Yes, fun and easy is a good thing, and this is something I can do while watching a movie. I really like the idea of affixing a sticker to the small card. Never thought of that. And you are right - there are some stickers I keep passing over because they don't fit in with the current project. This would be a good use for them. Love the tabs too! Thank you!

That's great Sandi, yes I have quite a few "rogue stickers" so it's quite nice to find a place for them. 😂

Love the sticker idea Helen. As well as producing something pretty and useful, it also gets us rummaging through our stashes. Often I forget what I've got and this is a great way of jogging the memory and perhaps providing inspiration for other projects too.😀

Thanks Alison. Yes, it certainly is a good excuse to rummage through our stash and use things up. ❤️❤️❤️

I also believe I have a “problem” with ink. 😆 And paper. Yea. Definitely paper. 😆 Seriously I find inking oddly satisfying and personally, I find it really adds to my projects. Whether it be to add some detail, distinguish one piece from another, to age or grunge something up, etc….it just gives it that extra bit of depth and character. Great idea for using left over card as tabs…just the other night I used some of my scraps to punch out scalloped circles that I then folded in half and used another punch (smaller size regular circle shape) to cut the corners to give it a different look and shape. Using my punches to create embellishments is probably my go to method for using up scrap cardstock & even the lighter weight scrapbook/decorative papers. If it’s not too thick, I also like to use them to cover plain bases of tags or journal cards I make using old file folders, cereal boxes or various food packaging…those types of things. Then I decorate over it. If its a thicker card stock then I just use that as the base and decorate it, usually gluing a piece of coffee or tea dyed paper to the back. For plain pieces (like a solid white, cream, etc) I love to ink around the edges using my blending brushes and then using various stamps to stamp allover in a collage style or even stenciling various patterns. And using my Oxides with water to smoosh onto the card. I could go on but I’m sure this comment is already long enough. 😳😝 But…basically, I use my inks in a variety of ways to achieve different results. And my paints too…acrylics and watercolors. They’re great to play around with on scrap cardstock! 😊 Hope your doing well Helen! ❤

Hehe. Thank you for leaving such a detailed response. I love all of your ideas and you are so right about punches being so useful in using up scraps!

Simple is good - it always gets my vote! The "ink problem" reminds me of a story Alan Bennett told about coming through French customs with a very large bottle (like a litre or two) of ink in his luggage. He was bringing it for a friend. Customs were very curious about it, but after looking at his passport, which lists his occupation as "writer", they were like "Ah, oui! Bien sur, l'encre!" Which, in these digital days, amused him very much.

Oh that story makes me laugh so much. I agree that it is probably almost expected for writers to be obsessed with ink. 😂🙈

@@journalingplanet I love that story - just the idea of an author travelling with an entire novel's worth of ink cracks me up 🤣Glad you enjoyed it too!

Hi Helen. Always nice to see you. I generally make tabs, too. If I have skinny strips I’ll collage them together if there is a color theme or an image theme and use them for tag/journal card backgrounds. Like we did with one of your washi tape tag videos. When the scrap is small I’ll punch circles which can be used as policy closures in future projects.

@purplejanew they are called eyelet pliers. I bought those ones on eBay. They weren't very expensive and it shows but they do the job most of the time.
