I spent the first 23 years of my life in Izmir until I left Turkey in 1994. This is the first time I learned that the word boyoz comes from the Spanish word bollos. What an interesting piece of information, thank you.
Great video, even though I have been in pretty much every place that was mentioned but got to know smth new with this video. By the way, the Elevator (Asansor) built by a wealthy Jewish businessman was for his wife who was not able to reach by herself due to health issues.
