Shortly after Columbine I realized that the guy I'd been chatting about Doom with that went by "rebldomaker" was actually Eric Harris. For like the next 5 years I was just paralyzed with fear that the FBI was gonna come pounding down my door, but nope. Not sure if I dodged a literal bullet since I never met him in person or anything, but just being peripherally associated with that whole thing could've gone bad in a million different ways.
Why? Unless you were planning the whole thing with him, it’s not a jailable offense to chat up someone online about to do something that nobody could’ve possibly expected.

@@radioactive_baby Know what's even crazier? The rumors that he built a Doom level based on the high school were true. The wad was called realdoom.wad and he only gave it out on request by direct e-mail, on condition that you delete it when you're done playing it. That's why there are no copies floating around any more, so unfortuantely it's only the word of random asshats like me that keep the myth alive. At the time I didn't think anything of it since I also made a level of my high school in Wolfenstein 3D. But it wasn't nefarious, it was just a building I was familiar with off the top of my head, so it was easy to draw as a map. That was it. I figured that's all realdoom.wad was too...until it wasn't.
My great-great Grandfather had a ticket to America on a boat but the business man he was he decided to go on another day due to a big meeting. That boat was the Titanic.
I used to live in an old cottage that was built in 1901. I found out not too long ago that our old house was shot up. Me and my family literally dodged a bullet or multiple bullets.
This isn't REALLY a bullet dodged, but I moved out of an multi-building apartment complex because they were raising the rent a stupid amount and a month later... a PLANE crashed into the PARKING LOT of one of the buildings. (not the one I lived in but within a quarter mile.) No one was hurt and I think the only damage was to two cars and an electrical pole but I heard about it and was like "huh... glad I didn't have to be around for that mess."
A bullet i dodged fairly recently was I was walking to work and just a moment after I passed under a tree I heard something like the tree moving behind me. A large branch fell just a second after I moved out of range to be hit. Likely wouldn’t have died but most likely a concussion and a few splinters, maybe even a broken wrist. Again it wasn’t a small brach, it’d was about half the length of my 5’3 body and thicker than my thigh, and I have fairly large thighs for my size/age. That falling right on your heads gotta hurt
This is going to be a bit long , so stick with me till the end, okay? When I was in high school, my best friend told me that he got a girlfriend, and I was happy for him. She was pretty cute, smart, and one of the ace athletes in the track team, so good for you bro!!! Or, so I thought….. A few days later, that girl came up to me asking if I had a girlfriend of my own. Thinking that she was going to introduce me to one of her friends(they were all cute, so don’t complain), so I said no. Then out of the blue she asks if I wanted to go out on a DATE WITH ME!? I immediately said no and excused myself to the bathroom for a second. Flabbergasted, I started to follow her in order to find out why. It didn’t take long for me to find out that the girl was cheating on 5 other guys at the same time, and none of the guys had a single idea about it. When I caught wind of it, I knew I had to do something about it. I spent the next few weeks gathering evidence and devise a way to blow her cover in the best way possible. My high school has a competition day where a few people provide PowerPoint presentations for the rest of the student body. The members were chosen by random, and this year I was one of them. Perfect. I already had a presentation ready, but I threw that one in the trash for this on- in-a-million chance. The day came, and I was buzzing with adrenaline. The entire school in the auditorium, including teachers, waiting for the day to end(most of the presentations were about “saving time” and “financial incidents” and whatnot, so they were all bored to death). Thinking to myself that everyone was going to be “entertained soon”, I walk up on stage as my name was called and boot up the PowerPoint. I start my presentation, and a few minutes later every single person in the auditorium was glaring at the girl in question, already on the verge of tears. *here’s the last part of that presentation, word-for-word* Me “Okay,that’s the end of my presentation. Any questions?” Girl “Why did you do this t-“ Me “If you have a question, raise your hand and wait for my permission. Okay?” Girl “………” *silently raises hand* Me “Yes, go ahead” Girl “Why did you do this to me!? I never did anything to you!?” Me “Oh yes, not to me……… But who do you think, KAREN, destroyed my best friend’s love life and gave trauma to everyone who just found out that they were being cheated on!? You, of course!!! And yet you have the audacity to act as the victim!? Yeah, like I’m gonna buy that!!! Screw your life, I don’t care anymore!!!” *Epilogue* All 6 guys broke up with her, and she instantly became the most unpopular girl in the school. She did transfer schools soon after, but this incident had already spread out into the neighboring school in the district, so she had to move out of the prefecture(this is in Japan). I haven’t heard of her since. As for me, I did get a scolding for “bad language” but got off scot-free for the most part. I ended up winning the competition, and becoming famous in the process. The incident is now called the”Detective presentation incident” and is still passed down to this day. Oh, and the bullet? Had I not been friends with one of the victims, I would’ve gained trauma in going out with girls. Don’t know if you’d count that, but it is in my book
I’m convinced my girlfriend saved me ,about a year ago her and me were bar hopping around saint Pete FL, at around 3 pm we stop at a cross walk to cross the street and beside me are 3 people that looked to be a family, a mother, father and a daughter. But right when we were gonna take the cross walk my girlfriend stops and wants to sit down at bench, right when we sit down the family that was crossing to gets hit by a car going well or 40. From what I saw the father got hit and rolled under the tire and didn’t make it. One of the saddest things I’ve seen.
On 25th July 1995 at evening rush hour my BFF and a co-worker each missed a high-speed metro by only seconds. Co-worker didn't run fast enough and BFF was carrying a very heavy backpack that slowed her down. At the next station, a bomb went off in the car BFF would have been in and damaged several others and the people in them.
Actually, if he did actually use a WWI gun with WWI ammo, they weren't 70 or 90 years old, but over 100 years old, maybe even approaching 110 years old depending on the date of the post you were reading, because WWI happened between 1914-1918.
A couple of months ago I was having car problems and had to pull over into the breakdown lane on a toll road. Traffic was bumper to bumper and moving slowly because of construction. We topped off the coolant and let the car sit for a few minutes before merging back into the stop & go traffic. Less than 30 seconds later a big pickup truck zoomed past everyone, using the breakdown lane as a passing lane. My car would have been obliterated if I hadn’t moved when I did.
For anyone wondering about story seven, tgat bottle had around 750 joules (6:45) of kinetic energy at the point it would have hit the poster. That is very comparable to a gun and a hit would have most likely been fatal
I told this story a little while back ill tell it again. Almost a year ago i was in my company Nissan NV200 ( cargo van ) just got done with a dropping off a delivery. i was just stopping at a intersection to make a left turn on to set road . Now behind me is a big ass semi truck waiting his turn to make a left as well . Now i made sure to look both ways before making the left as soon as i made the left turn a a****** in a Tesla cuts me off making hit the breaks hard . the truck behind me not seeing me in the van hits the rear end of the van hard dealing a good amount of damage to the near of the van . Then at that moment it hit me ...... If i was in a smaller car like a Nissan versa Note I would have been in the back of an ambulance heading to the damn hospital. So in my head I was like damn bro. I dodged a bullet😮
