Another awesome video Adam. Can I just add, whenever you open your wheel to look for anything (water/dirt/damage) ... check everything. Make sure the L hanger bolts are tight, check all plugs are plugged in properly, look for pinched wires, cracks in shell and look at the guide line on the tire to make sure it is even. Don't just open your wheel to say, look for water/moisture... find none and shut the wheel again.... while it is open, look at everything... even use a magnifying glass and flashlight. Also, take some pics so after you have checked the tightness of everything and have put the sides back on... you can look at the pics and inspect it again, or compare pics once you open it up next time. One thing I found with getting the tire aligned on the rim, sometimes if the tire guide line is too far out or in at the valve stem... you have trouble getting it right on the other opposite side.... it can help to push the valve sten in half way which allows to tire to move... whereas if there is still a few pounds of air in the tube, that can stop the tire from being moved right at the valve area.
Excellent ... Great content as always Adam. I've said it many times and I'll say it again- you are the the foremost authority on EUC tech. I appreciate all the time and effort that you contribute to providing vital information for EUC enthusiasts. It's clear that this is your life, you live, eat, breathe & sleep and everything there is to everything E. U. C. ... Thanks again. You will probably read these same words again, next time I feel I should comment.
Another great video, as always. Regarding the aching feet, I found switching to different pair of shoes helped me massively. I now only ride with a pair of light walking shoes. A harder, rugged sole made a huge difference and allows more leverage when leaning.
Consistently creating some of the best EUC content - thanks Adam! Your page is where I send new riders for learning; it's a great combination of information and entertainment. V8f (~650 miles) went into vibrator mode due to the left pedal hanger bolt loosening - total disassembly. V8f (~500 miles) motherboard died - partial disassembly. V8f battery died (~600 miles) - partial disassembly. S18 (~1600 miles) went into full front/back knock mode until the left suspension bolts tightened and thread locked - partial disassembly. Both wheels need a new tire. MTen3 (~800 miles) keeps cruising along ... no issues. In both loose pedal cases, I didn't notice it until near failure as it is gradual. It's scary how loose they were. I'm checking those big bolts monthly now as part of the maintenance routine. Keep up the great work and safe riding!
Absolutely love this kind of videos on different aspects of living with your euc , riding, analyzing and repairing, overhauling and the like! Reviews on new euc:s are also nice, but we’re not buying as often as riding and experiencing the euc we have, so I personally find vids like this one the most interesting and useful. Having said that, please keep also doing all those reviews on new euc:s, I find your reviews among the most honest ones and really analytic, educational, still fun.👍
I have an inmotion V8S and I was having significant pain in my feet and calves. I adjusted the balance angle to plus 1 and it made all the difference in the world. If your EUC has a setting for that, I’d recommend experimenting with it.
Hey man! Nice video, really useful! Here's an idea for a new video: could you talk about your encounters with police, if they ever stopped you and how those situations turned out? Keep it up mate!
What a comment for me to see hahaha. I live here in NW-Florida, and I actually just had some cops pull over and ask me about it. Thankfully, where I live they're pretty chill, but they were all smiles. They asked me what it is, is it hard to ride, how do you ride it, how far can you go, how do I balance it, etc. I was showing them how to ride it and explaining it to them for about 15 minutes, and they told me to just be safe and careful, and that they've noticed me out riding but were always curious to ask just *what* it is. So, while your mileage may vary, here in NW-Florida they were pretty kind about it, and the townsfolk here love it as well as it's my daily commuter!
@@Daggenthal Nice! Thanks for the reply man ^^ I live in Spain and here all PEVs are limited to 25km/h, no matter the road xD Just a thing to have in mind. Police will stop you if they see you over that speed, which makes sense, but also at random to check if everything is alright. I guess it depends on country, police officer, mood... I think that the key is what you say. Keep it chill, explain and tell about the vehicle, spread that it is not dangerous and yeah, that's it! Haha +good luck 😂 Cheers man! So cool being able to talk with somebody across the globe ^^ Still gets me 😊
@@GranDemo2 I hear you there about talking with others from the other side of the world! Enjoy riding your EUC and be safe :D I've been riding for almost 2 weeks now and I just hit 240 Kilometers! Tons of fun, enjoying it lots and riding as much as I can, daily :D
Thank you for bringing up the direction of wheel patern. I got confused with the Micheline tire as its a MC front tire. All good as i mounted it as a MC rear tire with the patern pointing forward.
I do find that trying different shoes for me makes a difference. For instance a trainer can have a wedge sole design and VANS are just flat. I prefer the flat design as I dont have to stand too much on my toes to keep the wheel going. This is also where the pads come into play that you can just use your shins to keep the power on the forward tilt. Awesome tips
Good information, I would add some more. 2:25 its better to use automotive / bike method for tire trueing. Deflate the tire, use soap water on the tire walls. Inflate the tire to maximum allowed pressure, deflate the tire to your targeted pressure. This way you should get consistent result. If not its maybe because the tire was stocked in deformed shape. 9:38 I would emphasize to not drive and test with EUC with that problem because it can completely damage itself beyond repairable. Service it as soon as possible. 14:48 Also the first thing to disconnect / last thing to connect is the battery plug to be sure that you wont switch on the wheel in semi-assemebled state even accidentaly. This can be dangerous and also damage your euc. 15:10 be extremely careful with separating the rotor / stator. The forces involved could easily pinch -> injure you.
most gotways end up doing it. both of my do. That being said I'm going to take them apart today and tighten everything one by one. It makes sense this could happen given the regular bumpy riding I put into them
@@treasuredcollectibles My v10f had a weird airy grind-hiss noise from the beginning and I don't know anyone else who has one so I couldn't be like "is this normal?" It's probably the way the motors work if multiple brands do it.
