When I went on my first cruise I was a bit concerned about the formal dress requirements because I don't own anything fancy. I was relieved to find out you're not required to wear a suit and tie or a tuxedo or anything like that. As long as you have a pair of slacks and a polo shirt you're fine. If you do have a nice suit or a tux that would be great but it's not required. On some of the formal nights I saw plenty of guys wearing jeans and sneakers so don't worry too much about it. Many people do not feel comfortable getting dressed up and that's fine.
Yes most cruise lines have changed from formal to 'evening chic' which is optional. I love dressing up but not everyone does and that's fine, no one looks out of place and everyone can enjoy cruising without any pressure of wearing formal clothes 😊
Nice job on the suits and tuxedo! All his formal clothing fit perfect and thank you for not emasculating the gent by making him match colors with you like he's some kind of purse accessory of yours. I've been looking on Pinterest for formal night cruise pictures and holy moly, 99% of the poor people don't know how to dress up! All the tuxedos or suits were very poor fitted: sleeves too long, pants puddling, dirty shoes, the wrong shoes, ugly colored shirts , you name it , it's there!
Jesus Christ your comment. Cruising not for rich or poor people. Its for everyone. Many people cant be bothered bringing their best because 1) this isn't the 1900s on the Titanic and 2) many can not fit them into their cases or want to crush them (especially when they have to fly to the homeport).... therefore many just bring an old suit or not their best one. I cant believed you referred to anyone as the poor people.... fucking hell
Holy pretentious. People where what they want, and with what they have. I love a great fitted suit but I don't wear dress shoes, cause who really cares besides you obviously. And that doesn't matter.
