As an American who traveled to Iran twice, I absolutely loved it. I always felt safe and everyone was so nice and hospitable. Iranians are truly kind people. There is so much history and culture in Iran. I recommenced anyone to travel there. If you're not brainwashed by the media. Iran is perfectly safe and very welcoming. Iran has not invaded any country in the last 280 or so years. That is far more than we can say about the U.S. If you visit Iran you will NOT be disappointed. Be sure to see Isfahan and Shiraz if anything.
mesbah rasooli I have heard from Iranian friends that Afghan people are not treated very nicely in Iran. I am saddened to hear this. I know it is not every person treating them badly but still enough.. It is like that in the U.S. People of color are often treated as second class citizens and it is very upsetting.
Just because the American government is bad, doesn't mean the Iranian government isn't bad as well. I'm American and I don't like the American or the Iranian government. They both have major problems. Still, that doesn't mean that the people from those countries aren't nice.
@@Zone10Permaculture In Afghanistan are so many things that we dont want in iran. they abuse children, dress them like girls and dance in parties. they marry with them. they beat women, they do things that we never tolerate in iran and they insult us. They even made pages to destroy our culture. therefore they are not so welcome in iran and that is completely normal if you know what im talking about. no one want such things and if it was neighbor with any cultured country, they do the same.
I'm from Germany and visited Iran 2 months ago... As a matter of fact, i couldn't believe how great it is. rich culture amazing landscape nice people delicious foods i don't know what i should say. Iran is under international sanctions, but ... i hope the government will change, as Iranian want.
I didnt like the part where the guy supposedly said Iranians said theyre western or westernized. we have our own Persian culture that has nothing to do with the west, nor sharia for that matter.
Come on! Let's be honest and put the self-congratulation aside for a moment. Our lives more resemble the western lifestyle than the way we lived 100 years ago under Qajars or prior to that. You don't need to be a scholar to find this out. Go and look at numerous pictures left from Qajar era! It's a no-brainer that our culture has been heavily mingled and infected by religious dogmas and superstitions ever since the Safavid era at least. 95 percent of our holidays are religious and majority of people sincerely uphold that. An average ordinary Iranian does not have any clue what are ancient Iranian holidays, who were the ancient pre-Islamic heros of Persian empire, etc. I respect your point of view and I admire your patriotism but we have got to face the reality of our current society.
Bahram Paivar There are many things in Iranian society that aren't islamic or western rather Persian in origin like nowruz, 13 best, shabe yalda etc.. as well our mentality and values are very different from the west. I agree with you that the west is poaching into our society and this must stop. Much like how we are rejecting islamic things, we should reject the west as well, even more so than islam actually since western culture is alot more foreign to our Zoroastrian stemmed values, morals and culture than islam.
Darius Ashkani That's why I said 95 percent. There are few things that fortunately survived the surge of Islam and Shiism throughout centuries. This also should be mentioned that Iranians have created their own brand of Islam which clearly has been impacted by the ancient Zoroastrian beliefs e.g. 12 imam can be traced back to the concept of 12 Amesha Spenta, or mourning for Hossein evidently has been copied from the tragedy of Siavash and mourning rituals held for him. Messianism- a cornerstone of Shiism- has also found its counterpart in Zoroastrianism i.e. Saoshyant and this list goes on and on. That's why majority of Muslim World don't consider Iranians as genuine and full-hearted Muslims (albeit good for us!) On the rejection of western values I am at a opposite point of view with you. Blind-foldedly rejecting of Western values to preserve our Zoroastrian culture and Mullahs' rejection of Western ethics to preserve their Islamic ideology are just two sides of the same coin. Rejection is the act of tyrants who lose the argument. People of Iran should be free to choose whatever they want. I am a secular and liberal person and I stand for the total and unconditional separation of any form of religion from the state, be it Islam or Zoroastrianism. I do believe that modern man understands the world way better than the ancient and primitive people lived thousands of years ago and modern man has developed better solutions based on scientific methods to remedy the difficulties of life. That obviates the need for any sort of subordination to any type of religion, let alone the interference of religion to social and individual spheres. There is nothing sacred about Islam or Zoroastrianism. All are products of human beings and the result of cultural evolution.
Bahram Paivar I'm not talking about religion, though Zoroastrianism and reverting to this religion are essential to bringing our actual Persian culture and basing our society on it en mass. Anyways, I'm against the west because it mainly offers degeneracy and toxic culture/values. It is a failed civilization rapidly collapsing on its own filth due to things like toxic individualism, materialism, greed, and the lack of discipline amongst it's people.
The Iranians believe in "Good thoughts, good words, good deeds". This is reflected in the Iranian people. I know a few people who have visited Iran and they have told me they felt safer walking the streets of Iran than they did their own cities. They felt the main reason for this is, no alcohol. There are no drunken youths and you don't feel threatened. Like the lady commented on the video, when I tell friends I want to go to Iran they ask me why and it's dangerous. They also mention terrorists. It is hard to argue with these people as they have been brainwashed by the US media, The first time I became aware of Iran was when I received a friend request from a young Iranian lady on Facebook.I learned of the Iranian friendliness within the first year of our friendship. She sent me a gift for my birthday, a book of poems by Omar Khayyam. She also baked me a birthday cake. She could not post this to me but took a photo of herself holding it.This really touched me. We have been friends for 3 years now and have exchanged many birthday gifts and messages. Although their human rights are not the best the West has treated Iran unfairly.
