Thanks so much for watching? What'd you think of the flaming balut? Would you dare to try it? If you're headed to Vietnam check out ONETRIP Tours → www.christinas.vn/onetrip/ India Videos start Wednesday!
You do so much for Vietnam's tourism and food culture. When I tell people to visit VN, I show them your channel. This video was so great. It's nice to see you surprised or react to the unique people and cooking/serving techniques considering you've been doing this for a while.
I' m a Vietnamese. I adviced you that you should prioritize take care about public security problem when you're come here rather than food. Because Viet Nam have a lot stealers, thieves and robbers. Especially in the South of Vietnam. Robbing also working during the day.
@@BerkeleyTran you wrong,i'm vietnamese too and i fell people around me so friendly.Anyway don't make Vietnam became more ugly in eye of international friends by your small brain, thanks:))
Best Ever Drinking Game: 1 Drink - Sonny says "Amazing" or "Beautiful". 1 Drink - A local doesn't understand Sonny's attempt to communicate. 2 Drinks - Every time Sonny burns his hand. 4 Drinks - Sonny does a convincing yummy face. Finish your drink - Anyone says uh-Peace!
I think Gordon Ramsay have to come Vietnam again :))) follow you. The best value of Vietnamese food is not existed on the luxury restaurants, it's on the cheap tables around my country :))
I am a Filipino but that balut is presented very nicely! They have an amazing, unique and drooling food in Vietnam. Sauna looks good but the pizza rice paper is my favorite.
That is something Filipinos should work on, presentation and the richness in flavor. What I've noticed is that our neighboring countries put a lot of different spices and flavor to their food whereas most Filipinos are content with bland and fried food. No wonder spicy street foods are getting popular here because it adds a lot to the food, something our most traditional dishes don't have.
@@khust2993 I think you need to explore more. There are so many dishes out there that is more than "Bland and fried food".. And there are also many dishes here in ph that uses balut as the main ingredient. Just saying
@@khust2993 well u need to travel more here in ph. U can't taste all the flavors of filipino food if ur just in ur area. U need to travel and explore more to find the hidden gems of flavor.
I'm telling you, it's not only good for non-Vietnamese to enjoy Sonny's videos and seeing all of the great dishes of Vietnam but even for Vietnamese and Viet Kieu, the eye opening videos and unique dishes/locals/cultures are more than worthy of our time. If Sonny's videos aren't enough to tell all of the Viet Kieu that Little Saigon in CA and Houston's VN restaurants can't hold a candle to food in a stall in Vietnam, I don't know what will. BTW Sonny, you know that deep down in the dark dank basement somewhere, Anthony Bourdain is taking notes from your videos trying to get ready for his next trip to VN, right?
Filipina is Filipino also🤔🤔🤔 the female countetpart only... Because there is nothing to jealous about. We also innovated balut's recipes with a twist but never been known for some people ... because most of Filipinos find balut with gross appeal to eat.
I get so excited when I see the notifications of a new video!! I now risk myself trying new things to eat so much easier than before, thanks to you Sonny. I also like to eat my Japanese food while watching your vids :). Hope you're still having a great time in Vietnam!
Waiting for new vids gives me that killer anticipation. Seeing new vids with Filipino references/comparison is such a delight. The Philippines loves you, Sonny! - along with the other countries who had the pleasure of hosting you and being featured by you
Hột vịt lộn if you are going to Southern side. Trứng vịt lộn if you are going to Northern side. Roughly translate to English: Flipping Duck Eggs. (yeah, kinda) Use google translate in Vietnamese mode to know how to pronounce it.
I've only been to Vietnam twice but I've stayed for two weeks on both occassions and I can say that the food is something I terribly miss. More Vietnamese should come to the Philippines and set up authentic Vietnamese restos. Most of the very few ones we have here can't even pho right. We have a lot of Korean, Chinese and Japanese restos but there's still a lot of space for Vietnamese cuisine.
These videos always make me so dam hungry!!! I never would have thought I'd want to go to Vietnam, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn how beautiful it is there. Seems like a really cool place.
Yes, Da Lat is a beautiful city. France was built when Vietnam was a French colony, a place of rest of the kings of the Nguyen Dynasty. The weather is 10-25 degrees Celsius.
