I’m so so happy i was recommended this video even if it was 5 months later! I’m getting a yorkie puppy on saturday and you have answered all my questions. thank you!!❤️
Yes, I just got a new puppy about a month ago he is a ship-poo and his name is milo. I have been watching your videos ever since I found out we were getting him.
Congratulations on graduation. Love the retriever. Reminds me of my old dog. He was a working dog as well. He will be ur best friend his entire life. Benny is a great nick name for him. I very happy for you. Can see it in ur eyes how much u love him!! 🤗🥰💙💜🖤.
I’m 13 and we had a dog for 16 years, he died last June and we’re getting a puppy in 6weeks, 🥺but this video is so helpful as I’ve never been with a pup at home as my dog was 3 when I was born😂💗
I'm so greatful that our breeder is so good and we have gone up to see her every week since she was about 3 to 4 weeks old so that we can play and bond with her as well as help with early training and I get her wednsday!
I am driving from Oklahoma to Alabama on Saturday to pick up my miniature schnauzer ❤❤ i feel beyond prepared but I can't help watching puppy videosssss.
I’m getting a jack-a-ranian(Jack Russell terroir mixed with Pomeranian) on October 9 and your videos help soooo much☺️ (Edit) 5 DAYS TILL WE GET HERRRRR
Thanks , our baby girl is coming in two weeks . We are so happy , i have watch every video and this helps me so much . House is puppy proof , and i think i bought more than she needs 🤣🤣 and she is 4 hours away too ! How soon did you bring your puppy to the vet ?
When I got her she already had her first vaccination so I just made sure to bring all the paper work and vaccine certificate. She was a little nervous but it went really well overall! I just carried her in instead of putting her on the ground on a leash. Good luck with your puppy! 😊
Victoria Nguyen yes my puppy will already have her first and she seeing the dr 4 days before so i am just not sure when to make the next appointment . How old they have to be in order to be ok to be outside at the park ?
MONICA SOTO You can talk to your vet for a more accurate schedule for your puppy but generally they get their vaccinations every 4 weeks at 8-10 weeks of age, 12-14, and 16-18. I would not recommend bringing your puppy to the park until they are fully vaccinated but you can still start the socialization process before this without putting them at risk! I will be making a video about this in the future 😊
Yes! Its true, dogs can hold in their pee one hour per every month, but usually a bit shorter. For example, if your puppy is 3 months old, they should be able to hold their bladder for about 2.5 hours to 3 hours.
I know you made this video a while ago and you might not see this but I would love to have a fetch video! I am getting a puppy soon and all these tips are very helpful.
Hi Victoria, I loved your video. I will be getting my shih’tzu fur baby in about 2 weeks when he will be 8 weeks. I{m so glad that you spoke about the ride home and how to make it a better experience. My ride to pick up Rusti is about 1 hour and 15 min. Not too long but not too short either, so I{m glad you spoke about that. I look forward to more of your videos! Thanks!!
Hey is it ok to wake them up to go potty during the day? This is such great advice sometimes I get overwhelmed worrying about whether I’ll be able to handle being a puppy mom, the videos by the professional trainers make it even worse lol but this practical advice rly helps
Hi! I’m really glad my videos are helpful for you 😊 I would say during the day it’s okay to let them sleep and wake up on their own and to just keep an eye on them and as soon as they wake up to bring them to their potty area. I find Nova naps for 2 hours max so she is able to hold it for that long with no discomfort. During the night though I do recommend waking them up every 2 hours and taking them potty. Hope this helps! 😊
Does anyone know if doggie diapers are safe? I’m getting a puppy soon and my mother told me when they get to the mature stage the have doggie periods for about a whole month and I don’t want her to do her little female thing on the floor.
I am getting a puppy soon dk what it is yet or still getting it but hopefully I do🤞🏻🤞🏻 but anyways can u do like a video like what u need to get for ur new puppy or things u should know before getting it! It would help thanks!
Hi Victoria! I’m just a girl who had a dream since she was 4 to get a dog. I’m 12 now and I’ve been doing non-stop research. I know you’ve had wonderful Nova for about 2 months now and I would love to hear about your experience. Do you think a Yorkie is awesome!? I bet you do!! Keep on making amazing content!! 😊☺️
They are the best!! Nova is a shorkie and she's got a huge personality inside her little body. She loves to play and is so loyal to me but also loves to cuddle and nap. I love her so much and I hope you get to have a dog one day too because it's amazing!
omg!! this is my first time ever a RU-vidr hearted my comment! means a lot to me! OoOo Sorkie! Thanks for the response! Btw I luv your vids and they really help me and my parents understand what it’s like, Because of your vids my parents are getting more and more interested in apuppy! So TYSM! Keep making amazing content! Enjoy Nova! 😍
It is totally up to you but I highly recommend crate training your puppy. It can really aid in their potty training and ensures their safety during the night when you can't watch them. It can also help in separation anxiety :)
Nova did not throw up so I don’t have any personal experience to speak from but she has thrown up for other reasons before for eating too fast or playing too soon after eating. The important thing to look out for is what they are throwing up and the colour. Dogs can also throw up bile and that could just be because they have acid build up but nothing in their stomach to throw up. I wouldn’t be too concerned if she threw up on the car ride home but if she throws up multiple times a day that could be a little worrying.
I will be picking up my puppy on 12/19. She is in NC and I live in MD. What are your recommendations for 5-hour travel with a new puppy? What type of carrier should I have for the car ride home? TIA
Hi! Definitely bring a blanket to wrap your puppy in because that can help them feel more safe. To be honest I just held Nova in my lap the entire ride home and that worked for me but if you want to use a carrier I think a small travel crate should work fine and you can put blankets inside to make it very cozy and safe feeling. I'd also bring water for your puppy because they may start panting from stress, heat, and thirst. And if you are getting your puppy form a breeder, keep the blanket that smells like their little mates with you because this will really help your puppy calm down. Hope this helps a little!
Yes! Nova took really well to her crate the first night because I made sure to introduce it to her as many times as I could that day. I didn't close the door during the day though but when she was down to sleep for the night I closed it and she was fine. I did have her litter mate blanket in there with her and made it super cosy so she felt safe. :)
