Love your giggling over that naughty soap dough 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👌 a couple days ago I had EXACTLY the same situation with rose fragrance, but I also added a high % of pure raw shea butter 😅🤦‍♀️ so it was a double trouble and i was deeply disappointed in soap making further experiments 😭😭😭 Thanks for sharing it with us 🙏 it's appreciated and encouraging not to give up. I can sympathize with you. I had a soap accelerate on me, but I was quick enough to get it into the mold. The next day I unmolded it and was surprised to see that it looked alright. Boy, was I wrong! As soon as I cut it it fell to pieces. So I chopped it fine, put it in a crock pot with a bit of water, turned it on low. I kept stirring it every 15 minutes until it melted. I took an old hand mixer, beat the crap out of it and put it into single molds. It came out beautifully. So there is always something you can do with soap.

When I first started making soap one of my soaps did that to me. I just grabbed the gallon of milk out of my refrigerator and started pouring some milk in and stirring really hard I ended up with a peach and white colored soap it was supposed to have only been Peach colored. The soap was really luxurious and lathered great. It wasn't the prettiest soap butt I really enjoyed using it.

Oh my, how quickly did that set up!!! You did an amazing job getting a nice looking soap from it. Normally, when soapers do a HP to save a batch, it ends up looking really 'rustic' with lots of holes, but yours looks wonderful. I honestly don't know how you do it, but even your problem soaps turn out lovely. I was using gold mica with Lady Million fragrance the other day, and boy, did that move on me, but not as bad as this did. Great save Keeley. Keep up the great work. 🤩🤩💖

My most popular soaps are those that go wrong. But that's only me that knows they went wrong. My first lavender soap was totally covered with ash, so much so I couldn't see the swirls not even the colour. Another one seized so badly I thru all the colours in my bucket gave it one big stir and then slammed it in the mold. Once you plane and bevel those bars, they will be lovely!! 💞

That's a great idea to HP the soap Keeley. I just made soap and it seized quite aggressively, I was so shocked, it was supposed to have been a swirl so now its just globs of two colours smashed down together quickly with a spatula breaking trying to get it out of the bucket. I dread unmoulding it tomorrow. At least it smells gorgeous and has lovely oils and butters, it's saving grace. I used essential oils but I think the combination made it seize; lavender, rose geranium, patchouli and a little clove. I loved how you just let go and laughed...it was lovely to hear. I am so glad that you managed to save it, stills looks good, I am sure it smells great and will feel fantastic!

Brilliant video and Thanknyou for sharing!! I had it happening twice. Once I had to leave everything overnight to wash later. Second time I managed to put it into the mould. It turned out so hard I had to hack it with the ice breaker. Other than that it was a decent soap with home dried orange zest botanicals staying nice and orange!! Hilarious.but it does happen . This happened with my second ever batch of soap. It accelerated within around 5 seconds and my whisk was stuck in the bowl of hard mix! Ohhh yes. Last week. I posted this on one of the groups I'm part of on Facebook. It was one of those days. And we are still waiting for the sink fix. Oh and let me add that I had to HP the soap because it did NOT go well. Part of it was nothing but liquid, part of it went crumbly hard really fast. "I started making a woodgrain soap. It was going great. Bit of a different recipe in that I put milk in it and less shea butter than I usually do but it isn't the first time I've used it either. I divided it into 5 colors like you do, added fragrance, kept one container of a larger amount than the others to add to like usual. The smaller containers are staying nice and fluid and it's looking beautiful. But then I noticed that the larger amount is starting to set up... FAST. No idea why considering that everything was exactly the same between ALL the containers except that the big one had the most raw soap in it. So I figured ok, if it's going to set up, I'll drip the other colors in first, then add the setting up stuff on top. Didn't work because the bottom was too fluid so I plopped the setting up stuff into the mold inside the more fluid batter and used a spatula to hopefully break it up and mix it some. Really think I'm going to have to hp this one once it's done. While a bit frustrating that isn't really what set me off. I was in the middle of cleaning up and managed to drop a glass container of fragrance on the floor so poof fragrance and glass on my floor. Then I was moving all the rest of the stuff to the sink and managed to drop raw soap covered dishes on the floor in front of my sink and I stepped in it. I had the sink water on and needed to clean the raw soap off the floor and my feet so I turned off the sink and what do I hear.... ALOT of water from underneath the sink and dripping onto the floor. So now we have a leak under the sink so we can't use it until it's repaired, and it looks like the water was coming from the side with the garbage disposal (which we never use) so... Well last time we had someone out to look at it, the repairman said that it's on its last legs. I don't put soap down there so I have no idea but I'm so sick of the problem that we're going to call someone to come out and remove the bloody thing and just put plain old pipes down there. One more thing... I don't know what's causing my soap issues. I've had nothing but problems with every batch I've made for the last month. I have no idea whats causing it. I soaped at 3 am today thinking that it might prevent some of the problems since it's a cooler temperature but nope. Now my neck hurts. Think I pulled a muscle."

Oh dear! It does sound like you're having a rough time. I always find soaping in warmer months harder due to humidity. Hopefully things improve
@moiraesfate1

@@SoyandShea I hope so. The problem is that this humidity is going to last about 8 months. So I have to figure it out. I unmolded the soap yesterday, it's going on my clearance rack lol. Vanilla Patchouli. I hate patchouli but the customers were asking for it. I'll try a different one next time.

Hi! Thanks for sharing. I made my first batch of 100% coconut oil soap today and added 5% of fragrance oil. I used a hand whisked and within a few minutes the batter got thick, grainy and transluscent. I am not sure if this was a) a false trace b) what I could have done to save it. I poured it into the mold because I had no clue what to do. I would appreciate your insights on this.
@SoyandShea
@SoyandShea 10 месяцев назад
There could be several things including a false trace or a reaction to the fragrance. Even though coconut oil can move quick. I'd use an emersion blender to make sure you are reaching trace. When things start to go wrong with soap making, the worst thing you can do is panic. Just take a moment to review it.
