I love that Fadel brought up a point I haven’t seen many mention, that a tie-in animation will be happening. If we can get something on par with the Knuckles Frontiers Prologue for Shadow….CANNOT WAIT!
I think length wise, the Shadow campaign will be around the same length as what Bowser's Fury was. Content wise, I'm hoping for this to be a tease of what Sega will be doing with Shadow in the next mainline game as it's been a really long time since we've seen Shadow in a mainline game and honestly it's time for him to be in the spotlight again.
One thing that Sega will never do but I really hope and pray that they do is I really wish that they include the unused Shadow song "Who I Am" by Magna-Fi somewhere in the game in some way because that song is so fucking good
If this ends up with a teaser for Shadow's future, maybe him being in space and other planets does kind of make sense. Black Doom and the Black Arms must have left some kind of legacy or something behind. Worlds still under their domain or something could be pretty sick for Shadow the Hedgehog 2.
I think that Sonic X Shadow Generations will be the same way at it was when it was originally released back in 2011, but with added in content such as a playable Shadow The Hedgehog. I would want to see levels that was from the 3DS version to be added in this remastered version plus also maybe you could add unlockable skins and cosmetics and as a bonus, maybe a playable Tails or Knuckles whether if it’s classic or modern.
What I mainly hope for is the tie in animation and maybe a time eater fix. The animations for the past games have been getting better and better, this will probably will be tying into how shadow ended up in shadow generations. With time eater, I just hope better movement with the 2 super sonics and maybe a new song like Sonic Youth from Crush 40 that works way to well not to use. Still pretty hype for the remaster maybe we’ll see some more stuff soon
Oh man. It would be sick if we got one for each. One for Sonic Generations and one for Shadow Generations. We probably mainly get just the latter, which would still be dope.

if they add new levels, I doubt they would add from anything past colors. As cool as it would be to have these bosses and levels from more current games, I just don't see it happening. They gave classic sonic a shadow hoodie instead of just putting shadow in, they clearly have the lore in mind when making these updates.
Remember how generations has that theater rom (forgot what it was called), I really hope the music, cutscenes, concept art, etc is all there for Shadows part of generations, I think that would be cool. The animation we’ll probably get should definitely be in the theater room too, that way there less of a chance of people missing out on it.
Honestly tbh I wouldn’t say I’m hyped but I’m definitely intrigued and interested in what the remaster Will entail Some of my hopes would be: (Some are unrealistic but let me be on copium!!!) Gens Remaster ~ - Fixing the Time Eater (Just make it like the 3DS Version of Time Eater cause that one is better tbhhh) - Like U said customization would be so cool and OG Gens already has a really cool mod that does this so it would be so cool - Maybe harder versions of levels and Make the ranking system harder - New levels like Studiopolis, Metropolis (Forces), Sea Bottom Segue - Give Classic Sonic some more new abilities (Drop Dash, Peelout) - Give Modern Sonic some new abilities (Double Jump, Spindash etc) - Gens 3DS as a bonus side game - Unleashed Boost levels as a bonus Shadow Generations: - Be longer than 1 hour please bro. - Super Shadow Fight would be dope - Mephiles Reference somewhere - Maria flashback (She dying twice this year let’s g-) And that’s all i can think about Oh yeah and give Classic Sonic Mania/Superstars Physics ok bye
My crackpot theory of how the final boss for Shadows story would be that after Time eater is defeated, Black Doom is going to take over and replace the Eggmans (Eggmen?) and from there Shadow would take over for Sonic. Black Doom would be incentivized to take time eaters power to return to his prime.
All I’m hoping for is just for the Shadow campaign to have a sizable amount of content and a good story. The base game seems to be untouched so thats good and all I’ll ever need I just hope the shadow part is worth while.
