Same here firt time I saw a hummer h2 was back in 03 u was in high school and when I saw I coming down the street it looked like a tank fell in love and 50 cent made them popular he had 3 hummer h2 in the wanksta video
Ive got two of them. Most issues like marker lights leaking, ac, etc are pretty easy to fix. What I would look for is interior such as door panels and dash. Hummer doors shut with a feathers touch so EVERYONE slams the doors and it destroys the door panels. Good luck to anyone looking to buy one. Take your time and buy the one you love
I used to get mad every time someone would slam the doors like they was sealing their life problems away 😂😂 . Till this day I’m pretty sure my front passenger window regulator went bad do to hard slamming.
Just bought a 2008 H2 that was owned by a dealer. Bulletproof 6" lift, 38/1550/20 tires/wheels, Gobi full rack and all new suspension and it runs like a top with 123K miles. You can really tell when someone truly loves and takes care of a vehicle (tons of maint receipts) - this one is like new! I am putting a Roofnest Falcon tent on it, putting in drawers/storage in the back and turning this into my overland vehicle. Jazzed!
Make sure all the electric seat controls work, get the U-steps, make sure the climate controls work on both sides of the truck (heat and AC), check the front wheel bearings, look at the radiator and transmission fluid for cross contamination, and get a new air filter. Look at the tow hitch to get an idea how much it was used to tow. If you want it lifted, lift it yourself to make sure it was done right. Also, check the ball joints and ball joint boots because they are almost always torn.
There's a rubber grommet underneath each of the corner roof marker lights. They come loose and water will get in. Clean up the area around the grommet and silicone it back in.
I have a 2005 Hummer H2 I just replaced my roof top marker lights. After a recent heavy ran and water started dripping water through the roof dome lights. I replaced my set of side view mirrors. I ordered them from my local GMC dealership and they installed them. I removed my roof racks years ago and I like the profile much better with them off. I removed the the third seat. No one can sit back there anyway. The spare tire is mounted in the cargo area. Let people know that they need to do proper maintenance and use the synthetic products for the oil, transmission, etc for all the moving parts. I actually scraped the rear air suspension system and went with a Bilstein shock system. They’re fun to drive and own!! They’re awesome to own!
Thanks for watching. I searched for a non air ride equipped H2 till I found mine . bilsteins are great the ride quality improves tremendously. Again thanks for watching stick around .
EXCELLENT!!!...I AM BUYING ANOTHER H2..LOVE HUMMERS..MANY OFF ROADED AND ABUSED...YOU FIND ITS HISTORY IN THE DETAILS.!!.YOU POINTED OUT THE LITTLE THINGS THAT HIDE BIG BIG REPAIRS.....THANK YOU FOR SAVING ME TONS OF REPAIR MONEY...I WAS TOTALLY IGNORANT WHEN I BOUGHT BEFORE...NOW I KNOW...THANKS..J
Loved the video but did not realize this H-2 had these problems.Thank you for pointing them out.I love my 2006 H-3 and like the H-2 feel great when I drive it.
Been my dream vehicle since I was a child, I’m 26 now and my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has some upgrades done to it and it’s a V8 back rims, tinted windows, metallic gray, don’t see a lot that look like mine or sound like mine lol but it’s getting up there on miles and it’s time for me another vehicle, my woman’s got a Tahoe so I thought about getting a YuKon but I’m going to just wait till next year, save and buy my dream truck! I’m wanting a 2008 Hummer H2 bc it’s got the 4L80 6 speed transmission and the updated ecu, hopefully I don’t have to save more than 17k and I’m glad I found this video!
@@dailydrivenH2 I have to wait till next year anyway lol, I only have 10 grand saved up right now! Trying to save up 17k and looking for one around that price and yes I see prices on everything are high this year and you’re welcome! Your video helped out a lot. Only hard part will be Finding a 2008 for around 17k and it’s got to have black interior! Do you know of any sites to look on that actually give good deals outside of FB Market Place?
Hey man, Ive been watching your videos for a while and your channel has serious potential. Honestly, If you scripted your videos (brainstorm ur ideas, then write a full script) and make them a decent length (5-10) minutes and filled with information that you have said in many of your previous videos, you would have some very very good content on your hands. Also. Show your sub count. Believe it or not, showing that will make your viewers want to help you grow.