Great topic! Very helpful. Thanks for sharing. You gonna do a review or share your thoughts on those kinetic pads? Maybe you have and I just haven't seen yet.
talking about euc problems, what do you think the next eucs will look like? More with suspension, higher wh batteries, higher capacity with higher discharge etc
With motorcycle tires, direction had more to do with how force is applied. Rear tires are made to take force under acceleration and front tires are made to take force under braking. If you get a front motorcycle tire, I would(and have) mount it backwards. Though at the speeds and forces involved with EUC I doubt it really matters much.
Do it asap. Have a load of fun, gain experience so that when you decide to pick up one of th3se, you'll be ready for the increase in performance and speed they might offer.
Amazing video! I've been riding EUCs and watching EUC content for a year and I've learned a lot from this video! Love the firesak transition, we definitely need more funny scene changes. 😆Also cute photo of you and monokat on the right wall there! Do you have any advice for pedal angles (forward and back) that can be configured in the app?
I just received my 1st euc! A new batch KS16x. Should I do any of this stuff to it before I use it, like the alignment stuff. Actually, knowing a good routine for out of the box check point inspection for eucs to make sure everything is good to go would be great. I know with my escoot you do screw and wire checks and arranging of the cockpit. All the learner videos are about how to ride, which is great, but I feel that’s not the first step. wesołych świąt (I’m Polish American, and that and words for food are about the extent of my Polish 😊)
Have you tried putting oil made for lubricating air tools into the air shock to help with seal lubrication and sealing. A little goes a long way, maybe a drop or two in the schrader valve from time to time.
very useful video! although maybe for suspension there could be more things to consider when doing a tire change to prevent binding for example, might be good to also cover those issues. and what shoes are you wearing?
When I do a free spin on my 8f, the tire slowly slows down. But on my new Nikola plus the tire stops very quickly and you hear some clicks towards end the tire completely stops very fast. I can also feel that it starts vibrating after 30mph and can hear some clicking. The wheel is brand new
I was trail riding on my 14S when braking started to shake the wheel violently. Only a little at first but I ended up have to walk home due to the epileptic seizure the wheel was having, Found out when I opened it...the pedal hanger literally fell off the motor...all the screws loose.
Thanks a lotfor all your videos and the tones of information we can find in 👍 I've got the HERO and i would like to know the right size for a street tyre : is it 90/80, 80/80, or 80/90. I use to ride my Z10 and i love wide tyre but i'm not shure that a 90mm wide tyre could fit, even if it is a street.
Great stuff, but we're two sherman riders in my town, and we both can see the tire wander side to side when looking down while riding, is there anything we can do about this? My V2 shermy motor is brand new, and we double and triple checked the tire alignment when swapping motor the day i bought the EUC. The shaft didn't look bent, no obvious faults with the rims either,, but still they wander side to side (and you can feel it in lower speeds)
You can get it pretty much gone my massaging the tire around with some soap and reinflate/ deinflate a few times. I’ve never felt it while riding, just notice it if you stare at your tire. Thank
Regarding battery not charging to 100%. Both 2 bms replaced then balanced battery packs showing 100.7v, then when euc app/darknessbot is connected, it is off by 1.2v. Charger shows 100.7v in the tester and port shows the 100.7v. Charger goes green light at 93% Is it still safe? Or is something like the motherboard is measuring incorrect voltage.
My euc fell at low speed and the wheel started spinning and when it stopped it wouldn’t self balance and after a minute or two it fixed it self but it said fault warning? Has anyone ever experienced this
Hey brother my ks16x turns on and rides fine but it's not holding any charge I have about 86 percent battery level right now I have a 5amp charger it's reading green when I plug it in ,so I know it's not charging did burn out the bms ?
totally, I'm old so I have to stretch for a while and it still takes me usually 30 minutes to get pumped up. I didn't stretch at first and that was a mistake.
Michelin city pro on the Sherman- is it mounted tubeless pls? i tried it on the RS- much more work for the motor aka more controller heat. is it ok on the sherman?
Yo… my brother.. can you please help??? Or anyone… I have the AR begode Nikola…Hello I was trying to update my firmware on my alien ride Nikola today. The update only got to 62% and then my phone went to sleep mode and the update did not go any further…. Now the wheel flashes red but it does connect to the app, and I have tried to continue the update just by going through the steps again. I have my phone beside the wheel and it has been almost an hour? What should I do… I can not power off the wheel unless I unplug battery connector and then it does the same thing all over again. I does NOT want to finish update. I can not use the wheel? Thank you for any help?
Amazing timing, my 2 month Nikola+ just started creaking. >_> Taking a long shot, would you say this is also a bearing issue? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K2uh_DCsYJI.html Only on the one side, 1k km mileage, 3 full days completely dry weather, noise appeared after charging at the office. Happens on X amount of wheel travel or each full cycle(as you mentioned). More often and louder when going forwards than backwards.
@@mr_wrongway Thanks a lot for checking it out, buddy! Didn't expect an answer, but feeling very at peace now. 🙌 :) It probably isn't a good idea to keep riding it like this, right? :D
@JM Coulon could you define 'significant'. Early batches had a weak shell. The trollyhandle has a spinkill switch, which could cut out the 16x, if the switchhas been compromised. Software issues etc.
