I climbed Old Rag, (up the rock scramble, and down the fire road), with my son about 3 weeks ago. I’m 64 years old, and NOT an avid hiker, but I am active and like to take 4 mile walks, so I felt like I was up for the challenge. Oh my goodness, it was the biggest challenge of my life. So thankful I was smart enough to hike with my son; I would not have made it otherwise. It was a beautiful hike, with awesome and awe inspiring vistas. I’m so glad I made it, with relatively few scrapes and bruises, and a lot of aches the next day, but all in all, I was fine! If I were younger, I’d do it again, but for now, once is enough! I bought the T-shirt, and am looking forward to another hike, but one less challenging than the notorious Old Rag.
Agree..one of the hardest hikes I ever done but congratulations for completing such a challenging hike. I'm sure It was a memorable experience and something you can share with others.
