Well this is the longest video I have uploaded on the channel so far...let me know what you think? If you enjoyed this extended version you may also enjoy the latest extended video I made on the Bronze Age Minoans ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t6cHnbYWk0E.html Also, I used a couple different microphones in different sized rooms on different days while recording this video(out of necessity)...so this may sound slightly different tones at times.

@@michaelb1761 yes, but even a little bit goes a long way. Assuming the archaeologists of 3000 years in the future are as advanced or more advanced than our own today, then I am sure they will be able to recover quite a lot of information from a random laptop hard-drive that was carelessly thrown in the bin and sent to landfill rather than destroyed or recycled. If it’s buried deep enough it should be reasonably safe from solar flares and EMP events. Moreover, I expect that buried CDs and DVDs will have good prospects of being readable even 3000 years from now.

Bronze is used in a lot of modern machinery etc, when the engineer wants to make sure only one of two contacting parts is being worn away, they make that one from bronze and the other from steel. Bronze is still pretty hard so it resists abrasion pretty well, but when it's worn away you only need to swap out the bronze part.

57:55 The Tigris and Euphrates confluence has two names depending on who you ask: Arabs call it Shatt al-Arab (شط العرب) meaning river of the Arabs. But in Iran, it's called Arvand Rud (اروند رود), the swift river. Or at least Shatt al-Arab is only considered the part of river that is in Iraq. At the Iranian border the river Karun from Zagros mountains joins Shatt al-Arab and forms the Iran-Iraqi border. This part is considered Arvand Rud in Iran.

The full version is even better than the first version - really epic narrative. The history of rising and collapsing empires in this region is so complex and you really help put light on it. Thank you for the excellent work!

You somehow manage to make these potentially dry subjects, both interesting and still densely packed with information. Bravo. :)

Love to see the additional commentary, it's really nice when creators are committed enough to properly listen to their audience.

I like them both [actually went out of my way to watch the shorter version after I came across this version]. Each serves its own purpose. So if you want to do another of these expanded versions, I think you would find an audience for it. I personally enjoyed the extra information / detail that you provided, as well as the slightly less formal style of the commentary in the additions.

I loved this! I think the longer format is great. You should def do more videos like this. I like the way you weaved between the OG video and new stuff, though I think a long video for itself that does not have to do that would be better. Overall though, you should totally do some more stuff like this.

I don't know if long videos like this one can touch a big segment of your viewers, but i think it can overtime. If you look at podcasting, a lot of people watch hours long conversations. For my part, the more the merrier! Love what your doing keep it up!
