Old trucks are not not New trucks - It appears people are spoiled or just money hungry (attempting to profit off others?) I'm currently attempting to sell my 92 (same truck) here in Southern California (15071 miles) asking $8000. But being low balled (probably will keep forever because of low ballers) I dont sell cars everyday (someone could get a great truck and still profit from it)

Sand it down take a air hammer and run it on the rails. That will find the weaker spots that you can’t see Mark everything that needs patching then use some thick 1/4 or 3/8 steel whatever yoh wonna use and patch it all up maybe some 1 foot even 2 foot if you won’t to. And all the little holes that pop up sand it all down to bare metal and file it about a inch in all directions or untill you hit some thicker rail and patch it with steel and give it a good solid weld. I don’t recommend taking it to a shop because it is not cheap. And if you won’t more tips then there should def be vids on RU-vid for more information edit. Practice welding before trying it on your frame. With some scrap metal that’s going to be the same thickness as what your using on the frame. And get your speed right and practice your beed and lines

do valve clearance if you can, change spark plugs and wires

eliminate the crossover pipe behind the engine, it is not needed, this causes head gasket problems. too much heat on the heads at the rear where the crossover pipe sits.

94&95 are same generation

@@NuttyNu thanks Yeah I know it’s still a third gen and I know from 93 to 94 they added the center tail light in the cabin but not sure what they changed or added or removed from the 94 to 95 aside from removing the ability to get a long bed on the 4wd model Figured I’d ask haha thanks

@@95YotaPickup I have a 93 and 95 toyota with the 3vze. There aren't very many differences. The center tail light. I think the tint of the colors for the climate control. The light that comes on for high beams on the dash is a different tint of blue too. My 93 has the same fan as the one this guy is showing plus the fan shroud he is missing, but my 95 has a different fan. I'm not sure if the 95 fan was aftermarket or they changed the design though. My 93 didn't come with cruise control and air conditioning so it it's less complicated under the hood and has the 2 spoke instead of the 3 spoke steering wheel with the cruise control buttons. I'm sure if I looked at them closely there would be more differences under the truck or under the hood, but I can't remember them off hand.

Price it right and high for the right owner. Too cheap and some kid might grab it and destroy it

I just got a 94 4Runner 4x4 SR5 in auto. I wish I got a manual, it’s super slow especially uphills.

@@NuttyNu I am referring to the 22re. I just need extra power to get on free way in my area, I feel it’s too slow and has been dangerous. I have one and I don’t know what to do just to make it a bit faster to get on freeway. Do you have any suggestions for my 22re to make it faster getting on to freeways

@@tjmcdermott6347 I bought it and I'm still driving it. I replaced the battery, alternator, starter and tires. I thought the battery and alternator was the problem, I was wrong. It was the starter. Either way I got all of that changed plus 4 brand new big ass all terrain tires. It runs without problem now. Has an oil leak I'm still wanting to get fixed. It had (and still has) some problems, but it runs fine now, and has NO problem in the desert. (Better than my old Cherokee) I am happy with my purchase. I paid $3100 on the purchase, and spent around a grand more to make it reliable, I'm happy with it.

By the way, I subtracted the price of the tires from the mechanic work. The tires were almost 800 bucks on there own.

I just paid $7500 for a 91 4wd xtra cab with 22RE & 5 spd manual. Hardly any rust spots and it has 128k miles. Needs some work but I think it was a fair price to pay.

No not worth the price tbh something with over 200k miles that has not had any major engine work done it not worth it with a new engine or other parts yea but for the most part reasonable price will be around 3k with decent paint

Clearly dont know about these trucks because first off they’re a 2.4 not 2.7 seconds the timing chain guides were the biggest problems with these trucks breaking due to being plastic then metal

The 4 cylinder engines in the Tacoma that came after the 22re are just as good as a 22re,if not better, more horsepower for one...give it 20 yrs and you'll see...

Thats not a bad price my dad is looking for a 89-94 model. Looking to spend around 10k or so. These trucks are getting really hard to find

@@adamclay6379 where are you located? I have a nice 94. 4x4 5 speed 22re. Newer frame with only 20k miles on it. 22re with 60k miles. Body has 147k on it...absolutely gorgeous truck.
