Goddamn, Asmon looks 10 years younger with his hair cut, like he's about to make a WoW guide.

Vaati has always been great, but he's really stepped up his production values since the Elden Ring release. He's churning out videos much slower, but they are all so well-made now. Every video that he puts out is must-watch content for me.

If it is Miquella then I think the DLC 'entrance' is by defeating Mohg and then interacting with the egg.

If Torrent is a spirit like the summons Asmon refused to use during his playthrough. Does that mean every boss he fought using Torrent he was technically cheating by his standarts?

Another thing about godwyn’s death root corrupting the erdtree is that Godwyn’s body and the deathroot itself is in the roots of the erdtree, (deep root depths) so it’s definitely very possible

I think my favorite thing about this, is in a way, Miquella is the real main character of this story. He’s not just Malenias brother he has a presence damn near everywhere in this game. And only ever for good reasons. I’m sure Ranni also has good intentions with her order, but Miquella seems like the only truly pure character. Cant wait to learn more about him. Not even Joking he’s basically the Jesus of Elden ring.

Miquella obviously. Another use for his needle. Whatever relationship he has with Godwyn, Ranni and Melina. Great Runes from him and Ranni, however we can get them especially if the latter is on the moon itself apparently. More Fenzy and Death weaponry and spells. Fighting an outer God via a dream ala Bloodborne.

I'm leaning towards the spirit realm being the main setting of the expansion. It ties into Miquella's abilities, the Helphen tree guiding spirits of the dead and Godwyn the Golden whose soul is one of said spirits.

Commander Naill/o Neil both also summon using spirit bells and they serve miquella and meliania. That is also a hint to who was torrents original owner

If the Erdtree has roots all over the Lands Between, and Godwyn corrupted those roots, spreading his ghastly face across them, it would make sense that Miquellas haligtree was affected a lot worse. Maybe we're gonna get the death-ified version of what we see

Personally I love the theory that miquella is actually nowhere near as benevolent as all the descriptions suggest because he had this uncanny ability to make people adore him. Like magically charm even gods into believing he could do no wrong

It would be sick if we can choose who we would want to assist between Godwyn or Miquella and have separate covenants resulting in different quest lines, bosses, etc…

I think it's vaati or smoughtown that does a video about cut content and miquella being st Trina but part of the cut content was a side quest or something similar where you would enter miquellas dream thru another cut npc so that's what I'm leaning towards for the setting of the dlc

I took one look at the trailer thumbnail and thought Miquela. For a character so integral and yet so little known, it makes complete sense that the DLC will heavily feature Miquela and his relationship with Torrent and the player.

The deathroot thing makes a lot of sense especially if the roots crawled up through deep root depths. It's ridiculously close to being directly under the erdtree on the map. Noticed it yesterday

My guess is that the dark tree is either an otherworld or death reflection of the Erdtree. Basically the death growth has almost consumed the Erdtree like a choking vine.

Holy fuckin shit the depth in which the video went with the lore blew my fuckin mind away. Sometimes I gotta play games slower and take time to appreciate all the little stuff I miss or don't observe or don't care to take time to look for just insanely beautiful how deserving this game is for game of the year. one other thing that confirm that we will go in a sort of afterlife/dream world is that the landscape seems a lot similar to the Champs Elysees and i think we initially will help Miquella but at the end when we will go out from the dream world togheter he will found himself in a corrupted body (for Mogh), go crazy and fight us

Elden ring lore is so insanely sophisticated. I can't believe they crafted a world with lore so complex without any hand holding as to what the lore actually is.

This is just speculation and we don't have much information about it, but I think he has put the hair in ponytail. There aren't statues from Asmon from behind in his current state, but in this cut scene, if you looks closely, it seems that he is touching ponytail of his hair at 22:53. We will be get more information how the story of Asmon's hair goes.

Pretty sure this means Miquella is going to be summon spammer and probably will have like 3 phases. Also I would not be surprised if u have to fight the 3 wolves Sif style 3v1 as a preceding fight to Miquella or as one of his phases. Melena I think could maybe get a Freya type of fight in dlc aswell from what people mined before. I just really hope the DLC lives up to the difficulty and creativity increase that all the other souls DLC's had.

Syrobe has a good take on the DLC. He also did it first. Not to take anything away from Vaati mind you, he’s an absolute legend. It’s understandable that people tend to default to vaati, it’s just there are other really good Soulsbourne creators out here too.

I feel like an interesting thing that they could do is make a way to advance the basic summons into the advanced tier.

You could say volcano manor and the beast clergyman are both giving covenent rewards and volcano manor is almost pvp based just ai invasions instead but I get there should be rewards for the real pvp too

What if it's about the Haligtree? What if "Shadow of the Erdtree" is the Haligtree when Miquella first made it. Cuz if you look, the tree branches out in weird ways that the Erdtree doesn't. I mean, the Haligtree even needed Braces to keep itself upright.

Vaati is definitely a top tier lore content creator. A few others I really like are Smoughtown for his longer lore videos and the up and coming Miss Chalice, her videos are of a similar tone to Vaati's, really chilled out voice would love to see a collaboration. 👍

imo the problem with it being the deathroot and this is after is 1. there are no minor erdtrees around. and 2. the erdtree doesnt have any sap anymore. there are hints to the fact that only the ones who can see grace can see the erdtree like we can and maybe this is what it really looks like but its disguising itself, this could be back in the day at the start of the age of abundance, hence all the wheat n shit. the fact that the roots are gone from the elden ring might be because of the event we are now seeing.