I honestly don’t think this will live up to my expectations, but I’m ok with that bc my expectations are mixed with nostalgia and that time is gone so it won’t be the same and that is ok
I originally wasn’t sure if I was gonna get it cuz Sonic generations was already upscaled to 4K 60fps on Xbox series x/s but then they showed shadows story and I’m like….yea I’ll get it on ps5 too 🤩
Don't mistake this is just sonic generations of what we played before with some last announced DLC. Change the mindsets here because what we're getting this Autumn... is a new experience on 3 sides. Classic and Modern Sonic will gain added new missions and side quests to match up with Shadow
I personally think the game might come out in either September or October, that way there’s enough time for people to play it and be ready for the movie
I'm kinda hoping that this timey wimey nonsense could lead to Maria coming back in some way cause I really wanna see Maria alive again for Shadow's sake
Honestly, I’m not expecting this but I feel this remaster could be Sonic Team’s second chance on giving generations the dlc it deserves with multiple level packs. Something like a dlc road map like Frontiers did would be pretty cool I feel. Could have a dlc pack for stages on the story book games, or a pack on the advance games etc. Really while I doubt it, I still have some hope we could as while mods certainly do that kinda thing with level mods, I think it’d be amazing to see that stuff in an official capacity.
I just hope that shadow's controls will be like the open zone levels (This is hinted at in the bio lizard boss fight) because some people were puzzled that the move set didn't transfer to the cyberspace levels. at the very least I hope we get movement customization.
There are 3 things I want from this game: 1- Level Design as good as OG Generations. As much as I enjoy playing the final Horizon levels, they are not as fun as Generations. It does seem that we're gonna have multiple pathways, so there is hope with that. 2- Well written Shadow. I am begging SEGA, let Ian Flynn go all out in this one, I read some of archie comics where Shadow is involved. He can do peak Shadow when he is not limited by mandates. He can also fix some of the plot holes the Shadow the hedgehog game left. Also, let Kirk Thornton do a good performance for once. 3- This is a personal one. Bring back Mephiles. Out of all of the villains, he had the best dynamic with Shadow, It gives a lot of Batman and Joker vibes. Not to mention, Sonic Team is aware of how many people like Mephiles (not just because of the whole Sonicman vs Mephiles). Someone asked Kishimoto back at the Frontiers updates about Mephiles, and he said he could return.
Ngl, seems pretty out there, but it'd be sooo dope if they added extra Rival battles. Classic gets the Hooligans, Heavy King, Classic Knux, Modern could get Blaze and Neo Metal Sonic, like it'd be so dope. But hell yea for cosmetics, we seriously NEED the Riders fit atp, it's crazy how huge a miss that was for Frontiers.
Ngl I'm hoping Stardust Speedway from CD gets added as a level in the Generations portion of the game because I always found it werid how we never went through that Zone as a playable stage even though CD is a mainline game
Yeah Drop Dash is a lock. I would love more levels in base game though you do have a point that they could have teased it in the trailer...unless the "bonus material" they refer to is a bigger deal👀👀 id really love a second rep from each game and maybe smth from Mania and Frontiers? Shadow 05 and more SA2 will be covered in Shadow Generations tho so... maybe it isnt too crazy to hope for another 06 thing (Mephiles would be so sick imo. If we can have Black Doom and Biolizard? Im just saying.) Ooh and this ones hella spicey: DLC. And no i dont mean Casino Night pinball style. It probably wont happen but damn it id just love further levels in Sonic Generations. Unlikely as hell but they could do what they skipped over in the original.
It’s gonna be so hard to go back to vanilla Gens without the mod loader. Like…Showin’s Classic Sonic Improvement mod almost devalues the original…it’s THAT good. Hopefully Shadow makes up for it
@@Glitchyy07 Exactly that, super peel-out included! It also slightly alters the level design to accommodate for the physics tweaks and includes the shield power-up monitors in regular levels. Plus visual changes. All toggleable. It’s great!
it was so smart giving shadow his own campaign for generations. think about it, Shadow wasn’t at Sonic’s party at the start of the game, yet he still ended up there alongside silver and metal sonic. i hope those two make appearances in the campaign as well
I have this feeling it's going to be about the length of one of the Sonic eras in Generations. So basically three stages, a character fight, and a big boss fight, though maybe he'll get a Super fight too. Based on what I'm seeing, my guess is Westopolis, Final Chase, and maybe the comet from Shadow's game? And then the Sonic vs. Shadow Generations fight from Shadow's perspective, the Biolizard, and a Super Shadow fight against Devil Doom or a new Black Doom form that sort of acts like a Frontiers-style titan fight. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Mephiles and/or Infinite in there as well, I'm just not expecting it.
