU. My windows 11 installation kept crashing again, and again, and again, and I couldn't find the damn reason why. Did what you said and it worked. FInally, THANK YOU
@@-Sangral- did you manage to turn on the XMP in the end? Cause when I do it now Windows won't boot. I'll try updating the BIOS, but I'm afraid it won't fix it
@@alexya818 Yes I did, XMP on and there is a selection somewhere for the DRAM frequency I set that to auto and this worked. Does windows start without the XMP settings?
Thanks for the video! I've seen videos on updating Bios BEFORE install OS. 1) Is there an advantage to either updating Bios before or after installing the OS? You recommend Enabling the XMP for the RAM, and installing the OS, before updating the Bios? Thanks! 2) (I'm also installing DDR5, and my Bios will not Enable XMP yet. I'm figuring the bios flash is needed. (Also, the below post advises putting in Windows BEFORE enabling XMP on RAM. I'd like your thoughts. Thanks!)
My pc won’t connect to WiFi, and it doesn’t let me skip the section where it asks u to connect. I’ve downloaded the drives on a usb flash drive and plugged it into the pc but nothing new pops up. Please help
Press Shift+F10 to open a Command Prompt window and type in: OOBE\BYPASSNRO This will restart your PC and have you go through that setup process. Once you get to the network selection screen, you should see an option that says "Limited setup" or similar. Click on it and it will let you skip that part. Once you're at the desktop, you can install the drivers from the flash drive. Side note: This is one of the reasons a lot of people hate this arbitrary forced online setup that Microsoft is forcing people onto. There's no real reason for this and just causes problems like in your case.
I would imagine you figured it out by now but jayz2cents I believe us the name, he does a great one on windows install that's a little more in depth and it really helped when when installing windows on a pc the first time.
Great timing for this video. My build will start when I get the Ryzen 7700x in this week. Question: I purchased the Peerless Assassin RGB cooler for my Ryzen 7700x. I also purchased 2 addition case fans, also Thermalright RGB. Can I daisy chain the 2 additional case fans with the CPU fans, and use the single CPU fan plug on the motherboard (ASUS B650E-F), or should I connect the 2 case fans to their own fan port? Thanks for a great video.
you absolutely can daisy chain into a single cpu fan plug, you just won't be able to control each of the fan speed individually (if for some reason u want to)
I am starting a PC Building company and thanks to this I will not be scratching my head on what to do next. Incase you wanna buy one reply to this comment
I just finished building my pc and I activated xmp and it wouldn't boot up so I had to do a motherboard flash and I'm at the beginning again but my dram light on my motherboard is on should I update everything then do the xmp to see if it goes away it's extremely disappointing
I hope this hasn't reached you too late. You will need another computer to create the bootable media. You can technically order a flashdrive with the media tool on it, but it's not a quick solution. There are other solutions but they require more technical knowledge
@@murkdoesboxes4473 No problem, happy to help, I hope you get it solved soon. I can imagine it's frustrating to be that close to using the PC, just to find out you have to wait more! Let me know how it goes.
@@HunterMael I got it up and going. Just ended up going to Best Buy and getting windows. Pricey, but just wanted to hurry and use my first PC I built :)
Thanks for all the help I was planning to build a pc myself based on one of your past videos and you have been really helpful especially since it’s my first time.
@@Yeroccoi need to ask for first timer here , does i need to install driver for my gpu ( mine is asus tuf 3080 ) and how/where to download/upload my gpu driver?
@@lovecramperdrumpinthejoker5237 you’ll just go to your manufacturer’s website for your processor, gpu, and motherboard. The downloads are under support. You’ll download them, install them, restart your pc, and that’s pretty much it after you’ve assembled your pc. If you get stuck, reach out. My knowledge is limited but I built mine on my own so I know a little lol.
Finally I got it from keyr (Make sure to include the dot (.) between "keyr" and "org") I like some of the transitions, but sometimes they're a bit too much and are seemingly random. Since we use these persistent elements that transition across pages to indicate some kind of relationship between the previous and the next states, some of your transitions confuse me because I can't immediately see what the relationship is. For example 2:23 of the selectable tiles (which weren't selected) transition into being two switches... does that mean anything? are they related in some way? I see this as random and a bad use of the design language. However, at 1:14 I like the transition from switches to the ticks on a paper, that makes sense to me. Epic presentation tho
I actually found this video super informative, fun and interesting! Although I’m not exactly building my first pc (I’m getting a pre built from a 3rd party company that’s doing a better deal than buying the components separately, don’t hate), I still gotta install windows myself and knowing all these extra bits make me excited for when it arrives! I only have one question tho… with all the extra programs like MSI afterburner, could I install it on a usb and plug it in only when I need it? While yes, I’m using a 2tb on the pre built, I still want to save storage where I can… so which programs are a must have on the build and the others I can install on a usb? Thanks!
love your videos been helping me a lot with my recent PC build, me first one too! I cant get a display when I have my hdmi or displayport are connected to my 4070 ti but I can get display when connected to my motherboard.. any thoughts on what i could do? (i've tried reconnecting my gpu to motherboard)
I am working on this bootable drive part of the video and it is a little unclear. You start at the windows page to download the file and then immediately jump to installing the flashdrive and it looks like when you plug in the flashdrive, the website immediately starts downloading and formatting the flashdrive to a bootable version of windows. Any chance you can clarify? The video is great, that part just seems a little unclear
The website is to download the media creation tool. He runs the tool after its downloaded and the tool then downloads the files necessary for a Windows install and then prepares the flash drive for the files. The website itself doesn't do anything on the flash drive.
