Having ridden the TGV in France, I can't wait to ride this one. Once this is operational, the rest of California will demand that California HSR (LA to SF) be completed ASAP!
Yes, the European trains are impressive. I love the Madrid to Seville line.. As for the LA to SF route under construction,, fingers crossed as the cost mounts!
Do you know you don't need to drive in TGV. This stupid rail requires driving even it extends to LA union Station . Don't even bring metrolink. Currently, Metrolink cannot even transport people from downtown LA in the middle of day to Cucamonga. Oh, you have to drive to union Station. I love people keep bringing France n ignore the part that public transportation inLA n Vegas are terrible.
@@SaulSGonzalezpublic transportation are excellent, but HSR supporters will not mention. You guys will come out 10 million reasons why public transportation is not important in USA.
@@commentorsilensor3734 A silly comment. Of course MetroLink is valid because it's a direct link from LA Union to Rancho Cucamonga. That's also beyond the fact that MetroLink will see upgrades to service & frequency over the next few years via the SCORE program. Even the whole "MetroLink doesn't transport people from downtown in the middle of the day" doesn't hold water to anyone who looks at the current schedule. Go ahead and have a seat.
@@SaulSGonzalez maybe, i flew into LA from Australia, then had to drive to Vegas, if i could get off a plane and straight onto a train and be at the strip in 2 hours, i think it would be way better than having to get your luggage, be an hour early for the next flight, then fly, then mess around getting your bags, then get to your hotel….but i guess bright-line have done their homework……
@@steeleaquainwhen you go to Tokyo, you still have to retrieve luggage. You still navigate maze of airport n station. Even rail goes to Burbank, you are not going to vegas in 2 hours Why people keep using instances as an excuse to build rail
Well, that advert is completely deceiving. It gets nowhere near the beaches of LA. More like 60 miles away. There is a lot that hasn't been clearly delineated. How are they going to traverse the Cajon Pass for one or the steep grade coming into and out of the Vegas valley.
I mention that the train will stop short of Los Angeles, where passengers will have to connect to commuter rail, but, yes, the Brightline video, elides that issue. As for the Cajon Pass up to the desert, yes, that will probably be the most significant engineering challenges.
It's a great thing however, its primary focus will be funneling tourists in/out of Las Vegas and will do little to alleviate traffic issues in Las Vegas. While it does not affect me, a lot of people would like to see more local public transport around town.
Good luck with. American train supporters do not support local public transportation . This is private fund. Oh, federal government is going to subsidize. HSR connect two cities on the edge of desert just to transport gamblers. It makes no sense. There are not many people n towns in between, so an expensive project just for gamblers. How about improve local public transportation? Sorry American train supporters don't like
Yes, other HSR lines around the world do have higher speeds, but this will be faster than the fastest trains currently operating in the U.S., like Brightline in Florida and Amtrak's Acela traveling the Eastern Corridor.
Are you talking about the 19 mile maglev line that hasn't been extended since opening? Not the line whose operational top speed has been reduced to 300 KMH which would put it lower than the proposed 320 KMH operating top speed of the Brightline West line right?
America is 60+ years behind the rest of the world on hs rail. And we are 120 years behind on standard rail. We are 100 years behind on local public transit and we cant also get nice bike lanes. But Isreal and Ukraine both get hundreds of billions and the pentagon loses 2 trillion to thin air every 8 years. And never once passed an audit.
@@SaulSGonzalezit's useless because public transportation in both LA n Vegas are terrible. Transporting gamblers between 2 cities on HSR is waste. People keep bringing other countries. In other countries, HSR connects contiguous cities with lots population. People come n go in different areas. People just don't take HSR for a sole purpose. Oh, public transportation is excellent. Don't bring metrolink in Cucamonga. It's not efficient. Don't bring you need cars to use rails, those are terrible. You went to Europe. This is a terrible idea compared to Europe, but you just wanted to blind one side of equation, public transportation.