What i expect is basically a short run through of shadow's history throughout the series, stuff from sa2, shadow and 06 specifically as those were the games where shadow was the most important. It'll basically be used as the general audiences/newcomer's introduction to shadow and his character, and it'll also fix the writing and characterisation problems he had during the 2010s era, and be used as a way to tie into movie hype. Now what I want to see is the campaign last somewhere between 2-3 hours, and have shadow be playable in the base game as well. Pipe dream wishes are having post gens levels like studiopolis or press garden, white metropolis, ouranous island and cyber station, and maybe some boss fights like infinite, the hard boil heavys, fang and update 3 supreme. No deadly six tho, they suck also have the shadow outfit from superstars
I think my biggest concern so far is the price tag. I've heard this game could go for $60, and I wonder how general audiences would perceive a $60 remaster of a 3-4 hour game, especially when that game has been available for about $20 for a long time now on Steam, and the only reason to justify the extra $40 is for a probably 2-3 hour new campaign. I worry this game will be like Superstars, where nobody picks up the game around launch due to the incredibly high price.
I really hope we get a Frontiers like gameplay in the Shadow campaign. That would be awesome! I’m only confused about how the final fight will go, since the Sonics are looking for the Chaos Emeralds themselves. I’m assuming the campaign will be before the Time Eater interrupts Sonic’s party, because Shadow and Silver weren’t there yet.

Honestly, I'm expecting a good time: I never played in the console version of Sonic generations growing up, so this will definitely be a first and positive experience for me🤩 The shadow story expansion is just icing on the cake: I can't believe that it's been 6 years since the last time our edgy boy was playable🤯
All the things that you mentioned are good ideas of what to expect and hope for from this upcoming remaster. One of my biggest hopes for it is because of how good quality the graphics of it are shown as for the Shadow stuff in that trailer, I hope that a port of that game for Nintendo's next console (Switch 2, or whatever else it might be called) would be made. It has been mentioned that that console will be as powerful as the PS4, and that it will likely get released early next year. The quality of the graphics in that trailer may get lowered for the copies of it that will be for the Switch 1 and I want a full quality copy of that game, but I don't have any of the more powerful consoles that are currently available because I can't afford any of those ones!
I’m excited for this game nonetheless because it will be my first time ever having the chance to play Generations! One thing that I kind of hope for and I know the chances are very low for this to happen, but what if just like one moment where Classic Sonic is separated from Modern Sonic after the mirror scene, what if Modern Sonic has a moment in the game where he’s separated from Classic Sonic and ends up crossing paths with Shadow. Or pretty much the story of the base game crosses over briefly with the new story content.
I think if they do decide to add in more levels to base generations, i could see them being unlocked after you beat the final boss. Now i dont think this would happen at all but it would be cool if Sega somehow found a way to bring some of the modded content into this rerelease whether officially or taking inspiration from them. Lastly with that partner showxase tomorrow its pretty safe to say that we'll be seeing something from Sega there whether its this game or more footage from the ones they announced at the game awards
I wonder if Classic Amy and Knuckles are going to show up in this. It was very odd to have them missing on OG Generations and with Origins and Superstars having them front and center, it would be nice to have Classic Sonic save them in the main game.