I thought iran was a horrible country until I met some Iranians. After talking to them I realised how friendly and open minded they are(a lot more more open minded than those middle easterners and other Muslims I've met). I've watched a few food documentary about Iran and the food look so delicious! After all the good stories I've decided to go to Iran next April, can't wait!
Iran is and was always a beautiful, mesmerising country! Have only visited once, I was born and lived there for only 6 years of my life- but it's culture and tradition have always played a big role in my upbringing! Peace to iran😀
Darius Ashkani lol i know. I am not that dumb XD. I am just saying that is all. Also i would very unlikely do that to. Just go up to every iranian girl and be like your beautiful. If i went to iran. I would just be there to explore the culture and enjoy being in a country that is very uncommon for western people to visit. Though if i find , a iranian girl . it would be more like be nice and not hitting on them at all.
TheBlazersfan22 I've lived in Scotland for the past 4 years and everytime I go back to Iran for a visit I have the same feeling as you. I'm Iranian my self
ohhh it' so nice of you to say.....but iranian girls mostly don't like their own appearance ...we are have such low self confidences because of the world judgment...i myself get a lot of comment saying i'm pretty when i'm out of my country even when i have my scarf on but when i'm in my own but in my own contoury i don't feel beautiful...it's so complicated
l just got back from Iran last night. l loved it! l am Mexican and everyone there was happy to greet me, we took selfies together and exchanged telephone numbers. we are now great friends! lt is a safe and friendly country! Can't wait to go back
The most beautiful sophisticated powerful country and civilization on the planet. absolutely beautiful. shame on Western media for not showing the positive and beautiful side of Iran
You never see pictures like that and listen to such positive comments about the Iran in the media. Now I'm really interested to visit this country - but I want to see and experience it in peace!
What a shame that so many people are ignorant about this country! I hope that in the near future that the tourism business in Iran increases greatly and that the ignorance about this country continues to diminish !
Oh, yes Iran is as safe as any place for the tourists ok, but I meant except for specialist touristic reasons there is not much to in Iran. Of course this may seem a narrow view point but if I think you can do almost anything in Iran except perhaps drinking in public, night outs etc . However the number of out door things one can do out ways small business of drinking, going bareheaded or wearing bikini on the beaches! Iran is ok for the most things!
What bothers me is that the European woman in this video was covering her her, but many muslim women in Western countries refuse to respect our culture and still wear burkha. If we have to 'respect their culture', why don't they respect ours?
***** As far as I know Iran is predominantly Islamic, and I've heard how muslim women claim that wearing a vail 'makes them feel liberated', 'makes them modest' and 'is their personal choice'.
they cover there hair because the role in Iran. any woman either iran citizen or from any other country( any part of the world) there have to have cover there hair. if you ask Iranian woman %95 of them don't like to cover there hair. it's nothing to do with culture or even religion. it's iran government role.
Come to Iran, we are glad to see other people from other countries, we are not wild or terrorist people, all of us follow freedom and peace. If you have a trip to my country, don't forget to visit my city Shiraz, I'm sure that your feelings change when you see Shiraz and the people of Shiraz besides the historical places and most beautiful Gardens.Hope all of you spend the best time in my country and city. Best of luck.
+foxchubby You are right. Iran is the source of terrorism. Israel and USA are the sources of peace love and universal brotherhood. Look how happy those Palestinians, Afghans, Iraqis and Syrians are thanks to all the Israeli and American Love. You must be watching a lot of FOX TV and reading the Washington post instead of wiping you bum with it LOL
I don´t understand what the video says, but as a woman, I never want to go to Iran, because i have to wear something in my head, why? i dont want soooo, NO!!!
shuculele cuz when i'm in europe or america i have to respect your law??so you should respect ours....it's a written law so everyone should do it....i can't come and kill someone in the street and say: why shouldn't i kill some one? i wannnt to....or you can't say they shouldn't have guns in america cuz it' dangerous but they have and it's thei law that everyone can have his own gun if the want too....
my country are good but my goverment is like your goverment mynntiful we love all you but some sanction make alot of problem for me and others it isnt fair
travman387 you are welcome. I do not live in Iran these days bec of my job, but anything u wanna know I am ready to answer. iran is quite safe, it is probable that in large cities like Tehran you encounter thief but it is not very common and if you are in crowded place then u will not see any bully or sth. as far as I know it is not very cold these days in the center of Iran. anything else? you wont have so much problem, trust me on that.
no problems for as an american tourist? Weatherwise, what is the best time of the year to visit Teheran? any particular/special place i should visit(my wife is going with me)
travman387 no problem sir. unfortunately my information about Tehran is not up-to-date. but I can give you details about Tabriz which is Iran's 3rd largest city. we can talk on Skype if u want. I will be happy to help.
Freedom of faith & speech now I apologize for these ignorant comments that you received from uneducated people, they don't speak on behalf of iranians. Iran and afghanistan are brothers and we are very much alike.
