I’m so so nervous about my first mod visit. We only started a couple months ago so I made us work through the holidays aha because our moderator said I would need to show 3 months worth of work😂😭 I was like howwww. We’ve been all over the place aha trying to find what works for us… I’m not super organised yet! I’m still working on an education program because we keep going ohh this doesn’t work for us oops let’s rethink it all! I am loving your videos. I feel like I finally know what to do! I hope my moderator can see that I am trying and that once we find our feet I’ll be the best teacher for my kids. That’s all I can hope for really! I am finally feeling confident enough to write up our eduction plan properly! Also I’m a fellow West Australian yay!
My wife and I have been having actual panic attacks at the ambiguous and non-specific nature of our moderator visit. We only pulled our kids out of school during the COVID outbreak here in WA (March) so she's asked for "whatever we've got" which is crazy given how much we do online or in real-world (like museum visits, nature hikes, etc). Your video was a HUGE relief though. Well put together, informative and you sound super nice. Thanks heaps for making a video like this, it actually made me feel a lot better about our upcoming visit.
perfect video so helpful I remember last year hyperventilating when I was starting out I couldn't find a video like this.. sorry if I missed it does your moderator ask to see everything done through the year or just your dated work samples that meet the outcomes
They have only ever asked to see some work samples so i just gather a few to show them. I have the rest of the work stored away and if they ask to see it I can show them but they have never asked me. My moderator visit this year will be done via zoom call so I'm not sure if they will even ask for work samples

my comment got deleted I was just wondering how much does the moderator need to whiz through. Do you have to show them every single worksheet completed through the year or just the sample/portfolio work
You will not have to show them every single thing you have done, just a few samples should be enough . I keep everything until my moderator has come to visit us and then after that I recycle all of the paperwork we do not need
ive been doing homeschooling in WA for 7yrs and every year i have a total anxiety break down not knowing how or what to prepare... it would be so much easier if i had a copy of this template... meeting tomorrow and i have nothing ready
