What Todd McFarlane Would Do in Venom 2? 

I loved Todd's run on spiderman. He brought a horror/monster feel. Lizard, morbius, ghost rider, hobgoblin.....how he drew them was absolutely sick.

The conception of Venom is very interesting. I always found him to be a cool villain, but the design itself was the big standout. The characters size, face and ticks were always visually interesting in the comics and animated show from the 90s. I am glad to hear Todd talk about Venom in such a positive and proud way. For me it's one of the brightest spots in his career.

Todd's 90's rendition of Spider-Man was and still is my favorite.

I don't understand why Todd isn't being pulled in for Cameos either. Stan Lee is a God Father of Comics I get it......But so is Todd...give him some more love.

Venom's one of my favourite characters of all time and I'll always love the look from the Spiderman animated series from the 90's and in the Tom Hardy film, they're pretty spot on with the look and feel. Anti heroes are always the best, they have the most depth and a meaningful darkness to them. Spawn, Rorschach,The Punisher and Blade are all awesome. Brilliant interview.

The main thing I hope they do with the Venom films in the future is actually have the symbiote and Venom be able to change Venoms appearance on the fly to tackle different task once they become bonded well! What do I mean? Well have him keep his normal size when he needs to lay down some heavy damage and when he's not in battle.. but also have it so if he has to sneak into somewhere and get some pictures in a off-limits area he can change into different forms like Agent Venom the symbiote pretty much does this when turns into the Female Venom! Then when other ppl wear it have it look unique in its own ways as well! I honestly think it would improve the character! Plus it should already remember it's previous forms since it steals everything's memories and traits it touches and come into contact with. Also they better get my favorite comic character of all times lore right! Yes Venom lives ontop of Eddie Brock! But when it comes to Carnage and Kasady tho Carnage actually lived in his blood stream lol! That's why there's only so many ways to beat like luring it out for a better host! Or just call up the silver surfer.. haha the symbiote fear him like he used to beat them up everyday and take there lunch money!

I have both of those comics in the old collection in the garage. This adds a cool backstory to them.

I just watched all 6 one hour episodes of the 90s spawn series. Really wish he could continue the series. Such a cliff hanger in the end. I'm still very excited for the new spawn movie though. Can't wait. I know none of this has to do with venom lol.

I'd love to hear his opinion on the current mythos surrounding the symbiotes with Knull and the rest. Bet he'd be proud to see his 'accidental baby' group into it's own lore with branching characters and a history that goes back to the beginnings of time, lol.

I Really Hope Todd McFarlane gets his way with the film and it gets his full attention & Is his True Vision. But I Hope Someone steps in and goes tenfold on his vision and makes it the darkest most sinister comic book adaptation ever. I Hope we see a version of Spawn not only looking right but with such depth in story & Character but also with mystery, and even more Importantly a villain that scares the audience and has you rooting for spawn to not only kill him/her but in such a graphic and satisfying way. You have to remember Spawn/Al Simmons has done some truly terrible things in his past. It would not be right if they made spawn out good just to please the studio & Audience, make him the Lesser of two Evils who is killing for Retribution & for his own sanity. Remember who the fans are and what they would want, this would please fans immensely & the rest will follow . Todd McFarlane hook me up i will provide screenplay ;)

What's weird is "Venom" is the name of the stuff they put in Bane to make him huge and muscular and Tom Hardy played both Venom and Bane.

Yup, he's going to fk up Spawn, I love this guy. I grew up with Spawn. The 90s film is a guilty pleasure of mine. Film and story telling just isn't his strong suit. Nor is it his profession. A director with a successful track record is what Spawn needs

I've been thinking about this for quite sometime now. To put all this debate and discussion about Disney and how they're not gonna make an R rated film bc they're Disney makes a ton of sense bc we all know it's DISNEY we're talking about. BUT, what if Disney started a side company within their own company just for dark movies that can't really be made into those PG13, PG14 ratings? Something solely for rated R and above movies that'll fit perfectly into those categories ex: Spider-Man with carnage, Blade series, Morbius, dead pool, the punisher, Daredevil, ghost rider, Venom which can be made into an R rated film, fantastic 4 (the real shit not that bs we had to swallow 3 times too many) etc. This would give Disney a different outlook by the people and would stir things up drastically. Just a thought........

RIP Stan Lee but as a kid I knew of first and grew up with Todd Mcfarlane as my first comic book creator. I was a fan of much of Stan Lee's work but didn't know of him at 5, 6 years old. I loved Spawn so much I wanted to know who created this guy. Huge respect for Todd Mcfarlane.

Ya know I find funny that Todd said Spidey would never win a fist fight with Venom because in most media’s it looks like he can’t because Spidey is less muscular than Venom but in the 90’s show it looks like he actually could because that show Spider-Man looked like he was on steroids.

Actually animals usually have way better teeth that us, because our teeth haven't shrunk to fit our mouths. Over thousands of year humans mouths and jaws have gotten smaller, for whatever reason. This is why a lot people need braces because there's not enough room. Love Venom!

Well they wouldnt hire him regardless of his name hes not a character designer hes a comics artist. Thats not how the industry works. Ive worked in the industry briefly theyve never once brought a comic artist to work with the art department or to work with character designers or 3d modellers. It doesnt work that way. And before you bash me saying owe but stan lee was chosen. Stan lee was the writer he couldnt draw. Jack kirby drew the artwork and steve lithgow. Stan lee wrote the stories he came up with the idea for spiderman and the F4 as the WRITER.

The thing I love about Venom is the fact that he legitimately look like Venom and it washed the stench Spider-Man 3, which I wouldn't ever watch again. Venom 2 can have my money.

Add 15-20 mins to the movie and change the pacing. The movie had potential, but the pacing was horrible.

I loved Spider-Man in black. It was a nice upgrade to Peter's powers for a new era. I liked Peter getting married. I thought both were maturing the characters. But the Powers That Be thought otherwise.