Thanks for all the advice. I spend quite some time researching . This year i wanted to experiment with a hidden sub count for some time and see what the results are eventually ill show it back up . The last video I posted was 30 mins long for a few reasons 1 i need to bring my watch time back up and a long video does 2 things for the algorithm 1 makes RU-vid share the video even more with non subscribers that potentially could turn into new subscribers there for it also helps me build watchtime and leaving some information out of the video was also intended to create more interaction in the comments that also triggers the algorithm to share the video even more .
@@dailydrivenH2 Cool. Just thought an outside opinion would be of some value. I’d be interested to see your results on the hidden sub count. Also I don’t follow you on instagram. I don’t have any social media other than RU-vid. I don’t want to become an addict.
We have had our 03 H2 since 2007 , it has 138060 miles on it and we daily drive it. I live in Pacific Northwest and the 4x4 is used year around. We love our Hummer and thanks for the info mercial .
So I used to drive Hummer stretch limos and we had this one that would leak and I thought it was the conversion but now I know it was just the marker lights leaking. By the way indrive tractor trailer for a living and those stretch Hummers were by far the hardest vehicle to turn the wheels. I'm guessing to much weight.
Dailydrivenh2, please do video on ground straps and how important ground straps is for H2 2005,s for some of electronic,s inside the Hummer to function correctly.
Good to know Was thinking about getting one 🤔 The lights issue and rust got me worried about getting one. I see texas has low mileage ones but they are expensive
Whats your favorite thing about your H2 and what fluids do you use? I just switched all my fluids to Royal Purple. Next thing on my list is to get the weathertech floor mats
My favorite thing is the look honestly as far as fluids i use Mobil one for engine oil and gear oil for my differentials is also Mobil one . The shop that got my transmission rebuild never told me whats on my trans as far as fluids but royal purple is some good stuff
Royal purple motor oil, Mobil 1 gear oil, royal purple power steering, and Valvoline full synthetic trans fluid. Also dot 4 brake fluid makes a big difference in the earlier H2’s (2003-2007).
Hi thanks for all your tips. Since you had H2 for a long time, I just need your input about how expensive is it for a oil change, how many miles before you change the oil, how expensive are the car parts and tires? It will be great if you let us know. Thanks in advance.
@@RajuDas-ex5hb in my opinion the parts that get expensive are sometimes interior trim parts that are not made anymore even on ebay used interior parts can get really expensive .
@@dailydrivenH2 thanks for your input. The next thing was how expensive is oil change and after how many miles need to change the oil? Example for my Ford focus i change oil after every 3000 miles and it costs around $40. Would like to know about H2 what to expect?
Im looking at buying a 06 H2 SUT blue and near mint. has 175,000 miles i saw a leak behind the transmission that was dripping just a little dark oil? Would that be a front main seal leak any idea the cost to repair? is it worth 18,000.? Super nice in and out. any advice would be appreciated
I would recommend to keep looking and lets say you do find something similar with less miles not so close to 200k try to stay away from any trucks with any kind of leaks that the dealership is not willing to fix before you buy it .
Im having trouble with acceleration while im going on the freeway flat road it accelerates itself dropping a gear and obviously wasting a lot of gas i have rebuilt the transmission 4 months ago and serviced diff trasnfer case brand new also 3 months ago so id really want to know whats causing this and how i can fix it because it’s driving me crazy
You used to be able to get your hands on a clean 03 for about 15k to 20k $ but todays used car market prices are all over but for the must part them numbers are still double. Check out car gurus the cleanest 03 i had seen was going for around 30k$ with 31k miles …
My husband just purchased a 2005 h2, but cant get the radio to come on or scrern to light up, just nothing, has anyone had these issues, need some answer as what to do next.
Por que Cará' le voy a dar like al video, si todavia ni lo e visto, a mi no me manda nadie 🤣🤣 Im just playing, wanted to see if I was right and you know Spanish, por el acento jaja
@@darrellharris2528 Ifnit sounds like the lifters I would take a quick trip to a shop to have it look at . The last time someone that I know started to get a weird ticking from the lifters it went from a small tick to hole lot of other things gone out really quick
@@dailydrivenH2 Inside...in mint condition. Im saving for outside Road Armor one. I bought one last year. 03 94,000 miles. floorboards were soaked, Drivers mirror wont fold, Road salt rustr from PA. your 110% spot on.....fixed all that now im modding it over overland touring.
