Here is my Bluemuda lawn after one full season. Let’s look at the backyard, front yard, and side yard to see how it stands. The best part of it was the Barenbrug Turf Blue HGT and I will use it again for future KBG projects in the transition zone.

I am still going to document it over this winter. The kill off wont happen until April or May.

Well, that's the thing about experiments: you learn a lot! The knowledge you gained is invaluable and I really enjoyed watching the journey. Besides, if you want green in the Winter, you can always do a rye overseed. Thanks for the content!

🤣 Paint... good one! Question for you: I need to replace the bearings on my GM 1600...I saw your video on that, but you had already removed the cutting unit from your mower beforehand. How hard is this to do and do you think I have a reasonable shot at success doing it myself? I have zero experience with greens mowers and haven't done anything with this one yet because the blades won't spin (reel doesn't spin freely and I was told it needed new bearings)

I think the Bluemuda had a great run! Sure, now it doesn’t look it’s best, but late spring, early fall, it’s popping!

I was just out front in my Bluemuda this morning thinking it looks like crap this time of year and thought, "I wonder how Reel Low Dad's is doing?" Came inside and saw this, good timing. lol.

Happy to take the Bluemuda torch from you and run with it. I'd like to say this journey has be helpful. I'll put the KBG through it's paces in Climate Zone 8 in Dallas, TX. 7-weeks in and so far so good. The Bermuda is hanging onto color, surprisingly. May let the first season grow longer around 1.1" to 1.5" to allow the KBG to spread rhizomes, then reset the height the following season, assuming it doesn't go through drought stress.

My bermuda is still holding onto some color I'm Charlotte, NC also. I'm the only one though. All the rest of the bermuda around here is "paper sack brown" as Pete would say.

@@Zachary_Setzer Love that guy! It could be the low HOC, fertility program, and/or November/December have be above average temps in Dallas, TX. Great to see it green still. It's showing more signs of fading now that sunlight is shorter.
