Hi Brian, I have just recently started subscribing to your videos and I'm learning some great tips and ideas (using film photography)...I have also purchased your book 52 assignments street photography... cant wait for it to arrive.Keep up the great videos...Hugely inspirational stuff!😁📸

A bit of a strange subject, given that even during "lockdown" we have been able to move around ... No gun wielding police here in the UK. Even more strange, as I contracted COVID19 and ended up in the ICU of the very hospital that I work in. I found the time that I had after my stay in hospital proved to be the ideal time to shoot even more than normal. The daily walks before my inevitable return to work actually replaced my daily photo walk that is my walk to work. Not a dull moment in "lockdown" ..... No excuses for not getting in the daily shots.

Another good one Brian. All very useful tips and ideas. The other thing I liked here is that I finally got a look at your library of books behind you. I already have your 52 Assignments and your Mastering Street Photography and enjoyed them. I’m a bookworm and love books and now I have a bigger list to work on! Just ordered my FujiFilm X-Pro 3 today and looking forward to diving into street photography. Your videos are full of inspiring ideas, here’s hoping I can put some of them into action.

Thanks Brian, excellent video. I particularly appreciated the tips about learning new skills, working on projects and actually reading all the photography books and magazines that I’ve accumulated! I’m working my way through a load of the video tutorials I picked up in the 5daydeal last autumn and have embarked on a macro project whilst in confinement. I look forward to your next video!

I always did my photo books with Blurb and I absolutely love their print quality! I also have one linked with amazon for sale! I haven’t sold many but its awesome to know we have this option! Helps with our confidence knowing we can sell our books!

Hi Niko, yes, it's great the way Blurb links to Amazon. It's not the cheapest book publisher but the quality is good and it's easy to use. I use Blurb a lot. Happy New Year!

Great channel Brian glad I've found it, just ordered your book mastering street photography. Have you seen the FujiXWeekly, he has created film simulation recipies for loads of different looks great to spend more time shooting than editing.

Some excellent and inspirational advice as always, thank you Brian. Is there an online course that you could recommend to learn the basics of light? There are so many courses, it's hard to distinguish the good from the bad.

Thanks, April. A lot of the online courses available are a bit flimsy and you'd get just as much benefit from a good book (such as 'Analog Photography' by Andrew Bellamy - a good theoretical starting point). Have a look at the short courses run by City Lit in London too.

Brian, could you please tell us where those frames with Venice prints are from? I have difficulty in finding frames which aren’t either rubbish or extortionately expensive!

Hi Max. I share your pain with frames and I always struggle to find decent off-the-shelf frames. The Venice prints were framed at my local high street framing shop and I found that having bespoke frames made didn't cost much more than ready made ones. John Lewis may be worth a try - I found theirs decent quality, if a bit limiting in choice. Good luck!

Tip no1 ... Use the money that they've tried to get you spending on books / courses on something else ... ie: a camera. Tip no2 ... Get out there, as you aren't locked up during "lockdown" Tip no3 ... stop watching so many RU-vid videos, and get out with your camera. Tip no4 ... Don't listen to your critics, just shoot what you like to shoot in the way you want to.
