Overlord is one of my favorite anime; the movie is over 2 hours long, is coming to IMAX, and it releases on EXACTLY my birthday?! It feels like the stars have aligned for all this to happen.
i wish anime started doing what shows are doing here in the states, 40-60 min average episodes. It makes it so they dont have to cut out like 80% of shit to cobble together 1 episode
@@cosmicgrim7963 Just so you're aware, anime episodes are primarily made for TV. Most shows these days are primarily made for streaming, so they can be whatever length they want. The issue with anime length is that it would cost more money to buy more space to air episodes on TV. The issue with cutting has nothing to do with anime episode length. They can just spread that out over several episodes.
@bryangarcia5207 longer run time makes up for the fewer episodes when it's doubled. The reason studios take so long to put out new seasons is because they like to make shit 1 offs then still take 3 years to make the 2nd season from the first thing
You do realize 90 minutes is basically a little bit over three episodes. So you're saying you know they're covering that much in one episode that we usually take 3 to 4 episodes where it equals out actually.
The fact that re zero ep was 90 minutes might indicate that they planning to adapt both arc 5 and 6 of the LN , arc 5 have a lot of action but isn't super long , 2 cour S3 might be enough
The current state of the Re Zero and One Punch Man anime are very similar. 1. Both are headed into seaaon 3. 2. Both are coming off of a seaaon 2 with very funky animation. 3. Both will contain major worldbuilding. 4. Both with be PEAK shonin (if done currectly.
re zero original source is a light novel though. It isnt shounen or seinen. But yeah arc 6 of re zero is literally peak fiction so if they animate that correctly, its game over.

Ah man, I was getti g caught up on his content, and when he said "the first episode covers a volume", my eyes went wide as I had Rising of the Shield Hero season 2 flashbacks. The reminder of the 90-minute episode calmed me down though XD
I am so glad the anime figure didn't come out to be another anime gril boob show off. I wouldn't mind a Shalchair or Couchcytas figure but I was mainly on board for a standalone Ainz design. I think the end result will be amazing based off the description that you've given along with the fact you have been such a loyal overlord fan for so long. I am very excited to see it.
I went and saw both and season 3 for rezero was very great loved meeting the people who make it and the va, and the 8min of overlord movie I was on the eage of my seat saying don't end yet. cant wait to watch the full movie

Just a question on the Mugen Project store; I already purchased 2 sets of the Goddess Tees, but I was wondering if those will ever come back around, or if there are more plans on later Mushoku Tensei merch? I received the first set and I love the fabric so much that I might even keep a pack unopened for when my first set eventually fades. Would love to hear back on this, and looking forward to more anime merch!
im glad the first episode was 90 minutes. Vol 16 is very uneventful so its nice to have it in one viewing experience so we can get to the insane fights later. it also ended on a cliffhanger which was awesome

Hopefully after the Sacred Kingdom movie is out that we'll get the Half Elf Godkin arc animated. That could definitely get a movie since a lot of its dialogue could easily be cut out without much complaint
GOD BLESS STUDIO FOX and their commitment to bring out the best of ReZero. Happy that Overlord holy kingdom arc the most entertaining arc will be done faithfully unlike season 4.
The one webtoon I want to see an anime made of is Skeleton Soldier Couldn't Protect the Dungeon. It's the best manhwa there is. To get something on the level of animation as Solo Leveling would be incredible.

omniscient reader's viewpoint is lowkey amazing. the last 10-20 chapters that came our dropped some amazing character backstory and world concepts. i hope the first season is welcomed well so the anime can get to that point.
Arifureta? Oh, yeah, the bunny arc. That was a fun read. Only thing that scares me is where it will end. So far it seems only volumes 7 and 8 will be covered, so I hope for quality similar to second season that covered only two volumes.
Maybe the people behind that time I got reincarnated as a slime should do what they did with the first episodes of re:zero season 3 because of all the meetings and world building in some parts.
the problem with slime s3 is the direction they took with the meetings, it's so plain and boring, and yeah they should just make an 90 minutes episode just to get all worldbuilding and exposition first, and animating the rest episode, because 24 minutes episode a week isn't ideal, people would get bored fast and easily if they're waiting and watching it weekly for the characters to just be sitting and talking for 7 episodes straight, (unless you waiting for the season to be over and then watching it in a one sitting, it might be different). and re:zero directors knew that very well, first episode could be 24 minutes episode a week just like the usual but then the people would get bored for it, that's why he insisted and pushed it for 90 minutes for the first episode to get all the exposition, lore, worldbuilding, and setting characters up that needed for the arc to start, and then animating the rest of the arc. and i'm glad he did and from the interview, seems like the new directors understand what is re:zero.
@@Faba145 The meetings in the LNs are the same way most the time so it cannot be helped. And unlike other titles this series has nation building and governing elements to it so it does not have as much action as some other series.
Imo more anime should do longer first episode being able to set up the plot or storybeat with have to worry about speeding up or cutting more important plot points is great it definitely helped oshi no ko
Literally a week ago I've read the whole Fire Force manga, the ending felt a bit... a bit bs, but I'm still super excited, so much made more sense from things that were annoying to me in the beginning and oh boy, the fights will look spectacular
