From what i understand, this video (and it's not in the album version) was the FIRST time Geoff ever sang a G1 in a song/recording. 😮

I'm right with you Mortius. I hate egg nog as well. Yeah. All their voices are so much better these days. Geoff redid this last year because he said he felt it needed an update and a baseline. Tony's dog is Fletcher. Fletcher is a little grayer but but very much a part of Pattycake Productions. He was Dorothy's dog Toto in their video "Will of Oz". Earl played the cowardly lion. Eli and Kathy were munchkins and Kathy was also the wicked witch. It's really good.

It’s so interesting to hear this compared to the version Geoff did last year. He did a lot of the same or similar riffs, but his voice has matured so much over time. Especially since this was his first recorded G1 chest and in his solo version he does like four or five of them like it’s nothing!

Hope you're feeling better! Yes to pineapple on pizza! Yes to eggnog but only if it's homemade with real sugar, not commercial crap with corn syrup. Made right, it's like liquid dessert. Geoff's voice sounds different here in part because was channeling Bing Crosby, like he channeled Thurl Ravenscroft for Headless Horseman. Did you catch the snapshot at the end where it looked like Geoff pinched Tony? Fletcher often accompanies Tony to work at Pattycake so we get to see him in a lot of the BTS videos. There's one where Kathy included a shot of Fletcher napping on Geoff's open duffle bag with his street clothes, while Geoff was in costume. Another fun seasonal song where Geoff sings lead is Baby, It's Cold Outside. Be sure to read the funny description with alternate lyrics. "Okay, your Uber is here. Byeee!" If you didn't do them last year, I hope The Chipmunk Song (VP) and Geoff's solo version of White Christmas, where he included more of the original verses, is on your to-do list. And have you done Mele Kalikimaka and God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen?

Ah an older one. A lot of fun. I always think that Geoff has hints of Bing Crosby in this one. I think perhaps you missed the final snapshot joke. I was waiting to see you react to that but you were busy talking over it. Maybe rewatch it sometime for that.

My favorite version of White Christmas will always be the GOAT by Bing Crosby. I also love Geoff's low bass singer cover, it's my second favorite traditional version. BUT! THIS is my absolute complete and total favorite non-traditional one. It's SO much fun, just a JOY (heh) and just shows the camaraderie between the guys, and it's great to see Tony (and his adorable doggo-loved how your animated pupper popped up at just that time!) and the guys looking so young. So, they were about Cesar's age now, when they did this, hmmm? Pretty interesting. I wonder what Cesar thinks when he watches older Voiceplay stuff. I'm assuming he loves it, otherwise he wouldn't be part of the group. But I wonder if he thinks about where his voice is going to be in nine years...

This is a redo of the mid-1950s The Drifters version of White Christmas. After Bing Crosby’s , this & The Drifters’ are my favorite versions.

Ooh, hot take there Mortius, but I love egg nog. To be fair, I actually dislike it with alcohol in it, the taste just isn't the same. My favorite part of that whole dream sequence thing with Geoff is when he says that part about hitting the egg nog to hard it then exits the dream and Earl is nodding and giving some serious side eye. It's short, but hilarious.

I like eggnog without the alcohol, but cut with milk, and pineapple and pepperoni pizza is my go-to topping choice. I love the sweet+sour+savoury+spicy of the combo.

I'm deathly allergic to egg yolks, but my husband LOOOOOVES eggnog and can't wait for it to appear in stores. When he drinks it, he can't kiss me or my throat could swell up. So I have no idea what eggnog tastes like, but I hate it because it makes my husband turn into a giant walking allergy monster.

Yeah, I don't like eggnog either. I love milk, and I like many sugary things, and I'm ok with nutmeg (both in desserts, and also in savory dishes, particularly with chicken), but the combination of milk and sugar and nutmeg, just doesn't do it for me. Swap out the nutmeg for chocolate, and then you've got something that's actually good. Alternatively, swap out the milk for cranberry juice.
