Starting IB in a month from home. Thanks Covid :) if the program is hard seeing your teachers and having your classmates it’s going to be a long ride doing this alone from home.
This may be strange to ask, but do you know how to prepare Drama HL? I pick it out of interest though without any foundation. If you have answers, please PLZZZZZZZZZ reply. THANK YOUUU
Tomorrow my Journey at IB Begins. I have been studying many subjects from IGCSE, because unfortunately I do have HUGE gaps... most of it has already been solved thou, but only at the grades that I plan to take as HL...
Freshman year was horrible, and I admit its completely my fault. I am going into sophomore year, I procrastinate way too much and I foresee this is going to be a problem when I actually get into IB. What should I do?
Relax, I improved my grades dramatically only in mid second year. You're not alone. Start by organising your resources, reading up on all the material you missed first year (mainly those that that are prerequisites for future chapters) and get back on track.
Your Videos are great!! I wish I had seen this video before starting the IB last year, would've saved me from much stress😂. I'm in the middle of IB now and still have 3 1/2 weeks until school starts. Apart from the EE, IA's and stuff what do you think I can do to prepare for the final year?
Hey stranger 😂 me too. I have HL (Bio, Chem and Psych) and SL (English Lang&Lit, Czech and Math AI). Wish me luck cause with Ib, I also have a job on the weekend, internship, two AP classes with certificates from Bio and Chem. It’s gonna be a tough year. Wishing you luck too ❤️
Toomas It’s been a great year because I got to meet new friends who struggled with me hehe... tbh its not that bad but you have to push yourself to get a 7 for an exam or else you will just get a 5 or 6. I changed my Chi B to my mother tongue (Filipino) and found it easier so you might wanna take your mother tongue instead... Hope you are doing well in IB :)
Do you recommend taking 4 HLs and 2 SLs. I go to the American Embassy School, an International School in New Delhi, India. I have submitted my course registration to my counselor form for August 2019 with HL History Y1 HL Mathematics Applications and Interpretations Y1 HL ComSci Y1 HL Economics Y1 SL Spanish B Y1 SL English A: Language and Literature Y1
Usually you can ask a teacher who works with helping which uni to go to. Also every university has different criterias than others but you usually have to take a science subject in HL, math in SL or HL and the rest idk it depends
being prottasha i am watching a lot of videos to kind of get an idea 🥴the teachers did not start to teach yet they told to us how does IB works and stuff.. From where are you?
How to be confident when giving a presentation about something. I'm not confident since i have been bullied a lot. I always picture people laughing at me and talking bad about me.
Karina Kjøs i just got accepted into ib and i'm so scared because everyone says it's hard but i did get good points in the entrance exam. I'm lacking that confidence that i need. All my classmates study in diffrent school and i'm in another. I have given presentation, i just haven't given a lot in english and sorry for my english it's really bad.😥😥
At the school I'm starting we don't get the tests back (so I don't know if I got a good score or not), we only get informed if we got accepted or not (I got accepted). But the thing is that there where foreigners that finished the on hour test in like 15 min. But even though I'm not that worried. When it comes to having a presentation you really just have to practice and slowly understand that everyone is different and that not everyone cares if you make a mistake during your presentation or not
Selma most of the one's who got accepted into ib, english is their native language and mine is not. I speak about 5 diffrent languages and in the entrance exam most of them had problems with math which wasn't a worry for me because i had studied them at home. They gave us about 4 hours to do the whole test which includes math, three english essay (first one 700 words and two others 500 words ) and last one was test in your own mother tongue. A lot of foreigners finished the test in the first hour and that made me more nervous. But i know no one is perfect and we learn from our mistakes and we are allowed to do mistakes during presentation. When it comes to presentations i just have to practice till i'm confident to speak in front of anyone and work hard alwas because hard work will pay off. By the way I'm really curious how was your test? 😊
Okay so I had about 10 days to study for the two tests, one english exam and the other maths. I may have 'over studied' because usually I'm average when it comes to math but honestly it was a very simple test. The same goes to the english one where we had to write a speech (mine was abouth 2-3 pages long). In Sweden we can apply for max like 10 different schools (gymnasiums) so some of the people I did the test with could have had IB as the last option but for me it was the first since the school who has IB is a very hard school to get in. Anyway they only accept 30 students and about 60+ did the test. Then again they usually pick the ones who got the highest points on the test and has Ib as a first, second or third option. So every school that has IB can pretty much do it easy or super hard (your was for an example MUCH harder than mine probably). Also sweds are like ... let's just say that we might study and focus on things other countries do not focus on so therefor the test had to be easy since every student coming from a country has learnd different things. Btw sorry for the bad english, I'm blaiming it on the time in sweden rn ... It's like ....idk 2am lol
For Economics: See my economics self study video Business: Its a lot of theory - a lot of people miss easy marks in the Financial statements portion and CUEGIS(which I have a video on) Math: PatrickJMT + ExamSoluitons + IBVodcasting videos
+Nathan Mendoza I think you should study for the pre-admission test first before looking at IB at all. I'm not sure about the content for the pre-ib test ( I never did one ) but I'm assuming it's based on IGCSE concepts.
You guys had admission tests?! Aww... I feel so bad for you. All I had to do was write an essay about compassion. Maybe it's because my school is new to the IB program. I'm also in Grade 8.
I'm starting pre dp as well next year (technically I've been in pre ib since 6th grade but idk if count that) and i never had to take an admissions test either. I think it's a Canada thing. I just sent in an application and they picked students at random
the Pearson textbook is good and the Oxford guide. for options the Cambridge guide is useful. the tip to score in chemistry is to focus lesser time in memorising the theory. for chapters 1 to 5 it's best to understand the concepts behind and study from the guide and spend more time solving past papers
lolz in my city we have IB in middle school so I've been in it since 6th grade but I'm starting high school in September. I'm taking DP Spanish because I already have 3 years of Spanish from middle school. i’m gonna pull a hannah baker if my teacher in high school is anything like my teacher rn😳
PERFECT!! That’s exactly what I’m doing, I’ll start my IBDP after 3 months and I already have study guides and all types of textbooks for each subject. But since you did the IB exam could you please suggest some sites that offer full subject notes, cuz i’m currently doing my IGCSE exams and I use revision notes from a website called z-notes, so if you know any other similar website that has notes for IB then I would really appreciate it if you kindly tell me the name of the website :)
Hi! Could you also suggest useful websites/youtube channels for notes/advice/explanation? My subjects are: Psych HL English Lang & Lit HL History HL German SL Math SL Bio SL
