A flight attendant friend warned us against wearing dusters, wide leg pants and anything floaty as it will get nasty in the bathroom and rub up against everything and everyone.
Another flight attendant friend here🙋🙋. Yes!!! I came to say exactly this! I was cringe-ing the whole time 😖😖. Once you slide your trousers down to use the loo those bottoms are gonna get all kinds of nasty on them from the lavatory floor! And don't think you'll be able to hold them up somehow either, cuz the minute we hit an unexpected bump you'll be grabbing for the rails and not your pants🤣🤣🤣. Just do some nice stretchy pants like the black ones she showed. Those are my tried and true when I non rev!
Came here to say the same thing! Those pants and long jacket on the left are going to get ruined because guys can’t pee on an airplane and get it in the toilet.
Yeap! 100% You May be careful but the person sitting next to you could just as easily spill food or drink &, you could end up as his victim🤣😂. I speak from experience. No WHITES ever!
Thanks so much for this tip!! I'll have to remember that in the future when my husband and I travel. Also, I hate shoe laces, love slip-on shoes and would prefer velcro instead of laces.
Great tips if only traveling first class or on a private jet. The reality is airplanes are dirty; the seats, tray, floors and bathrooms. Wear clothes that are comfortable and you are not going to wear them again during your trip. I suggest dedicating clothes only for airplane travel and bring wipes to sanitize the seat buckle and tray.
Wear pants you can bring your knees up comfortably in, wear a hoodie (or bring an eyemask) since they don’t always turn off the lights on the red eyes. Bring a full extra outfit for the next day / if your bag is lost / you’re delayed. Planes are really gross and if you’re landing in the morning, taking the time to go to the bathroom, get changed, brush your teeth and wash your face will be the best feeling and prep you for the day
Best plane outfit is joggers set, or jeggings and a shirt plus a mid length cardigan so u can also use it as a blanket coz sometimes it gets rly cold in the cabin. and easy to slip on sneakers. Pls dont wear shorts in flights, im a flight attendant for 8 yrs and i swear the cleaners are always in a rush to clean the seats esp in economy if u are seating there, sometimes they dont even have time to clean all the seats. I dont even wna have any skin contact in plane surfaces for long flights. I’d wear thin longsleeves and a jogger or leggings for warmer weather. And yeah skip wideleg pants, it’s gross when u have to pee and the ends get wet in the toilet 😅
I've heard to wear natural fibers like cotton. In case of fire, polyester, and synthetic fabrics, etc. will melt to your skin and will burn deep. Sensible shoes are smarter instead of heels or sandals. But I like her interchangeable clothing ideas. Plan for the worst and be happy when you get the best.
Agree. I've always read about wearing natural fabrics, warned against wearing synthetics and wearing good shoes that won't fall off your feet if you have to move quickly - not just in emergencies. I was happy to be wearing such good shoes when my gate was suddenly changed to the opposite end of the airport and I had less than 10 minutes to get there.
@Druid Riley Yes, you're right. At the Dallas Airport, my connecting flight was always on the other side with barely enough time to get there, so you're practally running through the airport. And always count the seat rows from you to the closest emergency exit. Years ago, Oprah did a great program on this subject.
Absolutely. Those man made (petroleum based) products light up like the 4th of July. This is in our cheap carpets, drapes, furnishings too. That’s why homes go up so quickly.
It’s all wrong for me; white gets dirty quickly, long cardigan can caught germs easily, shoes with laces are hard to take off during inspection at the custom.
Something nice but comfortable is key. A very long flight I was on kept getting delayed (eventually it was an 11 hours delay) and sitting in the airport was the only option. My jersey dress and leggings made were much more comfortable than jeans would have been.
If you are flying first thing in the morning don't put on accessories that need to be removed at Security. You can put on a non--critical belt or jewelry after TSA. Know where in your carry-on is a convenient pocket for the contents of your pockets and put your stuff there after ID check if you are waiting in line. Your stuff will always be safer--and far more convenient, than in a bin or bowl.
I live in Northern Ireland. In May, it's usually no more than 15C at best, but rather lower and most likely rainy. No matter the weather, if people are going to Spain on a week holiday, they go to the airport in shorts, tank top and flip-flops 😊
You guys, for shoes. My go tos are crocs. If you have to take them off during tsa check, traveling somewhere hot, it’s a lifesaver. Just wear socks under some planes are cold
I heard flowy clothes like long sweaters aren’t good in airports because they can get caught in things like escalators, moving walk ways and on plane seat as get in and out.
1. Don't wear shorts, skirts or dresses. I have been to one where a kid peed and who knows what else has happened. 2. NO SNEAKERs to avoid having to wait to tie them again, I'd go for loafers or something that I can still use socks on as I also don't want to be barefoot on the carpet. 3. Personal portable charger 4. Start removing or untying shoes before you get to security screening to save time That's it, those are the ones I live by.
A word of warning about long sweaters, knitwear or similar.. you don't want anything that might touch surfaces in small public toilets ... Influencers give totally contradicting recommendations, other travel videos have warned against wearing long cardigans..
I question if you’ve travelled much. Real tip is not to wear laced sneakers. Wear easy slip on sketchers with no laces. Don’t wear clothes with metal. Wear pants or a top with large pockets. Don’t wear a long cardigan. Wear stretch pants that taper to the ankle. Looser clothing to allow for movement
I would not recommend wearing wide leg pants or a long duster especially on a long flight since you will have to use the restroom which is not always clean!
I would not advise wearing white trousers to travel, especially long haul. If you drop anything on them, you are stuck until you arrive at your destination and can change your clothes - unless you are carrying spare outfit with you.
I was suggested never to wear leggings because the material is very flammable in case of accidents and also to wear shoes with thick soles for walking in case the floor gets hot 🔥. It's always good to be prepared for the worst.
True, anything polyester (sports leggings) is a bad idea. There are leggins made from cotton though - I'm wearing a pair from H&M right now. They're my preferred leisure wear.
Please Do Not wear sneakers. If you’re transiting more than one airport you will have to take them off for security check, don them again and reapeat! It wastes a lot of time and not just yours
This is what you should wear every time you fly. First hard soled shoes. Secondly all cotton clothing including undergarments. Why? The hard soled shoes will help you get out of the plane if you do survive the crash. There is going to be a lot of metal to go through. Wear all cotton. Your more likely to die from burns as most of our clothing nowadays has some sort of plastic in it. The intense heat from the fire will be high enough to melt your clothes into your flesh. Cotton gives you a much better chance. You can style it any way you want. Happy safe flying to all.
Those flares, when u go to the public washroom ,what happens?the bottoms of ur pant if u r not careful touch the floor so better to wear pants which do not touch the floor when uuse the washroom
Your outfit choices are super cute BUT I laugh when i see people trying to impress in the airport lol. Unless you have to be somewhere right away at your arrival who cares what you wear? Why are woman so worried about this kind of stuff. You’re literally going to a place to sit in a seat bazillions of people sat in 😂 I show up in super comfy clothes and no makeup every single time.
White pants on a flight? No thanks. Same with the wide legs - they'll hit the floor in the bathroom when you go. The dark leggings would work nicely though!
White, wide legs pants will get dirty walking in the airport and worse the bathrooms! No white shirts or sweaters, pplls will ruin your outfit and your flight!
