What to expect when flying with AirTransat to Europe | Full Flight Review 

We are flying from Montreal to Barcelona on June 16. We have flown throughout the Caribbean, France and Italy with Transat and have never had an issue. While returning from France our pilot was Robert Piche. It's safe to say that Transat is my favorite carrier and I have flown with just about every major North American carrier.

According to Transat's website from May 2018 on Transatlantic flights a choice of two hot meals are offered as well as the " Europe Bistro Menu ". I'm travelling Vancouver to the U.K. next month and I'm pleased to see a choice of meal other than the " Bistro ". I travelled Transat to Glasgow two years ago and the " Bistro " as a meal was sadly lacking. Of course there is an option, they ( Transat ) offer a Chef's Menu for $ 25.00 ( Can. ) that looks quite good and I may just go for that. I think Air Transat are the best, just over eight and a half hours from Vancouver to Glasgow non stop, excellent, no need to go anywhere near Heathrow.

I went to Europe this year with Air Canada and and the choice was pasta or chiken. The aircraft flown was the Airbus a 330-300 and there was a 2x4x2 layout. On the flight AC 892.

I am flying with Air Transat for the first time (Montreal-Malaga) next June...thanks a lot, now I know what to expect. The meal service doesn't look appealing but most of inflight meals are these days, particularly when you fly economy class, regardless of the airline. I never expect too much food-wise, that's why I eat before getting onboard and during the fight I get something to drink, or eat whatever pre-packaged snacks they have...and coffee at the end to perk up a bit. The other option is to bring your own food. It's very hard to please everybody. Those who eat gourmet food only can fly Business or order the fancy menu in advance.

Okay folks here's a follow up, I just returned yesterday from a two week visit to Scotland. I flew return Vancouver / Glasgow, Air Transat, well I really have to give you two big thumbs up. Right on time, good seat pitch in economy ( I always choose " Option Plus " ) I chose a chef's meal, $ 25.00 and well worth it ,, delicious. Entertainment was good, nice selection, service was excellent, good job the cabin crew. There was a slight delay on the departure from Glasgow but the flight crew made that up. Service on the return flight again was excellent and the meal service was very nice with a glass of complimentary wine. I'm totally pleased travelling with Air Transat, good value for your money and good service ,,,, see you next time ,,,,

Is it a good airline to fly with going to and from Canada

Birmingham UK to Vancouver next year could anyone tell me what the leg room is like for a 6 footer. I've heard it's pretty tight?

They have really gone down the pan. Last time I flew with them it was a hot meal each way plus a more substantial pre landing snack. They also had a small glass of wine in economy with the meal. What they have dumbed down to is a poor substitute that makes BA long haul before the last pre pandemic revamp look good.

You guys are lucky. You flew on the A330. My flight sadly had the A310 which has no inflight entertainment systems. I just uploaded my experience. Go check it out. Overall great stuff.

Too bad, I enjoyed my flights from Vancouver to Glasgow which I've taken a number of times. That service is no longer available with Air Transat at least the non stop service is no longer available. I flew with Transat last September, Vancouver / Glasgow, flight time 8 hours 35 minutes, cost $ 1037.90 ( including " option plus " ). If I book now on the dates I wish to travel it's 14.50 hours to Glasgow and 18.20 hours on the return flight. They have also priced themselves out the door, return flight $ 1498.88 ,, not a chance I'll pay that, British Airways $ 1203.65, flight time ( including stopover ) 11 hours. Air Canada $ 1110.93, 12 hours 20 minutes including stopovers. So good bye Air Transat, it was good while it lasted.

I have flown many times with airtransat and have found them to be great ,way better than Air Canada ,they treat you like dirt Spend your money with airtransat

No bottle water is the biggest problem

Air Transat lost my luggage on my way to Europe last month. When I arrived, I was told that I would get it the next day, so I was stranded in Europe without my belongs - not even a toothbrush, deodorant or a pair of pajamas - but didn't buy anything. They said my luggage would arrive the next day, and buying stuff would mean that I would have to take it back home too. But my luggage never arrived. I kept calling the numbers they provided, and no one ever answered. I e-mailed the addresses provided, and STILL haven't received a response. When I was finally able to get a hold of a laptop, I completed a claim form (the form wouldn't submit from a smart phone). The airline ruined my trip. My luggage eventually arrived after 11 days. Days after I had returned home from my trip. When it did arrive, the telescoping handle on my brand new luggage no longer worked - so I have to buy a new suitcase too. I was never refunded the money they charged me to check my baggage. I was never compensated in any way, not even for the stuff I had to buy. I have never received an apology. I've never even been contacted by the airline. WORST. AIRLINE. EVER. But yes, the purple ambient lighting was pretty.

We flew TransAt yyz-pop-yyz A330. Great service onboard the A330!!!! Will fly them again but bump up to Club Class. Economy is comfortable but more than 4 hours is too long.

I am just telling my experience of my trip from Toronto to Rome on air transat. It was not nice sitting in a 3-3-3 configuration on an Airbus A330 it is very tight. We didn't even get menus and had to eat the same thing. DONT FLY AIR TRANSAT
