Madeleine’s book is a masterpiece and a treasure. I enjoy reading it every day. If you haven’t got a copy for yourself…Do so and you’ll want to get more and send them to all your friends. That is what I did
I agree, Yoko is an exceptionally positive person. And so, it has always struck me as strange how rarely she smiled in photographs. Same with Linda. Not big smilers, those two. Linda even admitted it. She said she knows she looks 'cold and pushy'. I never understood why both of them always seemed so glum. Every time I'd see pictures of them, I'd be thinking, 'Cheer up, babes'!
Growing up in the restrictive culture of Japan (especially for women), Yoko learned not to smile for photographs. She and Linda were under so much scrutiny and stress, that it was hard for them to smile sometimes. I hope you will read my book! Madeline
10 minutes in and poor old John Heaton hasn't said a word ... how come? And when he does try to speak you keep trying to interrupt him? Hah-ha. What a show!
She made it worse, sadly. John's music got quite more primitive compared to his contributions to the Beatles', even though he still could write catchy pieces, they were arranged horribly and there were less of amazing melodic moves. For example, if we take the song "Dear Yoko", it's a joy to listen to acoustically (proving he still got the talent), while the studio track arrangement was cheesy and overall horrifying. I would've liked her as a standalone artist, but I don't quite like her as John's love interest and partner.
