We're back in Marseille! It was pretty cool to get to experience this multicultural city twice, once in the summer and again in winter during the holidays. You definitely skip the crowds in winter, that's for sure! Have you ever been to Marseille?

Excellent tour of Marseille. I have never seen it look so clean! If you ever go there again and have a layover of at least 4 hours, take the train to Aix-en-Provence (40 min trip).... it is a very quaint picturesque town with lots to see!!!

We named our 3rd baby - a girl ('Marsei') - after Marseille. Never been, but I'm a big fan of The Count of Monte Cristo book. How did you find the air quality this time of year?

I love that name, it’s so pretty and unique! I would say the air quality seemed really nice and clear! Tbh tho I live in LA so I don’t know if I’m the best judge of good air quality or not 😂🙈

Hi - We will be in Marseille in a few weeks and was wondering where you go the tram to Palais Long Champ please? Is it easy enough to find? We will be getting the shuttle from the cruise terminal to where ever it drops us off (not quite sure!). Thanks in advance.

Ok, so first of all, the shuttle from the cruise port will drop you off,(or at least for us when we came to marseille the first time with virgin voyages) dropped us off in the old port, which is definitely a great starting point to start your day in marseille, I've been to Marseille twice, and gotten to palais longchamp two different ways. First time we were in the old port and went down into the metro station in the old port and got on the subway. I don't remember the exact line we took and the two stops, but if you are in the old port and use your phone's gps maps, and select public transportation as your mode of transportation, it should tell you exactly which line to get on and where to get off. If you take the subway, it drops you off probably about a half mile away from palais longchamp, but its an easy, straight walk from the metro station up the street, you can't miss it. The second time, what you saw in this vlog, we were kind of wandering around trying to find a bus, and sort of happened upon the tram system instead. Using our phone gps with public transport, we again put in palais longchamp as the destination and it told us which tram to get on and where to get off. The tram will drop you off literally right at Palais Longchamp which is nice if you don't want to walk too far from the metro. However, I think if you're getting dropped off in the old port, the metro is a much more simple way, you'll just have to walk a bit more. Hopefully all of that makes sense. Again, the easiest thing to do is to use google or apple maps and have it tell you which mode of transportation to take.