Ok ima save u some time get a air compressor and then take off the plastic that it on the roof window when u do u should see two holes get the air compressor and brow the trash if ur doing it right u should she trash coming out from the engine compartment then water should not go In no more than
got a H2 2003. so solid but so fragile in terms of electronics and finishes. Extremely delicate, doors, sunroof, any bottoms, leaks! Nothing on a Hummer is cheap to fix. But I love it and hope to keep it until my very last day ;p
Thanks for the info. Trying to decide on whether to buy a New 2022-23 Bronco $65-80k and get 24 mpg or the Hummer 2 what I can get for $12-25k but will cost me $4500-6000 a year in fuel at 10-12 mpg. Love them both.
Wait till you try and replace your frint yoke shaft boot on the driveline.. took me finding the right part by look because everytime I ordered the one fore my truck with the vin number they sent the wrong one.. just fixed it yesterday super simple when you actually get the right part..
You in California? Where at? Im in downtown Riverside. I have the same color as your Hummer. I did a lot of work on my Hummer H2l My Hummer also has 58k miles and just did everything new, including a cam swap.
Thats if you are even lucky to find a H2. I'd totally buy a H2 if they weren't so expensive for their age and mileage, and if they weren't 3+ hours away
Thx 4 the video. I just bought my first. 2005 H2…Maybe this is why the two outer front roof lights aren’t working 🤔🤔 And my headliner is doing the exact same thing at the top of the windshield. Totally scared to check the 4 wheel drive now 😂😂…. No really 😢😢 I’m scared. Well, I definitely know NOW, why the mirrors are the way they are…and can’t find any decent ones priced under $250 used.
Bought a 2nd H2 this color and I have a black one too that I daily drive. Thinking about blacking out the grill on the beige one. It has a chrome brush guard but I'm replacing it with a black one. A few slight dents slipped past me when I was looking at purchasing it but I think I can have them pulled out hopefully not too much money. The paint is really good on it though better than the black one I had. Yeah, the beige one I just bought the mirrors don't fold in at all. The black one works fine. Oh well. I haven't fold in the windows that much anyway. My beige one didn't have a 3rd row seat but I put the one from the black one in it since I put a full 3rd row in it. I probably shouldn't have bought the beige one, it also had a cracked dash but I got a replacement and it was missing the front skid plate but I got one to install. Several things I didn't notice but I was in a hurry and out of town. I'll fix it up, prices have gone up on these.
Yeah prices had spiked up a bit . Mine came without the rear seat I wanted the space in the rear so i was not crazy about installing a rear seat back in there .
There are two plastic covers on the outside of the A pillars that support the front window ... as time goes by the 3m glue on the plastic pillars fades the gets hard and air will begin to get under the plastic as you drive. You need to get the H2 up to about 60mph ... and you will notice a audible vibration from the front pillars ... the faster you go the louder and more annoying the sound will get ... as air is pushed faster and faster under the plastic ... To repair this you can do two things ... #1) You can order new pillars covers from GM and have someone install them for you or install them yourself ... there are only 2 screws holding the covers in place once you open the door ... #2) you can pull the covers off yourself ... shoot some silicone up under them where the 3m tape used to be and screw them back onto the H2 ... I suggest waiting 24 hours to drive it if you do that ... If you chose to replace the covers with new ones you should be good for the next 5 to 6 years ... if you go the cheaper route and use the silicone ... you may have to repeat the process every year or two ...
I just came across your channel. Thinking about buying a 180k mile H2 from private seller in Connecticut. Thank you for telling me these tips! I subscribed
@@dailydrivenH2 I definitely can afford it but the vehicle is garbage and I'm here to let others know its not always if you can afford it but the preference as well

@@dailydrivenH2 your lucky, im in dallas, i replace the radiator and the while cooling system at a garage, still ran hot. I sold my mine a few years ago, im looking to buy another one this year.
I replaced my radiator a few years ago but only because there was a small crack on one side and I wanted to be ahead . I cant complain about it cause for a 2004 mine has ran solid
From what I know 2 scenarios I had seen one the key got stuck because a bad switch and #2 was related to a cable thats under the center glovebox that when it gets old could cause a bit of a short and not let the key move at all or wont allow the keys to get out .
