Here's what to expect after tonsillectomy. Dr. Evans discusses pain medication for adults vs. children, diet restrictions, and what to do if there is bleeding from the throat.
Had my Tonsilectomy and septoplasty at one go. On my 5th day after surgery. Luckily no bleeding as of Now. Yes lil bit of pain in my throat and fully blocked nasals. Feel myself lucky to undergo a surgery by Dr. Gautam Khaund and team.
Worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life but the meds definitely help tremendously! Stay on top of your meds! I was prescribed Percocets, it worked wonders! Stock a lot of popsicles, soups, ice, yogurt, apple sauce, apple juice, bananas, oatmeal. Those are things that I bought before surgery. Hope for a speedy recovery for everyone getting the surgery done.
Yes I agree with you brother lol I couldn’t eat bananas though they had acid in them. I had eye surgery and wisdom but out of all was my tonsils top 10 of all time
My 8 year old had her tonsils out. We are on day 4 of recovery. So far so good. Better than I thought. She is doing great! Tylenol, soft foods and popcycles
My 9 year old daughter is getting hers done tomorrow,I sure hope she has a smooth and speedy recovery. Seeing her cry or in pain is just gonna break my heart 😞
@@bepeas80 it took about 20 minutes for procedure and 20 minutes with nurse and then. They came and got me. 40 minutes total. Day 11 scabs came off...there was a bit of blood. Just keep on pain meds. I gave it to my child for about 5 days and she was fine after that. I was Soo worried but here we are 3 months later and she is doing great! She isn't sick a lot and no more snoring. Your child will do great!!!
Hi Angie i just want to know if she suffered from toothpain. My boy is still complaining for toothpain since day 8.He is on his 12th day of recovery now
Stay on top of your meds! Drink everything icy the first few days, and get an ice pack for your neck. By day two I was already shedding the scabs! Still a little rough to swallow but I’m doing much better.
Hi.. cud u guide me plz.. I’m planning surgery soon & im 43.. m scared of recovery but I’m so done with tonsil stones 🤯.. I need a permanent solution.. also do you hv any throat or digestive issues now post surgery?
Hey doc! Thanks for this video. I had my tonsils removed 3 days ago and I still snore… Am I expected to see immediate improvement or after the healing process has been completed?
it seems crazy to me that one doctor says only eat soft foods (you) and ive seen hundreads of others saying eating rough and normal food is a much better approach
How long after the surgery I can drink alcohol? This is a serious question. Cause after my set date of the surgery in 2 weeks I’ll travel for a long trip full of alcohol and parties. Will I get healed fully in 2 weeks? Or is it just better do it after the trip?
Hi I got operated on the 22nd of September, after a long recovery. My taste hasn't come back properly and every time I eat food doesn't taste very nice
My tonsils are so large that they're kissing, but it's never caused me any trouble or discomfort until recently. They've been letting me consider a tonsillectomy and even though I'm scared, I'm also getting REALLY tired of my throat hurting so much that I can't even breathe without pain, and losing sleep over the amount of discomfort.
@@veronicanyabuto4915 I got rid of them a while ago. It still kind of hurts to swallow and eat, but I realized that I've never been able to take a genuine deep breath since I was 5, and it felt pretty crazy. The first days were really rough, but I regret nothing
why do i not feel comfortable with ice or cold drinks anymore, day 6 ? and im also having a need to cough, is it because scabs are falling off? cuz im not bleeding even a little bit... or is it normal to not bleed? i thought everyone had at least a little bit of blood in their spit? 🤨😅 confused
@Mr. Perfect ow I'm so sorry for you! I feel you dude. Well in my case I had huge pain and couldn't eat for more than 6 days .... but then I had enough... I started antibiotics without doctor's prescription... I just had some pills amoxicillin (gladly) and with the second pill (second day) I literally was able to eat pizza............ So I came to the conclusion that if I had antibiotics earlier I wouldn't suffer that much. If you have antibiotics at home.... take them!!!!!!! To answer your question... in 7 days as I told you I could eat , 10 days I was almost fine , 14 days I was like before. No feeling of pain or anything
@@mrperfect069 I’m ngl I was crying a lot lol. But like I can’t really remember. Maybe a month? I can’t remember at all. But those were some wicked times fr
