As a drummer controlling bt, this would be some Inspector Gadget move lol! It has happened a couple time in my career but it was just a shut it off and wait til the next song.
I’m my early days of using backing tracks in the mid 80’s. I was using a keyboard workstation. Drummer was the only person with IEM’s listening to click. When I would hear the singer get off, I had a gain boost pedal to boost the volume level of our stage monitors about 6db to kinda force the singer back on. This was the old school way of doing it. If my drummer would get off he would do a 1/4 note on kick drum until he could get back in beat.