I just built my gaming pc and installed windows but I cannot connect to wifi. I know that it is not a problem with my antenna, so I’m assuming it’s a software issue. It’s basically forcing me to use Ethernet which I cannot do. What can I do to solve the issue?
@@sonjaran make sure that your motherboard actually has integrated wifi into the machine. If it doesn’t, then you’re going to have to buy a wifi card and install that into a pcie slot, or use an ethernet cable to proceed
it could be that your motherboard doesnt come with wifi. a quick check of the motherboards make and model will tell you. if thats the case you can pick up a wifi card quite cheap. just be sure to get one thats good for gaming i.e wifi 6 802.11. if your motherboard does come with wifi capability than maybe wifis disabled in your router
Could you help me with my PC please? When I go on Steam to play Elden ring(I'm new) it loads a white screen then a black screen followed by my home screen and that has happend every time that I've tried to load Elden Ring. I just want to play some Elden. Any help is appreciated.
Well yeah.... That's the way its been done for decades my dude. A PC without an operating system won't do anything useful. Microsoft is a business and they're in the business of selling Windows among other products. Unofficially, you can install Windows 10/11 without paying for it. You won't be able to personalize your PC and a watermark appears. Other than that, everything else works the same as if you paid for Windows. Or you can opt to use a free Linux distro if you want to try something completely different to Windows.
Yep. You're not actually installing the drivers on the USB. You're just copying the driver files to the flash drive so that you can then install them on your new PC.
@@twentyjeans4234I would do it. if you try running the setup file from within the zip file, it will either only run the install file which will fail because it needs the rest of the files or it may extract them to a temp location and then run. I would just extract them and install.
All PC Builders in RU-vid seem to skip installing legally Operation Systerm, and they do not shows how to installed OEM DVD Operation Systerm or how to legally have WIndow.
This is great because I'm wanting to build my own pc but am scared of messing up something or downloading the wrong thing. The only question I have is how would I transfer everything from the old pc to the new built gaming pc? Would I just download the apps again like steam, ubisoft ect; and just login and everything is there or do I need to get a flash drive and transfer everything over?
How about running windows update before you do any thing else, then look at drivers and defiantly don't turn on XMP or the AMD equivalent until every driver has down loaded.
You're confusing 2 very different things. 4:00 has absolutely nothing to do with the BIOS.... If no drives show up in that list, make sure the drive you want to install Windows onto is securely connected to the motherboard and that it is detected in BIOS.
Technically you're supposed to pay for Windows if you're doing things by the book. Unofficially, Microsoft lets you run Windows 10/11 indefinitely without paying for a product key. You won't be able to personalize your PC and a watermark appears. Other than that, everything else works the same as if you paid for it.
When I turn on my newly built pc, i just get a black screen with a small white line in the top corner, ive tried a lot of stuff and it keeps doing the same thing.
Once you verify that ALL internal components and cables are installed correctly, clear the CMOS. Refer to the motherboard manual for instructions. See if that helps.
I'm super confused about the drivers part. Do I have to download the drivers from another computer onto a flash drive and put the flash drive in my new pc, or do I just download the drivers straight onto my new pc?
In most instances, it doesn't really matter how you do it. A lot of these channels advice downloading the drivers onto the flash drive so you can quickly install them as soon as Windows is installed. In essence, you're doing part of the work before hand so that the drivers are ready for install. It also may come in handy in the event that your Windows install doesn't have network drivers built in. In that instance, you would need to download the drivers on another working PC and then transfer them to your new PC via flash drive.
I have a question, when I booted up my system for the first time, everything worked perfectly except for the case fans, they weren’t lighting up or spinning despite being pre plugged in ti the case when I got it
Double check to make sure the fans are connected correctly to the fan headers. If your PC case came with a fan controller, make sure you connected the power to that controller.
Extra stuff Make your hz rate to its max on settings Turn off mouse acceleration Don’t plug the pc into a extension Don’t unplug the system and make sure weather is good so when you update your bios your pc isn’t screwed
I’ve done weeks and weeks of research, super confident. All my pieces finally arrived today. Yeah I’m like wait wait wait, what do I do again? I’ll be building and setting this mfker up for the next 2 days 😂
So in a nutshell after installing windows through bios boot up screen, download motherboard drivers (something for cpu, audio, vgma if needed, ethernet/lan and wifi or whatever else you need), gpu drivers (could just download geforce now for nvidia gpu's so it does it for you), and then if theres any rgb lighting that can be controlled via software download the correct software for that (e.g. icue for corsair rgb). After thats done check ram speed and temps any problems change speed of ram in bios settings and troubleshoot?
