Handy tip for Alaska cruise where you might be traveling across open ocean - like the one-way trips between Vancouver, BC and Whittier / Seward, AK Check with your doctor beforehand about getting some motion sickness -patches-. I had some of these on our last cruise and it saved the voyage for me. The patches are inexpensive when you get them from a regular land based pharmacy - but if you wait until you're on the cruise ship they will be super pricey. Today I am armchair traveling with you, Sheri! Thanks for the fun!!!
What a great opportunity for you! You'll have to fill me in on what a 'luxury' cruise ship is all about. :) I'll be paying close attention to ALL the Alaska videos as we hope to finally go in June 2024. (We'll be on Princess, so I'm psyched about the laundry -- )
Leaving in 6 weeks for our 3rd Alaska Cruise. My #1 idem that I didn’t bring on the first cruise was a really soft and comfortable lounge/sweat outfit. Something you can throw on early to grab coffee, or wear on a rainy sea day when you find that perfect spot with a great view to read your book or playing trivia.
Lovely cabin. Great Video. Yes, laundry is the key to carry on packing. We usually take advantage of RCCL's wash & fold service for jeans & pajamas. That saves room in our suitcase.
@@CruiseTipsTV whale watching in Auke Bay (Juneau) and Deadliest Catch (Ketchikan). It rained while whale watching and the rain gear allowed us to be outside on the top deck while everyone else was crammed inside below.
Alaska’s weather was so great last week on the Carnival Spirit! I felt like I over packed because I didn’t need my heavy coat or rain layer, but it would have been perfect if we did have a rainy or chilly day. Thanks for all your Alaskan videos! ♥️
This is so helpful and thanks so much Sheri I appreciate it so much and you are amazing 🏝️🩵🏝️🌞🌞🛳️🌞🏝️🩵🏝️💛💛🌞🌞💛🏝️🩵💛🌞🛳️🛳️🌞💛🏝️🩵🩵🩵🏝️🩵🩵🩵🏝️💛🛳️🛳️🛳️🛳️🛳️💛🏝️🩵🩵🩵🩵🌞🌞
Live your stateroom!! We went to Alaska for the midnight sun. Definitely over packed on the heavier clothing, we did use the solarium alot so under packed the swim wear. We didnt have to fly to our embarkation port so that was pretty helpful. Happy sailing everyone
Thank you Sheri and Mr Cruise tips TV this was so helpful! Loved the format as room tour combo too. Heading on my first ever cruise next week and it’s to Alaska! We’re lucky we can drive to port but still want to pack lighter - I’m a carry on girl at heart. But travelling with our sweet but sticky, newly potty trained toddler 😆 so I think I’ll be seeing a lot of the self service laundry on our Carnival ship! When you do make your podcast or YT episode about “mistakes made” for packing I’d love to know the count all of you brought of each item eg x long sleeve tees. One day I’d love to go on Seabourn looks fab! 💕 🦅 PS I ordered a grey version of the bum bag/fanny pack bag you showed - wanted an upgrade for my current nylon one. Thanks for the recommendation!
We just returned from 14 day Alaska Seabourn cruise abd loved it. We had fabulous weather, only one day where fog kept viewing at bay. Wonderful food, great service, and terrific views. I way overpacked, and probably used half of it. Next cruise is definately going to be carry on and Seabourn. Well worth the extra money. Some of the other vodeos you've done on the biggies - Carnival, Princess, etc., show me that i will never go with the crowds on those ships. Never!
I’m so glad you had a wonderful time. We’re so happy we discovered Seabourn as well. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I can’t really even call it a “cruise”. I think it’s great that you’ve discovered that you want to pack lighter. Usually that’s the most effective way to start packing carry-on or light. Having one of those experiences really changes the way you pack and it’s nice that on Seabourn they have self serve laundry!
Why do you not post any cruising vlogs anymore? I loved them so much. I've been on your RU-vid channel and can't find any recent cruises you've taken. I find myself re-watching old cruises that you've taken because I enjoy them so much. 🤣
Hey David, that’s so kind - thank you!’ Well, sadly, people stopped watching that type of video and we had to pivot. I’m not sure why the interest waned- but I miss the vlog style content too. People seem to want (and respond to) more informational stuff these days
I agree, I loved the cruising vlogs as they gave you the opportunity to see the different ports and activities on offer. The Alaska vlog on Grand Princess was my inspiration to book a cruise there. All this information, while useful, is pretty boring. Surely people do not need to be told what and how to pack for a vacation. Cruising vlogs are my travel catalogue to look through and be inspired by. Sorry Sheri but I have been very disappointed with your recent content.
We loved making the vlogs too, and it's sad hear you are disappointed in our content. Let me ask you this, what would you do if you were us- if very few people were watching the vlogs anymore, (after spending 3+ hours a day on a cruise creating, then 40+ hours editing) what would you do?
Sheri, I know it is very difficult to please everyone and I apologise if my comments seemed harsh. I have looked forward to and loved yor cruise vlogs and I really miss them. I would ask why people (like me) started to follow you guys in the first place. My only suggestion would be to do some of both, some information vlogs and some cruising vlogs. That way you get to please everyone. 😊
Have a amazing fun time Alaska cruise line Sheri and your family sounds amazing fun xoxo 😘 🌞🩵🛳️🩵🌞💛🏝️💛🌞🛳️🛳️🩵🌞💛💛💛🌞🛳️🛳️🩵🌞💛🏝️💛🌞🩵🛳️🛳️🩵🌞🏝️🏝️🏝️🏝️🏝️💛🩵🩵🛳️🩵💛🏝️💛🌞🛳️🛳️🩵💛🏝️
Thank You for sharing!! Hope you guys enjoyed your trip. We are going in July of 2024, for our second Alaskan Adventure!! This will help out tremendously!!
Topher and I plan to go "Carry-on Only" on our upcoming Alaska Cruise (30 days...wooooo). We've done "Carry-On Only" for our past few cruises and love not having to go to baggage claim.
I just heard your podcast about the Seabourn! I went on the encore for a Western Med cruise and loved it but I’m trying a suite on a celebrity ship to see which I like better. Not sure if they still have this, but when I sailed on encore they had daily caviar service on request. You just place a call for room service and caviar with all the trimmings showed up a few minutes later.
Looks like a great cruise but Seabourn are sooooo expensive! For the cost of one of their cruises, you can do at least 2 or 3 with Celebrity or Princess as an example.
Sheri I have a question I am going on a cruise to Mexico on carnival cruise line on December is the time zone the same or different on the cruise? We are heading off from port in Tampa Florida xoxo 😘 thanks so much 🏝️🩵🌞🏝️🛳️💛💛🛳️🏝️🌞🩵🩵🌞🏝️🛳️💛🛳️🏝️🌞🩵🩵🏝️🛳️💛💛💛🏝️🩵
It varies. Sometimes they do change the time on the ship to match the short time other times they don’t. They will let you know when the daily newsletter - don’t worry Lauren.
