EUREKA! National Children's Museum
Since visiting ThinkTank in Birmingham last year we have always wanted to visit Eureka! The National Children's Museum. Having a few days off work and using the Tesco Clubcard voucher exchange we were able to grab ourselves a cheap visit, even though it's a 2hr drive away.
There is a large car park on site that is just a short walk away, this is pay and display but does take cards and cash. You then follow the yellow brick road towards the entrance. We were greeted at the entrance by a very friendly member of staff, to be fair all the staff were amazing and super friendly towards the children.
I could go on and on about all the exhibits such as the huge set of teeth the kids brushed, the giant tongue, the huge play house, Soundspace and the Spark Gallery but there is just too much to list. The main thing here is every single exhibit is designed for children, they are all at the perfect height for little ones and designed to be messed with and explored. You really feel like an adult in a kid's world here.
With booking being compulsory the numbers are limited. This gives the benefits of restricted numbers and we never felt crowded or rushed but if you did want to chill out a little then you can use the creativity space. We sat and did some drawing here, taking part in our own little 3 marker challenge.
Our visit lasted 2 hours but you could spend as long or as little as you want here, it just depends on how much detail you look at the exhibits in.
It is a great museum and you are guaranteed a good time with the kids because if your kids are happy, then you as a parent will be happy.