You want good food and drink => Vietnam has You want to sunbathe on the beach ==> Vietnam has You want to watch snow fall ==> Vietnam has Welcome to Vietnam.
I am anatural born Filipino who lives in vietnam now, and i visited Dalat last month. . stayed there for 5 days but I couldn't get enough of the place. . Dalat is wonderful and their food there is much more similar (the taste, the saltiness, the aroma) with ours in the Philippines compared to other parts of vietnam. . I love Dalat and will definitely go back there!!!!
Oh I love your videos. There’s so much beauty in countries all over Asia, I have not travelled in over 15 years and I’m long due to do that. That roll you made looks delicious 😍 and the fried rice paper would melt in your mouth. Awesome content
You are an amazing food reviewer. Very interesting and with humour. I got my baccalauréat at the French Lycée Yersin (Dalat) in 1965 and left Vietnam to Paris in the same year. Thank you Sonny from Paris, France. I already subscribed to your youtube presentation. It is different from The Food Ranger. Your videos deserve more viewers. Much better than Vietnamese food reviewers because they just 'eat' .
Ah! Another awesome video. I have never even had Vietnamese food, but I like food, I am a Chef so I can appreciate ALL food, and this video definitely made me hungry lol.
Sonny is all about the food, but also the people behind the food. Every area is so different. Understand the people in each area helps to enjoy the food. I am always happy to learn about each group. Traditions, special herbs used and how foods are cooked the different ways that are so different . I always thank the families and chefs. The farmers and shop owners for letting him film , so he can share with the world!
Em Siu : " does not get the recognition that we deserve" what do you mean? Jarai is 1 of 54 ethnic groups in Viet nam. what do you want ? want to be a Fulro member?
Not jealous, 🤣 our typical balut with salt and vinegar is the best. ♥️ but i wanna try their version too, i think its healthy and tasty. More food journey sonny and team.
Love how enthusiastic you are in all of your videos😀 Vietnam has become my favorite since I first set foot in 2015. I just love the food and the Vietnamese coffee both iced and hot!!! That flaming balut looks interesting. We do have sizzling balut, though, in the Philippines. 🖒🖒🖒
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Vietnamese food is the best! I’ve heard that Dalat people are super chill and nice! I clicked on the video so fast that I forgot to give it a like.
If Sony could master better expressions when eating the food rather than making everything he eats seem hard to eat or mediocre he would be mark wiens level but with wayyy better production value

Damn been watchin you since the vietnam food reviews where you said you quit your job to make this your main gig. Glad it's workin out for you! Seein it work out for you inspires me. I'm vietnamese, but you've eaten more delicious viet food than i have in my lifetime
Chicken are raised in U.S. texture is so different bcuz they don’t raise the chicken in the natural way. I’ve been eating chicken in natural way for so long and eating U.S. chicken I never get used to 😩
One of my closest friends lived in Vietnam as the only PHD in her field in the country. She always invited to come visit and every time I watch these videos, I regret not visiting. She’s in Hong Kong now...not that you care but now you know 🤪
I am loving the new formats Sonny... my daughter Yanna is also a huge fan! :) Wishing you continued success and a steadfast tummy for more extraordinary, culture-filled and delicious foods. If i may suggest... would you consider giving some shout outs to some avid fans per episode at the end ... just to give more audience participation.. I think it would make your videos more relevant and closer to your fans. It can also encourage anticipation for your next videos as viewers may want to see if their names will be mentioned :) Cheers!
Sonny, if you get a chance I recommend trying salty lemonade. I'm pretty sure you can find it in the southern parts. It's really refreshing on a hot day. Love your vid btw.
grill the pork belly on roof tiles and reuse the oil from cooking drip it down on a bowl, make me flash back about gordan ramsey kitchen nightmare, feel so desperate and shocking about a old man using roof tiles grill beef and drip a lot of oil is feelsweirdman and Dansgame
Growing up, my father and I used to raise breeding muscovy ducks as egg layers, to sell to a shop owner in a local little Vietnam. Wasn't a fan of the matured eggs, myself. It made me too sad. Because, as a child, of course I got attached to the ducks I was helping to care for. But I was super happy that the owner hooked us up with all sorts of unusual ethnic foods from her store! Also, duck eggs are so much richer and tastier than chicken eggs-- I really miss that flavor.
