Hi doc I had rct yesterday morning I was ok because of the numbing but now the day after it is hurting and throbbing on the side of the rct it's hurting worse now in the evening than it was in the morning or the afternoon. I haven't eaten on the side of rct should I be concerned I was told there maybe pain for a couple of days after but it didn't hurt last night but now hurting tonight

The filling in my tooth after root canal is put very roughly. No smooth finish to the filling. Also the opposite side of the pair is not touching each other.normally all teeth close right and left corner ones? Plz suggest what to do

@@r.s.1597 Hi.. No problems at all - i did not even had a temporary crown. I did the salt. I also use clove oil with coconut oil for oil pulling. Clove suppose to help with pain. I only took pain killers the first day after the anesthesia wore off. No antibiotics were prescribed, though i did take extra garlic pills just to make sure.. My face was swollen 2 days really bad, and then finally to normal in maybe a week. Sending you healing vibes!!!

@@IsAllAboutHealth its paining now .. lil headache i have .. actually i have 3 teeth permanent bridge .. n those 2 teeth which r used for bridge were paining. So dr said to root canal . Its done today . Hope i don't need to do again . Insha Allah

@@humanbeing9433 it depends on individual healing. Some people feel alright from the second day. Some teeth may need more time. Try to take small morsels of food and chew soft food only. Once filling and cap has been completed you may start eating normal food.

hello Mr. Bilal. I understand your concern about the root canal and crown. RCT treatment has a very good success rate and the results lasts really long but it depends majorly on how we use the tooth after the treatment.what kind of care we take after the root canal and cap. how many times we visit the dentist for regular cleaning an checkup. Dear docter during endodontic procedure Acidic ph are high.... Warm saline can cause apical swelling.

Sorry your information is wrong. Saline has neutral ph it does not cause apical swelling. Infact endodontic research papers recommends use warm hypo and saline for irrigation for disinfection of canals.

Hello yes in some cases it is possible to replace one tooth with other. It is known as auto tooth transplantation..

Hello thankyou for your comment. String floss is good but it is cumbersome to use specially on the back teeth. You may continue using water flosser it work really well

@@ivorydentalclinicseawood I appreciate your reply, but I have already started using string floss 😅 I find it nice because I can see all the stuck food come out and my teeth feel really clean after. First day got my gums bleeding a little bit but after that my gums never bled again. I watched a bunch of tutorials on how to floss correctly and I hope that it gives me better oral hygiene

mr. anil sorry for late reply. i hope this has been sorted. after root canal some minor pain is very common. because we do the cleaning and shaping in the tooth so it induces minor vibrations. it settles down in sometime.

Doctor i done my RCT yesterday and while doing my treatment my doctor said 'you doesn't need a cap after the RCT because around your tooth is in good condition so don't a cap' . So what i do now doctor, cap is mandatory after RCT.

Thankyou for asking a relevant question. The answer will help many people. Bleeding from the tooth is not from root canal.. Bleeding happens when plaque food debris calculus or tartar gets stuck near the gum line and gum get inflamed and swollen. Bleeding from gums of that tooth means home cleaning is not effective, still some food is getting stuck which you should get cleaned scaled and polished by your dentist. Just like it's not possible to do a good haircut on yourself similarly it's not possible to clean 100% in your own mouth that's y it is highly recommended by who to get a professionaly cleaning done every 6 months to maintain good orao hygiene. Also get your cap checked for any gaps.

Dr.. I hv done my root canal of left premolar yesterday.. I already had swelled gums.. But after this pain is less but swelling is more than before .. Also one side of lower lip is swollen.... Is it normal.?

Please check with your treating dentist.sometime there is a condition known as flare up which happens commonly after root canal in those teeth which have had a cavity in them since a long time . Flare up is just the body fighting off the infection and then it gives a swelling or pain.this is normal and subsides in a week. To know your exact condition please visit your treating dentist who can examine and evaluate wether you have a flare up or something else has caused the swelling.

Not necessary. Usually at our centre root canal is done in a single sitting of 1.5hrs. In 90 percent cases we give Anaesthesia only once. But it does depend on level of infection expertise of doctor what technique and equipments were used and stage of decay in tooth. Trus your dentist and go for the best option.

@@nikhilpant6428 if it only on tapping and not on chewing food you can ignore this. Root canal induces mild vibrations due to which this sensation might be felt to some patients for a linger time than other. These are not harmful and do not cause any long term issue

I understand your concern. usually no dentist will treat both sides together unless its an emergency. after treatment the tooth is reduced in height so it wont touch the opposite one

Hello Mr. Warrior. Kindly visit your dentist for a through examination. Mild pain or sensitivity is expected after root canal but should subside in a week. Having pain for a month is unusual

Yes @sakshi sachdeva in most cases it is necessary to make the tooth string by putting a cap on the tooth. Cap protects the tooth just like a helmet.. final decision to put cap or not with be taken by your dentist after examining the extent of decay and the bite analysis. Sometime caps can be avoided in patients whose tooth did not have a major decay or in those where biting pressure is very low. We ar ivory dental clinic have progressed to an even advanced version of caps known as onlays. These are small yet strong customized ceramic Shells which are out on the chewing surface of the teeth to prevent from fracture . These are much better than traditional caps because inlays help to save the tooth structure. Hope it was helpful.

Hello Doctor, Usually if a dental abscess is involved in the furcation area of a premolar, do you feel it can be treated with a good RCT and antibiotics while replacing Calcium Hydroxide for some period or a tooth hemisection or may be a permanent implant is the only solution? I am asking this with respect to a patient who is asymptomatic with no pain at all and RCT doesn't look promising due to furcation involvement. Just that the symptom that the patient got was a lil gum swelling which is healed now already with antibiotics and RCT though some infection still looks to be present in the furcation area.

Hello doctor, As a rule we always try to save the tooth first by doing a good root canal. If so some reason the tooth does not respond to nsrct then next step is to to do apicectomy and eradicate infection surgically. Last option is tooth removal .

After 3 months maintain regular followups with your dentist and clean the area where treatment was done properly by two times Brushing and flossing. Specially near edges of cap. Watch my other videos to learn how to brush

Please do not eat hard foodstuffs before doing your crown. There's a high chance that tooth might fracture under normal chewing forces.

Please visit a qualified dentist (periodontist) specialist in treating gum disease. They will help you out. Till then rinse mouth with warm salt water and keep brushing properly after every meal

Bleeding from Gums can be a sign of gum Disease. Please get it checked. It can also happen because of food getting stuck near that tooth.

If you are taking medication of antibiotics and painkillers then avoid taking alcohol because of interaction of medicines. Smoking is not a problem post root canal. Although we do not recommend that you continue smoking and alcohol for other health reasons.

Hello Doc, I got RC done for three of my teeth (on either side of my mouth) the thing is one of those teeth was abscessed and infected, and the pain was unbearable. I was prescribed antibiotics after an xray, and a root canal was scheduled two after. I was told I would start to feel relief after 2-3 doses of antibiotics, but that was not the case. And now, after the root canal my pain is still the same..its unbearable. The antibiotics (amox) is on, and inspite of taking anti-inflammatory painkillers there is no relief. I am really beside myself with pain. I am based in US (would have traveled to India if not for Covid) ..please can you advise what I can do?

And now with advanced equipments and technology root canal treatment has become more painless and predictable.