I have a feeling that Shadows story is going to be like Trips Story, with the exception of level design and locations. In essense it'd be the same gameplay as Gens/Frontiers, but itd be harder than Gens itself
It might definitely be similair to the original with some visual changes regarding the base game tho I hope they make the Time Eater fight less tedious. As for the Shadow specific stages, just like with Sonic we can expect to see Shadow specific stages throughout his gaming history so games like SA2, Shadow The Hedgehog, maybe Shadow 06? He might get different combat, platform and support abilities as well that you can buy and equip from the shop and definitely new Shadow centered remixes. But that's regarding Shadow. Regarding Sonic they could always add a few more stages and missions for both Modern and Classic Sonic including boss fights. But as for right now I am curious on what they will do with Shadow based on what is revealed so far. It's kinda crazy that Black Doom is actually acknowledged knowing the infamous reputation of Shadow The Hedgehog and how the game never got a sequel.

Also I imagine we might get an idw comic prequel like we got for frontiers and Sonic Movie 2! Lastly yeah the only thing I'm worried about is the length I hope it's at bare minimum 2 hours And I do hope we get so e kind of reward like playing Shadow in base game!
I know people are worried about “Forces Level Design”, but look at the newer Cyberspace Stages added in Update 3. They’re all way better than the original Cyberspace stages, and they all have original layouts too, instead of copying older stages - even if the themes are the same (green hill, chemical plant etc…) If Shadow’s stages are like the new Cyberspace stages then I’ll be pretty happy. HOWEVER. I want the levels to be longer, like in Unleashed or OG Gen’s. 2-3 minute stages PLEASE. Also I hope Mephiles makes a comeback in some way. It would be really cool to see him again. Oh and yeah of course, please redo the Time Eater fight to actually be fun lmao
The only thing I’d want them to tweak is to make Super Sonic actually worth using. Draining double rings per second and BLEEDING them when boosting was a bit much. If Classic Sonic has Superstars physics, that’d be cool too.
4:10 I very much doubt any sonic frontiers levels will be in sonic x shadow gens for particularly one reason: time line stuff. Sonic gens happens way before frontiers so adding something like cyberspace or any of the islands as levels would just make people utterly mad. Now that doesn't mean Frontiers level layouts won't appear, what I mean is that maybe we'll get like a Level lay out select menu where we can choose what the layout of green hill, chemical plant, or sky sanctuary with the option of frontiers layout or gens layout. Also Infinite won't be in here because of timeline stuff as well. But I have a suspicion Mephiles will appear somewhere
I’m personally hoping we get Casino Night, Mushroom Hill, and Emerald Coast to represent most of the 3DS content. Those stages would look gorgeous, for real think of the mushrooms bro 🍄
Hoo haa hoo! Man if we ate with the Knux prologue I can't imagine what we gonna get for Shads... Hopefully Powerhouse is behind this one too! From Gens I don't expect too much crazy things... now the Shadow campaign I hope they go HAM and while I don't expect a lot of hours, at the very least some considerable content... 5 Original Shadow Levels would be dope but hopefully we get more stuff! (Besides the 5 levels scenario I wouldn't be against if they reuse some gens level for "more" stages it like Seaside Hill and Crisis City since Shadow was on those too)

Am I expecting too much if I think Tails, Amy and Knuckles should be playable after beating the game? Makes sense to me given that they’re playable in the last modern and classic games 😁. If they take a dlc route with them, I’d hope more characters and stages are included tho
Im wondering if there will be a graphical downgrade because of the differences between Hedgehog Engine 1 and 2. Considering Hedgehog Engine 1 pushes so many graphical limits while 2 is much more toned down. Anyway, what I would greatly enjoy is new zones for Sonic’s campaign since base Generations is incredibly short and I don’t expect Shadow’s to be much longer in length. Adding the zones and bosses from 3DS would be nice in my opinion.
Really hope that if there are new remixes, you can still select the old ones and the original songs, just like how you can choose music in the original Sonic Generations

Question why adding characters and places from sonic future which haven't even happen chronologically 😅 lost world forces and frontiers take place after generation why future level when whole point of generation is sonic going through his past not his future. If they're going to add new level why not level from 3ds casino night mushroom hill emerald coast water palace and tropical resort and maybe add burst wisp

i really hope this game will finally put an end to shadow's over the top "edgy" stereotype that pretty much all games after shadow 2005 have mistakenly portrayed him as. return him to his character in 06 which was the last "good" character he had in my opinion.
