What types of braces do we have, and the variety appliance systems that we use in orthodontics? We have metal braces, which a lot of people like because our metal brackets today are made of stainless steel. They're a smaller bracket series, so they don't cover the entire tooth like the braces of old did. We have porcelain or ceramic brackets, which are clear. They're made of glass. They do tend to be a little bit bigger and bulkier than our stainless steel brackets, but they're nearly invisible, you can barely see them. The other option that we use is Invisalign, and Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that you place in the mouth, and you wear them almost 24/7 throughout the day, and what Invisalign does is incrementally moves teeth over a period of two weeks by switching out aligners, and it's all based on a treatment plan that we put into the Invisalign system.
