FEMA has repeatedly reached out to IRS employees to work for them temporarily to process claims for FEMA assistance, because IRS employees are experts at claim processing, snd they are already vetted and working for the government.

It isn’t about the debate itself; it is however about how the debate is “ covered/reported”. Whoever is still “ undecided “ is really just looking for an excuse, a ‘justifiable’ reason to vote for Trump. They want to have the appearance of having a rationale instead of the racism, bigotry and misogyny that is the reality.

Respectfully, I disagree. Trump and Vance, with the help of most media, have been drenching voters with a firehose of lies. Any opportunity to debunk those lies will hopefully sway some voters who just go along with a partner, to vote blue in a brave act of defiance in the privacy of the voting booth. Our love of our daughters and granddaughters can inspire bravery. The more Vance explains to women how they need to feel, the more protective people get.

Please remember that North Carolina is not just home to a mostly red congressional delegation. North Carolina is a Democratic majority state living under minority rule through the process of partisan gerrymandering. My heart aches for my fellow North Carolinians regardless of affiliation. Let's not kid ourselves, Vance is no dummy. He wasn't a legacy admission at Yale Law School, and his book, Hillbilly Elegy, was a NY Times bestseller and not ghostwritten. I don't expect the same result as Harris v. Trump and I'll settle for a draw. But Jen is right. It won't matter, anyway.

As I watched this, Tues a.m......still ahead of the VP debate..... and I'm going with the coach's experience with communicating with (despite?) teenage boys. Some of them young men, some of them with grit from the sandbox still in their diapers. He will make strides keeping JDVance on the bench.

Early voting hasn't started in Florida yet, but they did send out mail ballots and I filled mine out and hand delivered it to the elections office, and it now shows up as "Received" on my status web page. Voted for the abortion rights amendment and every democrat. Not sure when it might show up as counted. Perhaps not until the official start of early voting.

Voters in red states that have been most impacted by climate change keep sending senators and representatives to Congress who block legislation that would impose forward thinking climate goals and strategies. Yet we still keep bailing these states out despite their blocking progress that would benefit them. They also have a net influx of federal money from blue states. I wish, I know it's not gonna happen, but since we didn't allow them to secede 160+ years ago, I wish we could EVICT them now.

Let’s hope that the Israel-Iran conflict doesn’t go off the rails. It’s is impossible to predict what happens when al out war breaks out, sometimes it can easily spiral out of control with unforeseen and unknowable consequences when both sides feel compelled to answer the other side with a face saving move.

You can’t overstate how dysfunctional Tennessee and Florida are in terms of state government and their representatives to the US legislature. I’m not sure which state is worse. One is trying to burn books and the other wants to eradicate public schools altogether, but maybe both states want that. The administration in Nashville seems to refuse federal assistance to their poorest citizens and waited two or three days after other states to ask for federal disaster relief. They want their poor citizens to suffer because they rule them. They no longer are interested in representing any but the most fanatics religious groups and wealthy business owners.