Quite a bit late, but I want to officially put it down here that I’m fairly confident in those three wolves being the Shadows for Miquella. Similar to how Ranni has Blaidd, the Empyrean Miquella could have had a Shadow Servant and I like to think that his was split into three weaker messenger servants since he already had a capable guardian in his sister.

Godwyn basically "glitched" the Erd Tree because now that his soul (like his profile data) is dead and gone, the Erd Tree could not successfully resurrect him and kept on creating bad copies of him throughout the whole Lands Between

What I'm expecting? I'd like to see added spells to existing magic and incantation schools. I'd also like to see maybe two to four new magic/incantation schools and balance changes to some of the old spells. Balance to PvP would also be icing on the cake. Howl of Shabriri could use a huge range increase as well as ALL of the mist spells, and some of the AOEs In the game like Zamor ice storm. More ice lightning spells would be cool, pun intended. Lightning should have a chance to stun as well. Fire should have a small burn damage effect that ticks after initial damage. Thops barrier, and parry skills need an increased window to parry for PvP. Lower the damage on a crit from parry in PvP. Lower damage in PvP in general except on the hardest, slowest hitting weapons in the game. A new area, couple weapons and bosses. Some decent ashes of war as well. Fire needs better stuff for sure. Make all of the stealth talismans better and same with the Sellian spell "unseen form". Unseen form should be taken out of stealth only when being hit by spells or attacks, or after casting a spell, or attacking. Law of regression should also be a direct counter to this, obviously. The added feature to player customization to keep and change any alterations you've earned. (Dragon eyes, bloody eyes, frenzied flame eyes and burns.) Maybe add some new ones? I'd also like to keep them after a playthrough. A couple of new hairstyles. Make Death blight actually usable. Even in PVE. Please fix Eclipse shotel; It's such a cool weapon that needs to be blight-worthy. A fifth talisman slot. New talismans as well. Talisman changes. The affinity resistance talismans for example should actually be a direct counter to dragon breath affinities because if you didn't know, that's how you balance that. Couple new quests. With rewards. Different horse skins. Imagine a night cavalry mount, or Radahn's horse, or maybe just a regular horse. Maybe even some unexpected mount from the lands between. The royal remains armor set, and Icon shield should give back health based on health percentage. The health given back at this time is vastly too low. It's not even noticable. Make Bows, and torches better in general. Make Sleep, Scarlett rot, and poison better in PvP. Scorpion's stinger dagger needs to be way better on its ash of war. Make ALL the legendary armaments actually feel legendary. Basically, I just want them to fix their base game, and add new stuff. It's really frustrating seeing all these awesome spells, and weapons in the game and only like 30% of them ever see use. Dual spears, magic, poise, and blood builds should not be the only viable options in PvP. Update the meta so everything is good in its own right.

My biggest conundrum is if I should start the DLC with my decked out full level character parked at the end of the game. Start a New Game Plus with him or continue the game on my level 50 character and do the DLC on him.

Coming back now, I think the screenshot might be showing a future in the lands between after the events of the frenzied flames ending. We could be seeing a recently awakened Miquela, who either crafted a new whistle for Torrent or found the discarded one at the base of the Erdtree. The ash from the burning tree could have covered the landscape, hiding away the previous landscape and supplying fertile grounds for new plants to grow.

I wish fighting cowboy got more recognition. His guides and walk through of all the souls games have helped literally millions of people get through them but unfortunately I never his name being mentioned.

I watched Ratatoskr video and I agree that FromSoftware would probably focus on finishing Armored Core 6, and then developing the DLC for Elden Ring. Because they would not probably like that the public's attention (and money) to be divided between both games in a close period of time.

I think the dlc will happen in a sort of "land of golden reeds", basically agyptien afterlife, cause St Trina and Undead Godwyn have lots to do with ghosts and the dead. Miquella is on the verge of death, as his flower items tell.

I have 3 guesses all dealing with Miquella, I feel like the DLC will either be directly in the past before the Erd tree with Miquella, or it wont be directly in the past more like Bloodborne and the old hunters where its like a dream sequence OF the past but we directly interact with Miquella. Last theory is it is just in the future after our rise as lord destroyed the land and on our journey we freed Miquella via Mohg and the DLC centers around him coming back

Godwyn corrupting the Erdtree is such poetic and beautiful irony. The old great tree, sapping one of the golden children's decaying body's life force, to re-grow and overtake the Erdtree.

This tree to me seems exactly like Miquella's tree, except that his is broken, and this one seems to be breaking. Considering all that it seems to me it will be about his tree dying

I wouldn't keep your hopes up for this year I would imagine they would want armored core to come out first, so I'm guessing December or sometime next year

Personally I believe that dlc is gonna some sort of prequel probably leading up to godwins death and the shattering starting off our story in elden ring?? Makes more sense to me since miquella is featured in it and the possibility of Godwin being in it too

My theory right now is that miquella somehow will use the haligtree to wrap it around the erdtree and suck all the life from it (which it has due to souls of dead people going to the erdtree before being reborn) to revive godwyn

I truthfully hope they add the penetrator armor set from demon souls in the dlc or the iron dragonslayer armor from dark souls 3. I'm truly disappointed that there's not many heavy armor sets for tank builds
